Hammer and Lewis is an iconic landmark in East San Jose. They cater to men and women on the Eastside who like to wear the clothes that represent the Fashion side of the Chicano culture which is so prevalent here on the Eastside.
I have shopped at the store many times over the years, and I always find exactly what I need. They have great gifts for Christmas and for just no occasion whatsoever. I particularly love their selection of fedoras. It’s one of the largest selections in this area. I’m always amazed when I come here, because they carry lots and lots of flashy clothes. But the kind clothes I would wear all the time but for that special occasion they work well.
I’ve always found the employees here to be very helpful. They know their clothing line and they can direct me to the perfect clothing item every time. When I went there on Sunday, I saw that they had these very very unusual contacts that create kind of an optical illusion look for your eyes. They said they sold a lot of them for Halloween. I bet!

The experience you receive shopping and purchasing from Hammer & Lewis is exquisite. I was greeted by the owner Irving Velez and he immediately made me feel comfortable knowing I was going to spend a fair amount of money on a complete suit with matching apparel. He took his time to show me assorted suits, shirts, fedoras and shoes along with other accessories and complementing items to get me looking dapper indeed. I have returned several times since and now make Hammer & Lewis my go to spot for suits and formal attire. Whatever color or style you’re looking for Hammer & Lewis will find it for you and make sure when you show up at your next event that you will steal the show!
