Workers are always nice and fast. They have the best hot chocolate! High recommend trying it. Go here once/twice a week and have never had a problem. Bagels warm and filling.

feel bad leaving this review because the people that wk there are very nice and i was going there for years. However when you have a company serving food and trying to hide the fact that they have roaches is not right. Im posting this because people can get very ill from roaches and their feces. Salmonella is only one to start with. Outside the door is a PASS sign from the city that shows they were inspected. I dont see how that is even possible. Scary thought. Those signs are supposed to make you feel comfortable in your choice of eating there. We have seen German roaches on the walls, window sill, light covers up in ceiling, floor, and I also witnessed an employee smash one on the counter by the register then continue working. That is when I walked out and said never again. I myself used to work for a pest control company. I know they are trying to save money by not paying to have it treated. They could lose a lot of money closing for even one day to treat the place. That means they care about themselves not their customers. Enter at your on risk. Be smart. Also remember you can bring one home with you if it crawls into your shoe or makes its way into a purse. They are fast!

Worst House of Bagels location ever. Their bagel selection is terrible. How can you not carry any form of pesto bagels? The cream cheese tasted like it was from a mass tub of cheap commercial grade spread. As for the bf’s selection, he ended up ordering a patty melt type of sandwich and that tasted like it was stuck in the back end of a freezer for a couple of years and just thrown in the microwave to defrost… disgusting. Overall, avoid this cheap place and go down the street to Main Street Bagels where there’s variety and quality bagels.

I stop by here when I’m hungry for a decent breakfast. Their onion bagels are my fave. Customers are friendly like the employees. They say their smoothies are fresh although I yet to dabble. 6 Unilocal bucks for a bagel sandwich and a coffee; can’t beat that IMO.

Come here all the time for the bacon and egg breakfast bagel at least twice a week. They’re so fast and friendly and the bagels are always fresh.

Bagels were alright, mediocre at best. The Vietnamese ice coffee I got was horrible — the pearls were soggy, the coffee was gross. I tried a plain ice coffee after that and it was some flavored shit — I just want a good coffee with my bagel. Not at this place. The lady was rude too.

No half dozen bagel deals, ok. Dozen bagels $ 9, Ok fine. $.50 to slice each bagel = ridiculous. That’s $ 15 not counting cream cheese yet. Place is over priced. Decent bagels, Better value across the street at Whole Foods

I like the seating in here – no tables, just a roundabout bar. The bagels are very good and fresh tasting;they are more expensive than Safeway but worth it. I really like the jalapeño and sesame bagels here, and they have bagel hot dogs, too. Coffee here is reasonably priced, but it can get very hot in here so I don’t always think of getting it. They also have smoothies here — not the exotic flavors like avocado and durian, but you can still get mango or guava. Cheap compared with other places — the berry one is good. Service is friendly.

This is a convenient place to stop and get breakfast on mornings when you feel like grabbing something quick. I got the hummus sandwich on the everything bagel, and my boyfriend got the hummus sandwich on the jalapeño bagel. They were both really good, I actually really liked the jalapeño bagel, it was spicy and delicious. They had quite a few different types of cream cheese offerings, as well as tons of different breakfast and lunch sandwich types. The cinnamon sugar bagel seemed quite popular, it looked sticky and fresh. There is indoor and outdoor seating, coffee and lattes as well as a bunch of different drinks and bulk bagel options. The sandwiches were not super creative, but classic and typical of what you would expect.

The absolute greatest quick breakfast spot in San Jose! They are a bagel shop but ironically I’ve only had a handfull of bagels here. I go for the CRIOSSANTS! They make them fresh every morning and honestly sell out by 10am on busy days! Sausage/bacon omelette on a croissant is hands down the best way to go!

This place was okay. I got the asiago bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. and they don’t really put much of the cream cheese on it. it was a little dry. Not to mention the jalapeño in the cream cheese doesn’t seem to exist… it just looked like cream cheese with green sprinkles. I also ordered one little baggie of brownies here, and I just wanted to suggest not putting it in those bags. because when I pulled the brownies out of the bag, all the frosting was stuck inside. and it was just a MESS. On the plus side, they sell Orangina!

I’ve been here a few times and I’ve never had any problems. I’m usually in and out getting the lox sandwich(#11) on a tomato basil bagel. I brought my boyfriend this time because he was in the area and I decided to try something different. I got the salmon, egg, chives, and cheese sandwich(#10) on a tomato basil bagel and he just got the onion bagel with smoked salmon spread. Sadly, I was disappointed in both sandwiches. The #10 was a little bland. It was well made and very cheesy, but I felt that it was a little bland. I felt like I needed to add some salt and pepper to it. Unfortunately, my boyfriend’s onion bagel was burnt. Burnt bread does not taste good, but he didn’t go back and say anything. The burnt bread ruined the experience because it seemed like that was all you could taste even though the bagel seemed to be overflowing with the smoked salmon spread. Not sure why the bagel was burnt but hopefully it doesn’t happen again.

One of my must-have slices of heaven every time I’m in the San Jose area is the delicious bagel dog sold here at House of Bagels. They have a large selection of freshly made bagels as well as several treats under the glass case. Everything is made fresh in the morning then given an extra zap in the toaster when you order it. The bagels are always given a generous amount of any of the cream cheeses they have available. There’s nothing worse than having to gingerly spread a tiny helping of cream cheese so you get at least a little in each bite. You definitely don’t have to worry about that here. Even though the bagels are all amazing, my favorite still has to be that tasty bagel dog!

the world according to noelle, 2013 noelle’s Unilocal notebook — — — — — — — – the quick details — — — — — — — – business: bagel shop parking: small parking spaces stroller friendly: so-so restroom: no family friendly: yes noelle’s favorites: sesame bagel House of Bagels is a decent place in the area to get a quick bagel. My favorites are the sesame bagel and garlic schmear, the black and white cookies and apricot hamentaschen. My favorite bagel places is located in Palo Alto. There are other bagel shops in the area but for the Almaden/Blossom Valley area this isn’t too bad! They always have good customer service :)

This area of San Jose does not have a lot to choose from bagel-wise. First off, why is it always so dang hot in here? The cheese bagels just look and taste nasty. HOWCANYOUSCREWUP A BAGEL? I am someone who loves bagels, and I will not go to this location anymore. I will drive the extra 5 – 10 minutes to get to Main Street Bagels or Posh…

Was craving a bagel hard core one morning, and through Unilocal, found this place that I’d seen before. It was also the closest, and since I was starving, I rushed on over. There were a good amount of people sitting outside, a s well as several others inside. I decided on my usual, a sesame bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. I paid $ 2.50 total, which included tax. There were 3 workers, all helping different customers, and everything moved fast and efficiently. However, when I finally took a bite into my bagel, I was dissapointed. First off, I love sesame seeds, but this thing was overloaded. Then, the jalapeño shmear was tasteless. As in, no flavor of jalapeño, no kick, no nothing. Was super dissapointed. If I were to go back, possibly I’d try one of their sandwiches, like a lox sandwich.

This is the only local bagel shop in the Cambrian area that I know of. I stop in at least once or twice a month when I get a bagel craving. It’s located in the Almaden plaza, so there’s plenty of parking and tons of other stores you can visit if you want to walk of that delicious cream cheese you just ate! Their bagels always taste fresh. Jalepeño cheese is my preference. If I’m feeling a bagel sandwich, I will order the spinach, cheese, egg and tomato on an onion bagel. It’s so yummy! They have a variety of drinks: juices, water, teas, smoothies, Boba and coffee. The staff here is always friendly and smiling. The inside dining area has a small bar that stretches along two walls. If you want to sit outside, they have quite a few outdoor tables and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your bagel. The shop is pretty decent and kept clean. So if you are in the neighborhood, grab a bagel! You won’t be disappointed.
