The work is decent but they are highly over-​priced.

We were in the middle of a property inspection when the inspector said the chimney had some ‘give’ in it. Right away, I realized we had a problem. I got on the phone and Jim made a special trip to come and check out the chimney. Turns out it was cracked at the shoulders. Jim spent a lot of time talking to my first time buyers about what that means, what to do with their fireplace insert, what to expect for repairs, etc. It’s great to get knowledgeable advise and a super competitive rate bid. Jim has been around 30+ years, he always stands behind his work and we’ve never had to fix or repair anything he’s done for us. That”s why, when I need it done right, he is always the first one I call.

We heard about JK from a Realtor friend of ours. We needed a chimney repaired at a rental property. We had recieved a bid from Tony at Royal Chimney to fix the chimney for around $ 3k (permit included). JK came out and told me I needed to have the WHOLE chimney rebuilt for $ 8k! I told them «No Thanks». I guess there aren’t many quality chimney repair services out there. Call Tony at Royal. He’s great!

They came out took the $ 185 amount for a chimney inspection only to tell us they could not do it because the chimney was too dirty, then told us they wanted another $ 195 to clean the chimney before they could inspect. We called the office and the assistant did not want to hear our complaint and would not give us a service call price instead of the inspection price of $ 185, even though they could not do the inspection. I would call that bait and switch. We are taking the $ 185 loss and making a BBB complaint as well as a California Consumer Protection on the license used. We started calling companies in our area and found that ALL include inspection and cleaning as part of the inspection and for one price of $ 150 to $ 185, not one company charged anything near the $ 380 price this company wanted.

We designed front and back patios and an entry path to be done in brick. We looked for a contractor and got a recommendation from a friend, leading us to JK Masonry.
This crew removed a concrete back patio, laid a base, and installed an attractive round brick patio.
In the front, brick was laid over an existing patio base. A base for a curved walk was laid and bricks installed.
It’s been almost 30 years, and we’re still pleased with the quality work, the brick edging, and the attractive appearance. There has been some differential settling in the front where the bricks were laid over the existing patio base giving us some cracks, but otherwise the work has been stable.
We’ re pleased with the work and can recommend the quality of the result.
