This guy took advantage of me. I am a seasoned veteran of professional dental clinics since I’m very prone to cavities and my student health insurance at Ohio State covered faculty practice visits. I visited Hashemi in January and he told me everything looked fine, which seemed strange to me because my previous professor-dentists always found one or two every visit. Well, I just went to a new dentist today and they found 12 cavities, and they tell me it’s unlikely they all suddenly developed between January and now. I was also due for a cleaning that Hashemi didn’t think necessary. He merely tried to sell me on a tooth-whitening procedure. Probably the worst part, though: he drilled a front tooth(facial side) that definitely didn’t need to be done, and didn’t give me novocaine. He started so quickly and there was a strange social dynamic going on, I didn’t know how to protest and I just let it happen. He filled in a little dent that many people have on their upper front tooth. I’d had it all my life, and in all my years of going to dentists for serious work, not one before thought it was a problem. Eugh. I’d sue if I wasn’t too busy.

I put off getting a bad crown pulled because my dentist would not do the procedure. He sent me elsewhere which was not covered by my insurance. I asked around and a friend urged me to go see Dr. Hashemi. I made an appointment and went to see him the following day. I can’t tell anyone enough how silly I was to endure the pain and hassle of one bad tooth for so long when in 20 minutes it was gone. I can see why my dentist wouldn’t do the work, and applaud Dr. John for his all around care and professionalism. HECARES… and his prices reflect that as well– dramatically.
