Just For Your Health – College of Massage

So i took my dad here and treated him to a massage for his birthday and he LOVED it!!! The 2 asian ladies at the front desk were so nice and accommodating. They gave my dad a lil cake once his massage is over and had a little card attach to it and i thought that was really sweet! i highly recommend this place and get your massage by Lupe! Shes so awesome! My dad couldn’t stop talking about it, he said he felt so refreshed and everything felt awesome! Definitely going to take my mom here for mothers day.

Very comfortable atmosphere and a great massage all for a decent price. Plus they seem to fit us in, no matter how late in the week we call. I’ve had several massages from Lupe and every one has been good!

I’ve been going to JFYH for fifteen years, following them from their old location on Lincoln to their present location on Bird. They offer the best massages for the best price anywhere. I have, on occasion, gone to Burke Williams (and other spa-​like places) thinking I’d have a more lux experience BUT every time I wish I had gone to JFYH. There’s just no one around with better massage therapy.

This review has nothing to do with the instructors and everything to do with the management. They are unorganized and over priced. It is difficult to ever get a hold of someone and they NEVER call you back when they say they will. Don’t trust the dates on the schedule, they are never right and won’t refund unless the class is canceled.
When I showed up for our first class no one was there because they had postponed the class and didn’t call anyone. We didn’t get the books for the course.
If you are looking for a place to take classes save the frustration and your money and look elsewhere. I only took classes to get my 500 hours, no way am I taking any more classes here.
It wouldn’t let me give no stars, they don’t deserve the one.

Education: 4 stars
There’s a lot of hands on experience, half the time you’re receiving massages so you get to see what works and what doesn’t. The other half of the time you’re giving massages, which means TONS of practice! A neccesity!
The classes usually consist of anywhere from 4 – 9 people. The teachers are all very helpful and friendly. Most of the equipment/​products are provided.
In the spa classes they don’t teach paraffin wax treatments (which SHOULD be a-​given)
Courses I recommend: 100 hour swedish, shiatsu and tai chi.
Price: 1 star
DO NOT purchase any of the products they offer… its not that they’re bad merchandise, just WAY overpriced. A set of sheets will cost you around $ 30 while online you can get them for $ 10. (This also goes for their lotion/​scrubs/​mud/​other)
If you look online at some other massage colleges you’ll see a dramatic price difference. (I can’t say whether their courses are better or not, since I haven’t been)
Side note: DO NOT sign up for a class unless you’re absolutely sure. (No refunds)

I absolutely loved my experience here! I enrolled in the night class quite a few years ago…
The hands on experience was great, I learned a lot here and there’s a final test of a blindfold massage so that you have to do it without being able to see and doing it by memory. The woman who was teaching is a chiropractor with her office nearby the school and gives student discounts. The school itself gives student discounts for products and services as well so that’s always nice. If you need a cheap massage this is the place to go there are students and newly acquired massage therapists available here.
My only gripe was I was about 10 hours short for my diploma and they didn’t let me make up my hours when I was available so after spending all the money to go through the course and nearly finish my time expired to finish my hours and nothing ever came of it… bad times!
