I cannot say enough about KN Construction. They are fantastic! We started a backyard project last summer with another contractor, who was a complete nightmare causing significant damage to our property and wasting 4 months of the summer. I called KN Construction and they were absolutely amazing. Adriana was extremely responsive, helpful, and walked us through the process. Keith was extremely knowledgable, offered some great suggestions on how to fix the damage, and provided a very cost effective solution to getting the backyard we wanted. Keith’s crew did exceptionally high-quality work, were clean and pleasant, and fast/efficient(KN fixed our backyard and rebuilt our outdoor kitchen and arbor in 3 weeks). We are grateful for all everything KN Construction did for us and highly recommend them.

I called and spoke to Jessica, who is very friendly and helped set-up an appointment with Keith Neumann(the owner). The job is to repair/replace dry rot damage on balcony and wood trim that goes round the house. Keith came out and appear to be very understanding about my need to keep cost low. So, he suggested that I can paint the new balcony and wood trim myself. For flexibility, he will also provide a price for them to prime and paint. The estimate came in. Cost was provided for: 1. Remove and Replace existing Balcony 2. Remove and Replace Fascia Boad 3. Option: to prime and paint the above items. Total cost was less than $ 4000. When I saved up and was ready to move ahead to do remove & replace the balcony and fascia boards, Keith told me that my job was too small for them. There is a $ 4000 minimum for the job that they take. I would think that he should have mentioned that«$ 4000 minimum per job» when he first came to do the estimate. Then Jessica e-mailed that KN Construction can do item 1, 2&3 for a discount. When I called Jessica and explained that I only wanted them to replace the balcony and fascia and take Keith’s suggestion to paint myself. Jessica told me that they would then have to charge to pre-prime the wood, so that I can paint it myself. I asked her where did the«pre-prime» come from. It was never mention in the quotation. And why when I am ready to move forward with the project, KN Construction starts to ham and haw about how small my project is. Her reply, «I’m not the owner and I am only a messenger. That’s what Keith told me to tell you». Bottom line, I will not give KN Construction a chance to work on my house, for fear that they will not finish what they started, until I pay them more money.

As far as contractors go, I am sure we can all say we have had our«horror stories». So, when my hubbs and I contacted KN to give us a quote and re-do our condo’s 2nd level balcony/deck, I wasn’t expecting much. However, to my great pleasure and surprise, this company has exceeded all expectations. Here is a bullet list of what has impressed me: 1. Open communication. Phone calls and emails frequent and clear. 2. Personable. Behaved as though we were people, not just potential money pots. 3. Honest and forward about potential problems. No surprises and up front about potentially«bad» things that could happen.(this was especially important because our condo complex is 30 yrs old, and Keith was clear about what kind of damage may be found as they demolished the existing deck) 4. Fair cost. 5. EXTREMELY competent crew. Watching them work was amazing. All are kind and have smiles on their faces every morning. 6. Professional all around: cleaning up at the end of each day, staying on top of project. 7. Actually telling us what NOT to spend money on ~ being attentive to our personal situation. Would I use them again? ABSOLUTELY. If we ever move to a new place and need a contractor, Keith and KN is our company.
