They often say, «3^rd time’s a charm!» This couldn’t be more accurate than in my case. I’m the Petitioner in my case, demanding shared custody, fair visitation, and freedom from financial extortion, against a woman who can’t see past her own psychosis. I’ve had 2 previous lawyers the past 3yrs. The last of which, quit her practice, as a result of the challenges in dealing with the Respondent in my case. I found Travis on Unilocal,and hiring him was the best decision I could’ve made. He’s an impeccable professional who doesn’t talk above you… he speaks to you, and shoots straight on the hard work needed to negotiate the difficult, and emotional road of a family court case. The ardent representation, and focused demeanor Travis exudes, is mirrored in his equally talented staff (Thanks TC!). Always available, and reachable by several means, you feel part of the process… not a casualty of it. This team will get you through the thick stuff. Travis has a fair and patient approach digestible for both parties involved, in order to resolve hard issues… that never resolve themselves. But this style doesn’t work for everyone… just ask the Respondent in my case. Most unprofessional person I have ever met. First of all the guy has an aol email address (yes aol is still around). Secondly he can’t be bothered to reply with one word to say required documents were received. Nor could anyone else in his office after multiple calls and emails. And finally, he actually had the nerve to use the word «cunty» in mediation. Absolutely no class.

Sad to write a negative review. I scheduled a time to meet with the attorney here. I arrived on time. And it. Looks like he began another meeting St the time I arrived. He told me to just wait. So I waited 15 minutes and left. I don’t agree that his time is more valuable than mine. And having me wait passed the meeting time is bad, but 15+ minutes is very unprofessional. Especially when I drove to your office.

Hello, its been a few years since my last post and I’m excited to share that I now have full custody. Travis and his team played a huge part in this win. I hired this attorney to represent me in an emergency hearing and he asked for more momey before the hearing completed. This attorney didnt even represent me but instead had an associate represent me which cost me sanctions in court because she didnt know what she was doing. Please do not hire him. He is money hungry and not only did he not represent me he gave all my personal information to myex who I have a restraining order on. DO NOT Hire this attorney

Travis was helpful and wise who spoke honestly and clearly. He knew when to fight and knew when to conserve resources. A very good advocate in a difficult time.

I hired Travis Whitfield to handle ny divorce after he said he never loses against my ex husbands attorney. I believed him. He way over charged me to the tune of $ 20,000. My original settlement with my ex was $ 20,000 more, so I don’t think we actually won. I feel very taken advantage of and stupid for trusting someone who my ex wound up referring his friend to Travis.

I recently used Travis in my divorce proceedings. I had no idea what to expect out of the whole process; in fact, to me, it was the scariest thing I had ever gone through, and I must say that I was grateful I had Travis by my side. I felt like I had a friend instead of a lawyer helping me along. He was readily available to answer my texts (yes, texts!!) and emails whenever I sent them his way. He was aggressive when needed to be, and hands off when appropriate. As most people, I had this idea that lawyers, especially divorce lawyers, are unscrupulous and without values, Travis had proven to me that there are ones out there who are just the opposite. When I was in the throes of my revengeful and angry moods, he would calm me down and tell me that the best revenge is to live a good life! What lawyer would say that to a client but a decent one? …I had to fire the first attorney I hired to handle a civil issue. I hired Mr. Whitfield and he exceeded my expectations!

I worked with Travis Whitfield during 2010 — 2011 executing my divorce. My specific dissatisfaction is with the second phase which led us back to court in March of 2011. Time after time, Whitfield would tell me he would drive the agenda in a timely manner as, time was of the essence yet, continuance after continuance was all I was met with.
After waiting 6 months for my case to be heard, in his haste to move on to another client waiting in another court room, Whitfield had mislead me regarding certain legal requirements, resulting in an agreement being filed with the courts to pay my EX an outrageous monthly support payment. Making the decision to have Whitfield represent me resulted in approximately $ 10k+ of legal fees, NO agenda driven, almost an entire year had passed and the only result he achieved was me having to fork out a newly awarded spousal & child support payment!
Whitfield is all about juggling as many clients as possible to obtain maximum billable hours. It’s all about «the money» more so than his clients best interests.
My advice to anyone considering Whitfield is «Think Again!»

Mr. Whitfield is very professional and has represented me for over 7 years. He knows his profession very well. I was in family court a couple of years ago, to do an adjustment on my spousal and child support payment, and he reduced the amount by $ 700 a month. This was well worth my time, it definitely paid for itself by just having a conversation and getting solutions from a professional in his field. Lots of gratitude to him since today.
