My son who is 8 has been attending this school for over a year and loves it. His art work is very nice and there is progression. It’s worth it.

This school helped me discover more about art than I ever thought! And now since studying art there, I feel like there are many more artistic options I can explore. It has been a great experience learning from Ms. Fuji.

This is a great school that doesn’t follow the mainstream culture of art school and class. Having experienced quite a few of these, I think LOL Art Studio and Gallery does it best. One of the key aspects of an art school is the approach. Mimi Fujii, who owns this school, takes an ambient approach. Walking into this school, you get the sense that everyone is calm, straight and able to do their art in the best way possible. Not only that, the teachers and assistants(which I was one for a year back in high school) are helpful, encouraging and willing to look for improvement. Mimi Fujii, the owner, has also developed her own technique that is based on flicks of the wrist and bringing life to the art. She is very helpful and patient and is willing to take the time to understand your skill as well as your child’s. If you have to choose between this and any other teacher, go with this one.

The Lord of the Light Art Studio is a great art school for children and teenagers alike to discover their passion for art and expression. Located in Old Almaden Plaza off of Almaden Expressway, it is a welcome addition to this otherwise run-of-the-mill strip mall. Mimi Fujii is the owner and head teacher of the art school — she is a very talented artist and a sweet lady. She has developed her own technique called«breathstrokes» to help students let go of their inhibitions and just draw or paint to their heart’s content! It is amazing to see what kind of art the children turn out, even after only a few weeks under her tutelage. At the last exhibition I was impressed with the work of a 5 year old … it was amazing! Mrs. Fujii holds classes for children during weekday evenings, and holds some classes during the day for adults. She has exhibitions every few months for parents where she rewards the children for the work they have done. The Lord of the Light Art Studio is a great place for children to grow, flourish and learn!
