I guess this is the same truck that’s posted in Valeros gas station? I found myself cravings for tacos after I found out my usual Phở restaurant decided to randomly close on a Monday night. Lucky me Los Jarritos was on my way home! The nice lady in the truck took my order of six carne asada tacos(not all mine by the way). Cost? $ 2 a taco!!! I like that there were two people in the truck to take orders and prepare the food… They make the tortillas and prepare the food pretty fast! Outside of the truck you can pack your own salsa, onions, cilantro, and etc. for your tacos! Now i noticed they leave the tray on condiments open, so i noticed some salsa dropping on the onions…(I ended up not getting a lot of onions because of that) Anyway, the tacos were alright! Freshly made tortillas were really good, BUTTTT the carne asada was pretty dry…(I’m used to a more juicy, tender, and flavorful carne asada). 3STARS for the price! *I will try their quesadilla next time*

I was over at Richard G. and Yvonne C.‘s place with La Novia, just hanging out, cathing up, and watching the replay of the Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight. Somehow, in the midst of watching«Pac-Man» use Cotto’s face as a personal punching bag, we got the«midnight munchies.» So the men went off in search of food and the ladies stayed behind to hang out and most likely, talk crap about us. Richard G. recommended this spot and offered to drive me there. He doesn’t eat a variety of food, but his Mexican recommendations rarely let me down. He always takes me to spots that go the extra mile(or kilometro by Mexican measuremant standards). After several minutes of driving, we end up a taco stand and my jaw drops. A freakin’ taco stand on the east side? Huh? But this is not your typical taco stand. It’s a bit bigger and can manage to safely fit three employees. But hey, this sholdn’t be a surprise as Mexicans have been known to safely fit 18 people into a mini van. Ba-dum-cha! George Lopez ain’t got nothin’ on me! Anyway, one guy, the owner, takes your order and packages your food. One lady to the left of him is working the grill. And a lady to left of her, makes the tortillas. Yes, this taco stand makes their own fresh tortillas and they are delicious. The have a variety of meat. I tried the carne asada and it is solid, but nothing spectacular. It is best to add some lime, cilantro, onions, and their spicy green salsa to make it taste better. But hey, at $ 2 a taco you get plenty of meat and fresh tortillas. So for maybe $ 4 or $ 6, you get meal. Or you can be like the police officer that was line before me and order 6 tacos. I guess tacos are not quite as filling as donuts. This is pretty much is as good as it gets for taco stands, but they screwed up my plain cheese quesadilla order and accidentally added meat. La Novia does not eat red meat and she was not a happy camper. Thus, I must deduct a star for that. Regardless of their error, you need to hit this place up if you love tacos. And please keep in mind, they are open late! Ajua! Ajua!

The tacos here are SOOOOGOODD. this is a definite must. they hand make all of their tortillas and the carne asada is juicy and tender. not dry. They also have a table with all the necessary toppings… cilantro, chopped onions, guacamole, mild sauce, and hot sauce. You can take the toppings to go. its all you can ask for! $ 2 a taco and $ 1 for mini quesadillas. you can easily get full for a couple of bucks! They’re also here till 12am everynight.

The best hand made tortillas. Great meats. I always get carne asada but my bf has tried them all and really likes the pastor. I tried this place after I found out it was run by the same peeps that own my favorite taco truck on Keyes and 10th or 11th next to the 7 – 11.

I stumbled upon this God-sent taco truck by accident, just like many of life’s wonderful things. Started to crave it for dinner, and I made it just in time for their 8:40pm opening. It’s a no frills joint that serves up some mean carne asado tacos. They have a self-serve condiment table directly to the right of the truck, so yes… that means you can load up on all the cilantro, radish, and onions that your little heart desires… I sure did. You have a choice of three different salsas, all of which are spicy and my fav was the hot little guacamole number. The four different types of drinks they serve are: pineapple, mango, tamarindo, and horchata. I tried the mango which was good, but since it was sitting outside it was room temperature delightful. I’ll have to remember to bring my own ice next time… Goodness, freshly made flour tortillas and a chance to enjoy my dinner curbside? I love this place :)

If you hear the things that go «bump» in the night on Tully, you’re probably close to the Los Jarritos taco truck and its airy parking lots that occupy Eastside San Jose’s finest bass tubes in the most candiest of colored cars. Located either in front of the Sleep Train or the Valero’s gas station, depending on the location of the moon, I assume, Los Jarritos pops up from nowhere and shines as beacon for your night time carne asada craving. The Tacos Al Pastor are excellent. Tortillas are made fresh within the truck, and there are several choices in meat. Tacos can be dressed to your liking with the various salsas and condiments on the side of the truck. Four types of aguas frescas are available in large ladle-equipped jugs, but since they’re in the open, drink at your own discretion. I always go for the meaty, chunky, freshly prepared carne asada tacos, and I wash that down with some tasty mango drank. The menu is rather limited. Though they offer burritos and quesadillas, I wouldn’t swear by ‘em since their fixings are simple. Los Jarritos satisfies those late night hunger pains better than the two/four/six tacos at Jack in the Crack, just don’t forget to bring cash, because the only card accepted is your ghetto pass… That is, if you have one.
