Mussman Design Associates

I engaged Mussman Design Associates (Stan And Andrea) to undertake a pretty massive redesign of a living room and entry area. The home is approximately 30 years old and it would appear that none of the prior owners really undertook significant efforts.
The lynchpin of the room was a floor to cathedral ceiling fireplace (that once was red brick painted white). It was a massive structure and cried «old, replace me, please!!!». I had many «restrictions»… there were pieces I couldn’t bear to part with (a chair that was my favorite from the year my son was born) … and I was not a window treatment person.
Stan and Andrea showed amazing talent, patience and budgetary discipline. The results are stunning. The new fireplace is a centerpiece — and a work of art! The entryway features a ersatz Chihuly that is just «to die for». Every piece of furniture, every fabric, every texture was so carefully vetted and chosen to bring exactly the right balance of warmth and modernity to the room.
That old chair? It got given a radical rebirth and remains, to this day, my favorite piece of furniture. Window treatments? Sign me up as long as the Mussmans are coordinating. And the color scheme is au courant but will age well for the next ten years.
I would recommend Stan and Andrea to the most discerning homeowner seeking a revitalized — but completely livable — look in any room of the home!

Mussman Designs has truly transformed my home into something I couldn’t even dream up. I had a specific budget and 3 rooms that I wanted to change. With a busy husband & busy toddler I gave Stan & Andrea ideas that I had and they in return created livable elegance. They are extremely professional & stick to timelines. Andrea was so wonderful to work with. We recently downsized to a smaller living area and I was struggling with how to balance everything I wanted the rooms to do with the right pieces to get great form as well as function. From start to finish, Andrea made it a great learning process for me. From helping me articulate my style, to visualizing the new space and even doing some joint shopping trips and then of course her skills in helping to pull it all together. Her recommendations were spot on my vision, budget and taste. The end product was just what I had hoped. Our family was so comfortable in our new space. I look forward to working with Andrea and Mussman Design again in the future.
