I like this place because they’re accommodating with your requests. You can order off the menu for Chinese dishes so long as they have the ingredients. Try the stir fried shanghai thick noodles with BBQ pork.

Just your typical Chinese restaurant. Although they try to expand and make some extra cash and serve sushi. I don’t know… seems kinda scary getting tuna sashimi there. Never tried it, probably won’t. But the chinese food is pretty decent. Prices are pretty cheap. One of the only non-pizza places that delivers around that area. Definitely not a one star, but definitely not a five star… then again, have you ever seen a five star Chinese restaurant on Unilocal?Seriously.

The worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. They told us they were out of rice then when a group of 3 came in for rice they magically had more rice and asked if we wanted to buy it. The only reason they all of a sudden had it was because it wasn’t worth it to them to make it for just us. The food though was the worst I couldn’t chew it enough to be able to swallow it. It was stringy I ended up just sucking out the flavor out of the chicken then spitting it out. And the work I pulled out at least 10 huge chunks of fat before I gave up trying to eat it. I’m not a picky eater when it comes to chinese food I love panda express, Mr. Chaus and even safeway, tv chinese dinners are much MUCH better. NEVEREATHERE! There food sucks and they are rude!

I’m really surprised to see such a low rating from most people. Just about everything I’ve had from Nature Wok has been uniquely different in flavor from most other Chinese restaurants. Granted, they advertise that no MSG’s are used in their food, and that they only use vegetable oil for cooking. But the flavor is truly a hearty, wholesome, feel-good flavor that doesn’t leave me feeling heavy or sick(like Chinese food often does for me). I must admit that my fiancée prods me to eat their more often than I’d prefer(as I’m not a fan of Chinese food and don’t want to eat it every single week), but Nature Wok is always a treat to eat(even when it’s against my will). The foods I’ve had from there that I truly love: Orange Chicken Lemon Chicken Steamed Pot Stickers Won-ton Soup Chinese Chicken Salad Egg Fried Rice Beef Chow-Fun Vegetable Egg Rolls

This place used to be one of the best around… What happened? I almost walked out when the server put my food in the microwave. I only stayed because of how good this place used to be. I took two bites of my food and couldn’t finish. If you want food you can eat, don’t go here

Was in the area after a long hike, and choose this place, ordered some a la carte Sesame Chicken, The lady delivers the food orders via microphone to the kitchen, Seemed like a friendly family run run-of the mill shop but the food tasted awful, very strange overcooked un-tastie sesame chicken.

Only reason I even thought of giving them 2 stars is because they deliver, BUT their food was just that horrible that it couldn’t warrant another star. The taste was either really bland or overpowering… no medium! The texture just looked unappetizing. Quick run through of what I ordered: 1. Hot and Sour Soup — Come on… how can you mess up hot and sour soup? I honestly can do to an Asian market, buy the instant hot and sour packet and make it better! Really really bland… no flavor at all! Whats worse is they asked for how spicy I wanted it and I choose their spiciest option. Yea… looks like they forgot to incorporate that part to the order. 2. Singaporean Noodles — Overpowering curry taste! I looked and tasted like they poured an enormous amount of curry powder into this dish! 3. Salt and Pepper Pork — Clumpy and soggy! My advice… Don’t be lazy and get delivery from this place.

This place isn’t going to knock your socks off but for what you should be expecting at a hole in the wall Chinese food place, it is great. The family who owns it is very kind and the family matriarch, who everyone calls mom, is funny, sweet, and willing to make your order however you want it. It is a great little place that sure beats the hell out of Mr. Chow’s or Panda for that greasy Chinese food fix we all crave from time to time. They also do cheap catering!

You may be thinking of eating at Nature Wok or having their food delivered because while their rating isn’t great, it isn’t the worst either. DON’T DOIT!!! Really. You will regret it. You have been warned. We thought it couldn’t be that bad and would give it a try. We ordered the potstickers, orange beef, Singapore rice noodles, and mushu chicken. The potstickers were ridiculously salty, and were neither steamed nor fried(which are the two choices) — it was more like a thick Pop ‘n’ Fresh doughball baked with meat inside — yeeeuch. The orange beef looked delicious but tasted burnt. The noodles — let’s just say Top Ramen would have been better. As for the mushu chicken, it was the least awful of the entire meal. After a few bites of everything, and both of us agreeing that though we were really hungry, this salty mess was not worth eating, this waste of food went into the trash and out to the dumpster. So one last time — SAVEYOURMONEY. DON’T GOHERE. If you want food, this is not the place to get it. Sounds harsh, but entirely true.

I was on my way to Central Wholesale Nursery and getting hungry. I stopped in a little strip mall off of Leigh Avenue and saw a tacqueria and this Chinese food restaurant. I hadn’t eaten Chinese food in over a week, which is a long time for me. Upon entering the restaurant it is typically decorated with the usual Chinese flair with good luck and prosperity items. There was a single group finishing up their meal and getting some of their leftovers to go. I wait at the counter not knowing whether to seat my self or wait to be seated. There is someone behind the counter but they are no response to my waiting. Finally the waitress who was helping the group with their leftovers motions for me to have a seat. Within a minute the person that was behind the counter brings me some a glass of water and some utensils. After perusing the menu for the lunch specials for a moment I decide on asparagus with beef. When I place my order the waitress informs me they do not have asparagus, so I go with my second choice the string beans with chicken. The waitress asks if I am Chinese, which I believe is apparent and starts speaking to me in Cantonese. My parents are from Southern China in an area known as Toy Shan. It seems most Chinese speak a different dialect of than mine, though many living in Chinatown in San Francisco speak the same dialect. Then she starts asking other employees at the restaurant if they speak my dialect. All I wanted was a fast meal, not an interrogation of my language. First I am served a small plate of Chinese Chicken Salad, which was okay. The dressing seem to contain too much vinegar and was quite sour. The main dish arrived a few moments later and was pretty good. I like my entrees to have some sauce, but not so much the dish is overpowered by it. The chicken had good flavor and the string beans were not quite al dente’, but also not mush. Overall, for $ 6.25 the lunch special was alright, but the service and interaction could have used some improvement. This would be a good place to eat again if I were in the area, but would not go out of my way to come here.

It sucks! I took the time to interrupt eating the food I ordered for delivery to write this review. I placed my order online through . I was looking to have a great tasting delivery. I was wrong. It seems like all the food has a gelatinous(kind of thicker) texture to them. It also looks a little gelatinous, like there was a thickening agent added. Let me run through what I ordered. 1. Fried Won Tons(order of 10) — It was… okay, I’ve had better. The sweet and sour sauce was very jello like. It wasn’t a sauce anymore! 2. Special Seafood Sizzling Rice Soup(Small) — The soup had that thick gelatinous soup texture. It was okay, I think my favorite dish was the sizzling rice part of it. It reminds me of the Knorr brand soup mix. 3. Broccoli Beef — I swear, they must have added a thickening agent to this. It didn’t seem fresh, I felt like I was eating a sloppy dish. It wasn’t that great to finish off. 4. Sub — Gum Pan Fried Noodles — I should have ordered plain old fried rice. The noodles had a soggy texture to them(albeit I did do delivery…), but the dish had that gelatinous texture again. I only ate the noodles and shrimp, but I’m going to have to throw this away. I wouldn’t recommend Nature Wok, it was very sub par of decency. I should have just went into downtown and had Chinese Gourmet Express(now that’s good stuff, kind of like Panda Express). I seriously going to throw the food away, directly into the dumpster. I’ll keep the fortune cookies though, it might make up for the iffy food.

The Chinese food is pretty typical and there’s not really anything on the menu you wouldn’t find at any other Chinese restaurant. The food is average. It’s a pretty reasonable place to eat if you’re on a budget. Has a lot of stereotypical Chinese characteristics. Based on the booths and the overall décor and atmosphere, it appears this place was modestly remodeled from a previous restaurant. There’s a lot of cheap decorations, including a few items that looked like they were made for Christmas. The name was a little misleading for me when I found it on Unilocal.I think«Nature Wok» is clever. But when I think«nature», I think healthy, wholesome, and organic. This place most definitely does not serve that kind of food. If you’re looking for a quick and cheap lunch or if you’re ordering out for a lot of people last minute, this place suits those purposes. Definitely not a place you’d take a date, though.

Nature Wok is one of the better Chinese delivery places in my neighborhood. Their prices are about average, but their delivery time is awesome and the woman who takes my order is always very friendly and has some spunk to her. My favorite menu item here is the chicken & mushrooms. It has a little bit more sweetness to it than most places, which is the accent that makes it unique.(it’s not make your teeth hurt sweet. Just barely enough that you notice it) As someone else mentioned, they have a family special for $ 16.99 which includes beef & broccoli, sweet and sour pork, rice(fried or white) and egg rolls. If you’re single like me, order this for Saturday lunch and you’re set for the weekend! Their portions are huge too. They jam pack the little boxes as much as they possibly can without making a mess. I’ve pretty much given up on pizza delivery since finding this place.

I came here to meet with some old friends. I rarely venture to this part of San Jose, but this was an easy place to find. This is a mom n pop establishment with your typical Chinese take-out, so don’t expect gourmet food here. But it’s way better than Mr. Chau’s or Pande Express. You order at the counter and wait for your food because your meal is prepared fresh! Since there were three of us, we went for the family dinner for $ 16.99(that’s for the entire meal, NOT per person!). The meal comes with egg rolls, broccoli beef, sweet n sour pork, and your choice of chicken chow mein or chicken fried rice. We also added a large chinese chicken salad. The chicken salad came out first and I really liked it! It was a little tangy/vinegary than others I’ve had, but it was good. The egg rolls are good and piping hot. The beef brocolli was also good, and the vegetables are fresh! The chicken chow mein was a little too salty for me, but had the right amount of meat. The sweet n sour pork was more sweet than sour since there’s a lot of pineapple in the dish. The pork is deep fried in a light batter so the pork has a crunch when eaten right away. Again, the vegetables in this dish were fresh and not overcooked. They have fountain drinks, as well as a refrigerator stocked with canned sodas, bottled drinks and a varied beer selection. They even have foreign selections such as Tsingtao, San Miguel and Japanese beer! Their menu is huge, and a lot of the orders I noticed are take out or delivery. They also have a catering menu available for those of you that need a potluck idea… The lady that works here is one of the owners(according to my friend), and she was really sweet and funny! The owners used to own Emperors Garden, near the Willow Glen area before the fire. They opened up this restaurant soon after. The Emperors Garden is now owned by someone else and not affiliated with the owners of Nature Wok. If I’m ever in this area again, I’d come back. They have a lot of dishes that I’d like to try

We always order off menu at Nature Wok and so far had not had the MSG experience everyone else has experienced. The owners are great people who are willing to make the food anyway you ask for it.

I don’t eat meat(but i eat fish) soooooo I gave them two stars because my sister and her best friend claim they have the BEST fried wontons. They drive all the way(yes to us its far) from the alum rock area just to eat them. I on the other hand only eat fish. Their kung pao shrimp is delish, but there is a slight after headache from what I can only assume to be too much msg. Their friend rice is inconsistent; sometimes moist and wonderful others dry and unfulfillable. I gave them three stars for convenience. Also although they aren’t very friendly they were always accommodating(swapping meat for veg etc) So If you want cheap MSG fulled comfort food lunch specials sure stop on by(be sure to have WATER) otherwise the pita pit is probably where you need to be.

This may have been the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I didn’t think it was possible to have BLAND hot and sour soup… and the tangerine beef tasted more like beef deep fried in sugar. I should have just had the frozen pizza in my freezer that I was so desperately trying to avoid. The delivery service was prompt and friendly though… so I’m giving 1 star rather than none. And the fortune cookie was decent.
