always consistent food. some restaurants the food all starts to taste the same. the owner is the cook and does a great job.

I ordered through for delivery. It came before the time stated which was great. The bbq pork in honey appetizer was amazing. The crab ragoon was dreadful. The kids enjoyed their sweet and sour chicken — I tasted it and wasn’t impressed. My lemon chicken was lemony, but not that great. Not sure how much of this was due to it being not as fresh due to being delivered, but I wouldn’t order from here again — except for the bbq pork in honey…

Fellow foodies, I am so sad this place isn’t packed. San Jose is a place for great Vietnamese and Mexican food, and in all my years I’ve never found a great Chinese place. Until now. If you know Chinese food, you know about the flavor of the wok. The waitress told my mother(the fluent Chinese speaker aka not me) that the chef is from Guangdong, so you know the flavors are legit. And you know how other places will make giant catering trays worth of fried rice at a time for faster, easier service? Not here. The really nice waitress says every dish of fried rice is made to order. The proof is in the food and friends, the proof is THERE. Even better, they have a three dishes for about $ 20 deal. Comes with free rice. And if you eat in, you get soup. For food this good, so local? I don’t need to make the trek to Chinatown or Cupertino anymore. Plus, the waitress was very accommodating when I requested the sweet and sour chicken made with fish. And again when my parents asked her tell the cook to make the dishes less salty. I cannot recommend the food and service enough. It is, hands down, the best Chinese in San Jose. It’s not perfect(the green beans were a bit aged and the sweet sour sauce a bit thick), but for the price and convenience, it’s top notch. They have a current special on salt and pepper eggplant and pumpkin and it’s the bomb diggity. Perfectly battered and seasoned cubes of smooth pumpkin and tender eggplant. The outdoor shopping mall it’s in is mainly of Hispanic businesses, so just look for the big stucco church in the back. The restaurant is just right of it. The mall has a big parking lot, so don’t worry about that. Some careless drivers though, so be alert.

Was craving Chinese food and this place was the closest to my house. The Food: We ordered(1) string beans with chicken. It was nice, crispy and very well seasoned. The(2) salt and pepper filet was not what I was expecting. The pieces were flat instead of chunks like I am use to. Seemed like they were frozen and not fresh. And we also order the(3) Mongolian beef which I did not eat but the BF seem to like it. Overall, it was okay for the price. The Service: pretty much non-existence. We sat ourselves. We waved down the waitress to order, for water, for rice, and(saw this one coming) the check. This place just wouldn’t let us leave!!! –_– minus 2 stars.

Got take out here for the first time. I ordered the $ 20 for three entrée special — Peking spareribs, pork with preserved vegetable, and deeper fried sole fish. All three dishes had the right taste. The fish was slightly overcooked, but still good. This special also included house soup and steamed rice. I will visit again to try other dishes.

I ate here the other day with my mom and grandma… they live not far from this joint and they LOVE coming here. I think they must come here a few times a week. The food for me is pretty good… the chinese dishes here are pretty standard and when you want no-nonsense chinese dishes… this place delivers. The main draw, i think, for this spot is the amount of food you get for the price. You can pick 3 dishes off their menu for around 20 or 25 bucks… which really isn’t a bad deal. The ambiance and staff are pretty typical for a non-fancy chinese restaurant. It’s located in an old strip mall… although there are times of the week that parking can get hectic here as there is a huge church that is located there and churchgoers fill the parking lot. One thing that this is pretty good about this place is that they don’t add a lot of MSG to their food, so if you are sensitive to that, this is a very good thing. If you are in the area and are just looking for some decent, casual chinese food… this spot is a good deal.

This joint is definitely one my favorite places to eat Chinese food, and I’m happy that it’s in San Jose. They have good quality food. NOMSGADDED. My family usually orders two plates of the deep fried flounder fish because it’s really tasty. It’s yummy for my tummy. Their service is great too. If you go here when it’s almost packed, expect to wait a bit for your food to be cooked, but it’s definitely worth the wait. I’ll be coming back here for sure.

i found this place late last year and was really happy to have such a great authentic restaurant just blocks away. the prices are fantastic with their 3 items for $ 20 special and the selection is enormous, ive yet to really try anything bad. the pork belly and salt/pepper pork are excellent and the chef/owner is super friendly but the compliments for this restaurant stop right there because the biggest demise of any restaurant in my eyes is cleanliness. we have been going there 2 – 4 times a month for almost a year, one evening we take leftovers home and the waitress packs it up, she says theres extra rice for us too. next day we go to eat and there is a cockaroach in the rice, got cooked up. we raised our eyebrows but gave the place another shot. couple of weeks later we have family from out of town and decide we go there, get seated at the large round table near the window and immediately see tiny roaches coming from under the lazy susan, i drop the salt shaker on them and we resumed our conversations. once the food came out i started seeing more and more of them, mostly baby ones but there were at least 2 full grown ones. i looked behind me and there were 2 on the wall. this place must be infested for them to be out in the dining area, i can just imaging what the kitchen is like, gotta be running on the cutting board while in use. my guests didn’t make a big deal of them because they are from the tropics and are used to seeing them. i did not want it to be so but i have gone there for the last time, maybe in china roaches are ok but not me/here

I love their food & friendly services. A+ for super convenience to where I live. My favorite is their beef with Chinese broccoli, shrimp fried rice & chow mein. The lobster is pretty good too. I like it how their food are not so greasy like most Chinese restaurants. Especially, the nasty greasy after taste. Best dinner deal $ 19.99 with 3 main dishes, rice & free yummy authentic Cantonese soup & green beans dessert when dinning at the restaurant. I’m a regular & will always be for as long as they’re in business.

I ordered through eat24 yay delivery. Food is supposed to be delivered within 60 minutes. 30ish minutes later arrived. Yay. Plus 1 star. And that’s where it stops. Ordered Hot and Sour Soup, which smelt and tasted as how I would envision hay would taste. It was blah. No flavor, no spice, nothing. We poured it down the drain. The Crab Rangoon was ok; lacked flavor. Mongolian Beef again lacked flavor, but at least it wasn’t more onions than beef. BBQ Pork Fried Rice tasted like watered down white rice with a touch of soy sauce. And the sweet n sour pork had this odd tacky sauce and tasted, yes you guessed right, bland. Notice a pattern? Sad to have had a bad experience with such an awesome delivery service. Won’t eat here again. Food prices aren’t the best but aren’t the worse either. But the food quality is poor regardless of the food price.

We heard that this place was under new management and the quality and service has improved greatly. They weren’t lying. Their $ 19.99 deal for 3 dishes is a great value. It now comes with steamed rice vs in the past, you were charged individually, even if not everyone wanted rice. The portions are generous compared to prior with the quality and taste on par. They also have a $ 69.99 dinner special where you have the option of a full Peking Duck or a whole lobster with your choice of 5 entrees and comes with steamed rice! Who doesn’t like FREE rice? We chose the Peking Duck and it was to die for! Crispy skin and tender meat! Better than the quacks I’ve had in Hong Kong and Beijing! Born and raised in SF, I have been spoiled with great, inexpensive, authentic and tasty Chinese food. Since moving to SJ, finding a Chinese restaurant that is half way decent has become a real pain. The New Hong Kong Kitchen is now my preferred Chinese restaurant in SJ.

Ordered here from . We ordered the vegetable fried rice, sweet and sour pork and the walnut shrimp. I gotta say, it was all pretty good. The food was hot, the delivery came within 45 minutes, and although it’s not the BEST Chinese food ever, it’s up there with the above average and pretty tasty league. Would I order from them again? Most definitely :-)

Their egg rolls were tasty. Their fried rice was ok. So was the cashew chicken. However, I will not eat here again. I ordered Ma Po Tofu, which was clearly marked vegetarian on the menu. The guy who delivered it asked for«Amy» when I answered the door, and then read off my order entirely wrong — but the order was actually correct. The only problem is, there is MEAT in the«vegetarian» ma po tofu. Tons of pork or chicken, it’s a meat lover’s dream. It’s inedible to a vegetarian. I recommend these guys only if you have no other choice.

Ordered to-go beef chow mein for the first time here and saw that they have a 3 items/dishes for $ 19.99 so I asked for a menu. Beef chow mein was good. The 3 items menu looks like a great value and is to-go-able. Will definitely come back to try it! The man who gave me the food seemed polite and friendly and thanked me as I walked out. Definitely recommend it if you’re on a budget and want to have a family feast! I have uploaded the 3 items menu and there seems to be many options.

Ordered a delivery via Food arrived with timely and hot manner. I was pleasantly surprised with how hot the dishes were kept over the nearly 3 miles distance. Dishes were decently prepared, but the house special eggplant, which was marked as vegetarian on , came with a lot of meat. It was probably a great dish for non-vegetarian, but unfortunately not for me. — — — -Update — — — - I think the House Special Eggplant is probably not a vegetarian dish. Two out of three times they came with meat. I think I’ll need to avoid this dish from now on.

Take out order on Christmas day: We ordered walnut shrimp, salt and pepper fried calamari and shrimp fried rice. It was yummy and It was ready in less than 15 minutes. They expertly vented the calamari so it wouldn’t be soggy! Serving sizes were huge. We will be back. Thanks!
