The hieu tieu nam here is just like Vietnam. So much better than the one on Alvin. The service is lacking but they make it up with their food. They have a chili oil for the hieu tieu that enhances the flavor. A hole on the wall that is worth trying.

The food here is excellent and 9.50 for a large bowl of hu tiu nam vang pretty decent. The restaurant is always empty(when I visit). I don’t know why this place is not crowded but definitely going to visit again.

Wow! I can’t believe I have never tried this place. I really enjoyed the mi quang I ordered, plenty of sauce and tender meat, with lots of fresh veggies to accompany. I tried the hu tieau dry and it was very tasty as well. Good xiu mai, generous with meat and noodles, appreciated the little touches like homemade sate and chopped pickled garlic as garnish. The ladies working provided friendly service – another great family joint – one of their kids was hanging out doing his homework, plus pretty cheap. They also switched the TV to Sunday night football to accommodate our group. I think I like this place better than Nam Vang, but not as rich in memories and I haven’t tried enough to say I would chose this over Da Lat. Was pretty empty and we got our food very quickly, with frequent water refills and check ups from the server. I will look forward to trying some more dishes off of their menu very soon. P. S. accept credit cards.

Hong Ky is no more and the new restaurant name is now Nhan Quan. Other than a rebrand, the interior is slightly different including a cashiers table that has been moved to the back. The menu and offerings are largely the same although the signature Hu Tieu offerings are supplemented by bun Rieu. Hu Tieu Nam Vang Kho — $ 8.50. Small. Generous portion size with soup broth to the side. Several meaty pieces of pork bone added flavor to the broth. Bean sprouts and julienned celery make up the condiments and the main dry noodles are highlighted by pork meat, liver, quail egg, squid, and shrimp. The noodles are clear glass noodles and cooked thoroughly so they are soft and warm. One distinguishing thing from the prior occupant is that their version had more garlic and I love garlic. Vietnamese Meatball — $ 1.75. A nice addition for extra protein. Tender and filled with more than just pork(I’m guessing mushrooms and garlic). Served with a distinctive red broth. Overall, I had a good lunch. Service is efficient but not particularly friendly and the décor is clean. For fans of Nam Vang, this is an authentic version of Hu Tieu that feels a bit homemade. Luckily the décor is both cleaner and the parking lot easier to navigate than Nam Vang. My top pick for Hu Tieu Nam Vang remains Nha Hang Saigon Seafood. Nhan Quan is cash only except for orders above $ 10.

I ordered Hu Tieu Nam Vang along with half Hu Tieu Dai. I usually love the chewier noodle version but have been disappointed at many Hu Tieu restaurants that they either under or over cook it to where the noodle is very hard to chew! It’s like I’m fighting with my food. Anyway, here the food was delicious. I ordered a large bowl, dry(kho), and Xui Mai. Everything was great, I would probably return because the ingredients taste fresh and ask for extra sauce for the Hu Tieu! They give you lots of food, veggies, and a big bone with your soup on the side. Great service, they carry out all my requests. Their food is up to par, and I want to try their bun rieu next time. Too bad this place doesn’t get too much business. But I really like this. My new go-to spot. Update: Ask for extra of their Hu Tieu sauce! I love their fresh herb ingredients I basically throw the entire plate in my bowl. I got a Small bowl this time filled me up. MMMM Love how the restaurant looks very clean– probably because it’s still fairly new but still +. Service is basic, not the best and attentive but they give you what you ask for in a timely manner.

Best place to eat for Hu Tieu Nam Vang in San Jose. I order Hu tieu Dai along with Chinese Doughnut and Pork meatball. The broth is really good come with bone. They cooked fresh meat here. Great customer service. Cheap prices. Will comeback next time.

the cashier(maybe owner) is really bad. She put a grim expression in her face although I didn’t do anything. She didn’t say thanks too. I’m so annoyed. I feel mad. Don’t come back again.

Nhan Quan looked empty when i glanced in the i hesitated, went in later. waitress didn’t smile upon my entrance as she did when vietnamese patrons entered. wasn’t acknowledged, wasn’t told/asked to seat anywhere, so i just choose a spot myself. she didn’t hand me the menu when i reached for it. she placed it on the table just short of my fingertips. Nhan Quan is a noodle house but no phở. eats: bun rieu cau(7.95) –lots of pork blood chucks, pork loaf, ground pork –broth mostly fish sauce, some msg, and very slight crab taste. –combo of cabbage, jalepeno peppers, basil? very fresh. –all noodle single priced, no small or large differential food notes –after food served, no service(the usual): –doubtful return, food is reasonable but just average(for even the east bay). –terrible run down, decrepit commercial strip, hard to find parking. –flatscreen tuned to vietnamese TV.

I’ve been here a few times to have the dry Hu Tieu Nam Vang with Chinese donuts. I think it tastes better than the Nam Vang Restaurant on Alvin Ave in San Jose. If you’re craving for Hu Tieu Nam Vang, give this place a try. The place is cleaner and the dish is less oily than Nam Vang Restaurant. They also have a seafood Hu Tieu Nam Vang that is good also.

Food was somewhat edible, but the service was just comic I ordered dry Hieu Tieu and my wife ordered hers with the broth in the bowl. The waitress brought out two dry Hieu Tieu noodle bowls, and we asked that the order go back as it was incorrect. Dry Hieu Tieu noodles have a special sauce on them that is not added when they place the noodles with the broth and my wife did not want it. About 5 minutes later, they return with the same bowl of noodles, just with broth on top. I guess they thought we were dumb — I feel bad that my wife left a tip

Okay now this is a weird and unusual vietnamese restaurant who does not serve phở. I was quite disappointed on the menu choices as well. Never been to a vietnamese restaurant that does not serve PHO! So i ordered the chow fun because I didn’t know where else to eat. It was not that great but not terrible. The staff was OK. I wont come back

We came there for lunch, there are 4 customers including us. We ordered 2 bowls of noodle soup, one regular noodles and one clear noodles. When they brought the food out we were already disappointed by how poor they look and even sadder because they taste nastier than they look. The broth was bland, taste like salt water, no flavor at all. We tried to finish our food but we can only ate 1⁄3 of the bowl. The only good thing is the meat is fresh, not left over from last night, I don’t recommend any one to go there

The food here is pretty delicious. I always order number one, pretty satisfying. I go here once in awhile. Im kinda suprise this place isn’t more busy. Pretty typical vietnamese restaurant, but hits the spot. :)

I owed this place a review since I have lunch here almost every day. They have the best mì qung ever! Highly recommend. But I have h tíu khô dai everyday because mì qung has only one size. Not sure why this place has less customers than Cà Mau. I think Nhân Quán deserves 5 stars: D
