Got a horrible puppy chomp and bruise the week before my wedding. Mortified and in a panic, I researched and decided to give leeches a try. It was really scary but the owner of this practice is so incredibly accommodating, she got me in asap after I explained my bridal circumstances. She is so knowledgeable… she’s like an encyclopedia. She’s also really calming and nurturing. This is a very uncomfortable experience the first time and she does a great job with keeping up distracting conversation… she totally gets that it can be painful. The sensation is made up of: nervousness, terror, shock, a few seconds of big pain and then fascination and possibly a desire to nap, read a book, or send shocking pictures to your squeamish buddies :)

Researched leach therapy for back pain for a loved one then ended up using it for myself for menstrual cramping. Ive had three sessions so far. I can say that after the second leach session, my second period while going through this therapy, was very mild. This has definitely helped me. I only need three leaches per session and any where from 3 to 5 sessions. Tamara will make the suggestions. The leach takes a while to fully engorge before detaching itself. They can stay attached for half an hour to one hour. Tamara says they are slow on a woman’s abdomen. Its harder to get a blood supply there versus your back, arm or leg where there are veins closer to the surface. I plan on using leach therapy for sports injuries to my rotator cuff and knee. Im so glad for alternative options.
