heard about this place, seen it alot on Berryessa but never cared to try it out. randomly came thru for lunch with my baby boy. so back in the day, this actual location used to be a high traffic hangout spot Taco Bell(only real folks will remember this-used to get alot of hoods and drive byes). nowadays, its a lil hole in da wall asian corner. anyways… simple noodle house, quiet, low key. ordered the combination 61… not bad but not great. came with pork chop(tasty, greasy), over easy fried egg(its an egg), salad(lettuce n frenz), chinese sausage cut in long half(overcooked), broth cup(it is what it is), and what stood out was the shrimp cake(it is wrapped in a chaud style wrap and deep fried crispy-very cool and tasty-oily but tasty) overall: 3 of 5 stars is just right

My boyfriend and I had been going here at least once a month until two nights ago. We had gone in late and ordered two bowls of Phở. Being a frequent Phở eater, I have high expectations in taste, but mostly, in cleanliness. Every time we come here, we know and accept that we are getting mediocre Phở in flavor and sanitation, but this time was different. The bowls had red stains and looked very greasy — as if they had reused an unwashed bowl. I thought, maybe I am paranoid and began to eat. Then I looked around at other Phở eaters and their bowls and noticed their bowls were clean and white. Mine was red and greasy(even before I added Siracha, like I always do). I quickly realized something was not right. We will not be coming here again!!!

We been here a couple times, food is good but service is very bad. They treat you like you are asking for free food. They need to get a better attitude. We won’t come back.

I work just up the street from this place and my mom and I decided to try it out this evening. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised when we got there. The restaurant has decent décor and the cleanliness was an A+. My mom used there restroom and said it was spotless and looked recently remodeled. The waitress was nice but a little stiff and cold but we understand there’s a culture difference there. She promptly approached us and took our drink order of a coconut durian smoothie. I had never had durian before but for an exotic fruit, the smoothie was good. She then ordered our soups. I got a #9(rare steak, flank, and tendon phở) and my mom ordered #29 beef stew with egg noodles. As usual at a phở place, the portions were huge and we didn’t mind one bit. The best part was that the food came out less then 10 minutes after we ordered it! Steaming hot, yummy broth, and great texture to the meat. This place is a great phở place in the area and i recommend you give it a try! We will definitely be returning customers :)

This my 3rd visit here(and will also be the last). I don’t expect stellar service when going to a Vietnamese restaurant, but definitely do not expect to be blindsided by ridiculousness either. My daughter ordered the beef stew with French bread(banh mi bo kho), and the waitress said«oh we don’t have bread here» …okay…I was so confused that I asked her again if they had bread. She goes«if you want bread you can walk over to Lee Sandwich and she can eat it here.» Wtf…really? A staff member couldn’t do that? How absolutely unprofessional. After reading the many reviews, I can see why this place isn’t successful. What’s is even more surprising is that the owner/management doesn’t even address these issues. I’m sorry, Phở Pasteur, you are losing customers. Bottom line, Unilocalers? Go elsewhere and save yourself from a bad experience. P. S. — though convenient, he food is substandard anyways…

Very good phở. Fresh and nice thinly cut meat. I’ve been here multiple times and they’ve been consistent with my order. I like to order phở tai(rare steak) with the tai on the side. The first thing I like to look for is the quality of the meat. Is it frozen, thick, lean, the right color? I eat my meat rare and cook it with lemon and so far I’ve had no complaints about the meat. Seems super fresh with just the right texture and it’s not thick. I love their broth as well. Today I ordered bun go hue. It doesn’t come with the pork feet or tendon. Good thing I’m not a fan of it anyways. They give you a good amount of meat and cured pork I couldn’t eat it all. Overall the meal was exceptional, I was satisfied. For those who complained about bbh here, obviously that’s not what they specialize in. The service over here is always pretty good nothing too crazy about it. I don’t know why people would give this place a low rating. I don’t know what more these people expect out of phở places really? If anything they are by far one of the recommended places I would refer to on the account I lived in San Jose all my life Haha

Not exactly authentic Vietnamese food, but it gets the job done. It helps that it’s 2 min from my place and open til 12am. I like the bbq pork rice plate and spring rolls. Phở is average, tastes like it has msg.

I am the type of person that is willing to try new things and taste new and recreated dishes that food culture provides us today. To the Japanese style of ramen and the commonly known, especially on the Eastside of San Jose, Posole, a broth enrich soup from the Latin American culture. Each dish brings its own pro and cons. I decided to try this place because I’ve consistently drive by this place and was surprise they have converted it into a Phở restaurant. After many businesses, in which had come and gone, and years of this begin a vacated area, I was curious on trying it. The interior of business is modern. The granite tables, clean and colored coordinated floors, and matching bowls and utensil, and simple style dining area, it brought a good sense that they consistently pay attention to detail. Of course, once you walk right in, you get seated right away. I was surprise that this location offered many different styles of Pno, rice dishes, hand drinks, etc. However, Phở Mai(for those who know what place I’m talking about) in Milpitas takes the crown for having their thousand list food menu. As a consumer, choice is good. I choose to have the pork and shrimp spring rolls and #20, which include squid, pork, chicken, and shrimp, all in a chicken broth. Within 7 minutes my entire order was ready. Amazing! The spring rolls were around $ 4.25, but they were good medium size. I bad spring rolls from other places and some become the same length as my pinky. I almost forgot that these were consider appetizers of how big they were. Well, the Phở was nice hot. However, I was disappointed. There are hardly any meat, and the broth itself lack of flavor. A upside was that it was not too salty, but was blan. My noodles were over cooked. I still finished it since the guy was nice and repeatedly filled my water, which is rare in Phở places I guess it’s a downside when you feel adventurous. Overall, my experience was a satisfaction, but quantity of food can be looked into. Keep exploring and trying new things. The food culture have so much to offer.

My husband been ordering the same dish since the Resturant started. The dish he orders every time is Korean ribs over white rice. But he doesn’t like white rice and he order fried rice EVERYTIME for an additional $ 2. The last 3 time we ordered we noticed the staff has been getting rude and lacking hospitality when dinning. . Today my husband ordered the same dish and they told us they will charge him $ 10 additional for friend rice . We told them we ordered this dish over 15 times and you always charged us $ 2. The was so rude we left and told them we will never ever return. And on top of that the Resturant was completely empty. I guess they didn’t want to work. Lol When I eat the beef phở. The meat is complete with fat only 35% meat. So disgusting !!!

It’s not the best but it does the job. It’s conveniently located by the house so that’s one major reason why we come here. The food is okay so that helps too. The broth can sometimes be a little too oily and other times just fine. I usually order the seafood clear noodle soup so I rarely have to worry about the oily broth like the phở broths. The service is quick. Don’t expect to get top notch customer service. Remember it’s a phở joint. Btw… The portions here are small. Ordering the large is like regular size at other phở joints.

Came in on this weird rainy summer day and we were the only ones in there and yet it took forever for the lady to even come up to us! Hella rude! She was rude the entire time pissed me off. They also seemed to be very chincey on the lettuce lol because they only brought me out one piece? My mom ordered chicken phở and we thought it was lunch meat at first because it was so thin lol but maybe they just sliced it super thin idk I’ve definitely had better else where! I will not be returning

I take notice whenever a new phở places opens in the South Bay, and I have to admit after early reviews I was a little careful, but I eventually got over the fear to take one for the team, and I’m glad I did. This place is located in that very small plaza where Taco Bell and Lee’s Sandwiches are, right before the ramp to 680N on Berryessa. If there’s no parking at the front, there’s plenty where the old Century 10 was, so accessibility really shouldn’t be an issue. The restaurant is quaint and clean, and you have the option of sitting anywhere you want, so you don’t have to have a server seat you. Okay, enough of the boring stuff. Like any phở fan will tell you, one of the most surefire ways of judging phở is by ordering the #1, and that’s exactly what I did. Like other places, the #1 only comes in a large, so come hungry. The broth is actually quite thin. It has a strong beefy cinnamon flavor, so I don’t think they pack much MSG in there. I don’t know if the noodles are fresh, but they definitely have nothing bad in the texture. But the meat? They put a lot of meat in there, and they’re not skimpy with the tendon and fatty briskets either. I mean — I gave up meat for lent and after finishing my bowl, I felt like I caught up with all the meat I missed. The broth also does a good job of flavoring too. The #62, Bun Bo Hue is also pretty good. Nice zesty flavor to it, and the beef is about just as over the top as the regular bowls of phở. The main thing I wasn’t a fan of was the noodles. They’re literally impossible to keep on in your chopsticks or on your fork, so that kind of messed with the experience. This places closes at midnight, so it’s a good alternative to Phở Tau Bay, Phở Saigon, and Phở Mai. Probably has a fresher broth too. I’ll definitely be back.

Their phở snd rice plates are pretty good and they open 9am to midnight. They are also very conveniently located near where i live. The quality of food is okay but they could upgrade the environment. They need a makeover. PS: they are stingy with their portions. Sometimes i only get 2 – 3 pieces of meat when other places give me 5 – 7 pieces in my phở.

The only good thing about this place is they open until midnight. I made 2 trips back here since my last review and sad to say, it didn’t get any better. I had the fried noodles with seafood which had close to nothing on top of the best of fried noodles. Just a 1 – 2 pieces of fish balls, squid, shrimp, broccoli. I was not satisfied. The bun rieu had tofu, meat, tomatoes, and shrimp. The broth sucked. Sorry but I can’t find any other nice way to say that it wasn’t appetizing. No flavor and although the prices are cheap, they are so stingy on the portions.

Best Vietnamese food in North and East San Jose and they’re open till midnight, Thank goodness this is probably my favorite restaurant in the east valley. Everything I have tried is very good or great. Rice plates are done right they look good and taste better. The Phở broth is better than most yes a little on the salty side but it is delish after you throw in all the tasty greens they serve with it. Very reasonable prices and standout food. If you are hungry for good food later in evening remember they stay open till 12AM midnight.

I think their Hu tieu kho was pretty good. I like how they season it well that I dont end up eating noodles and hoisin sauce. Their soup is a little too salty thou. Service was good. Food took a little long to come(today) but last time it came out fast for us. It probably just depends on days. Their portion is definitely small compare to other places.

I tried this place with it was still fairly new. I think they have a few kinks that need to be worked out, but I think it has a lot of potential. Plus it’s so nice to have a phở place so close by and in a good area. I like the way they made this old taco bell look like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. The service took a little longer than other phở places, with the menus and the food coming out. There is no phở ga on the menu much to the dismay of my dad and sister. I will say that the broth was pretty tasty and the portions were huge. I couldn’t finish my bowl. I could have used a little more meat though, but there were a lot of noodles. Hopefully they will tweak a few things and then this place will be up to par with phở kim long.

Came here for lunch the other day. The food was actually good. All of our appetizers were good and our actual phở was well flavored. Maybe could have had a little more meat, but it was good nonetheless. The one star doesn’t come from the food. It comes from watching a waitress wiping and clearing a table — she wiped the table part way, accidentally dropped her wet towel on the floor, didn’t see it and actually stepped on it. A full minute later, she realized what she had done in stepping on her table-wiping towel, quickly rectified the situation, picked it up and finished wiping the table down with it for the next customer. This was all in the dining room in plain sight of everyone. Very nonchalant, I have to say. Yeah, I have to say that’s a deal breaker. There’s a million phở places within five miles of here and I’ll try elsewhere.
