Pinehurst Cabana Club

This place is horrible and cannot compete with any swimming schools where we took lessons before in the south bay area.
1. The swimming lessons are not well organized. Kids are not assigned at the right level.
2. The front desk person is inpatient and not helpful.
3. The instructors are not professional and NOT TEACHING but just staying with the kids in the water. I do not believe they hired professional swimming instructors, probably just some college kids who happen to be able to swim.
The only good thing here is that the instructors are all very nice to kids. But if you want your kids to learn swimming skills, keep away from this place.

Ok. I honestly love this place. Took lessons here for about the whole summer. The pool can have low temps but it’s great in the summer. One question though, if we have kids who are taking lessons, are we allowed to go into the pool?

$ 55 a week for non-​members is a great price for these semi-​private lessons. My 5 year old daughter made huge improvements by the end of week 2, since she never took lessons before. We had 6:30pm sessions for 30 minutes each from Monday — Thursday. It’s a better deal if you can do morning or afternoon sessions but I have a job and my wife works.
The first week, I think they pushed a little too hard, but we had a different instructor the second week and my daugher showed amazing improvements. The nice thing is that the section they teach in is only 3.5 feet deep. My biggest complaint is that they need to start on time, especially since you only get 30 minutes. Sometimes they would start 5 minutes late or end a few minutes early.
The first week there was definitely more structure with the teacher than the second week and I liked that there were only 2 girls total instead of the 3 total the second week.
Pros: can’t beat the location, price and small groups
Cons: don’t always start on time and always have structure
I’m definitely coming back next year with all 3 of my daughters.

This is a great cabana club with good lesson rates. Both my daughter and I took advantage of the lessons and we have both learned a lot in a short period of time. The staff is friendly too. I highly recommend checking this place out.
