I took my child to Dr. Yoshida for an exam and cleaning. We were told he needed a filling and it was a horrendous experience. Because this was my first experience with a pediatric dentist, I didn’t know what to expect. We had told the hygienist that my son was afraid of hospitals and dental offices because of needles, but the dentist said he doesn’t believe in sedation and that everything should be fine. It took 4 grown adults to hold my son down while they gave him a numb shot. And the needle was huge! Everything happened so fast that I didn’t realize what was going on. After a quick filling and a crying spell for good half an hour, my son was calmed. Unfortunately, that was not the worst part. We were billed $ 200 for ONE filling and it came out after TWO days! At the time, I had no idea what fillings costs until I spoke to my dentist and he said that was high. All in all, from the dingy décor and cheap dollar store«prizes» to most importantly the treatment and the cost of this place, this office is ridiculous! Look elsewhere!

Ugh. What a nightmare of a place to send my 4 year old. It turned out my poor little guy had a couple cavities on his back teeth. Come to find out later from a different dentist, that his teeth are spaced really close together and that’s where the problems were. I should have known as I can barely get the floss back there. Without even asking about the diet I give my kids, the dentist launches in to a full lecture about how I shouldn’t give my kids cookies and should instead choose ‘healthier options’. Mind you, this was in front of two other families in the main dental area… mortifying! I barely let my kids have juice and am always strict about sugar, so this was laughable to me. Also later I called to get his x-rays to send to a different dentist, the staff told me it would take 2 weeks to get them. What? Isn’t it in a file right behind your chair? My husband got on the phone with them and surprise, surprise– I was able to pick them up that day.

I HEARTHEARTHEARTDRYOSHIDA!!! my whole family does! he was my pediatric dentist when i was a kid and if the chairs weren’t made for kids he’d probably still be my dentist. the waiting room has lots of children’s books and a video game system to play with. i was never afraid to go or uncomfortable while i was there and dr yoshida is just the sweetest and he has the most kind face how could any kid be afraid. after our check ups we always got lots of prizes of trident gum and a toy from the treasure chest.
