A solid good place to recycle your cans and bottles.
I’ve been to this place a few times (hey, I drink a lot of soda!) and it’s been good to me.
First, it seems that if you park outside (with only a few cans/​bags) then the process can get easier. Plus, pulling out into traffic (Story Road where you can only turn right) is easier if you park outside.
Next, there are «self-​service» kiosks, but you’re going to have a hard time getting in and using them. You have people (homeless?) with bags and bags full hogging the entire thing. Apparently it’s not for «small» amounts like the sign.
When you drop off your cans/​bottles, understand it can be loud, especially the bottles. It makes it hard to hear, so bringing children is not something I’d do.
Finally, if you have more than 50 cans, you’re paid by weight. 50 cans is about $ 1.10. But if you have 50 cans or less, CA allows you to go by the count, and you’ll wind up with $ 2.50. Almost makes it worthwhile to make more frequent trips with less amounts (which is why I go there a bit more frequently than most)
Overall, convenient, good prices and no complaints about the staff.

Popular & fast service! They have a separate person that processes the cans, glass and plastic bottles which makes things go a lot smoother then one guy! Polite and executes well. It’s worth the trip cuz you get the most bang for your buck.

I went here this morning as a first time recycler. Because I had too much for the self service machines (about 5 garbage bags of assorted cans, plastic and glass bottles) I drove in the gate. It is a very small operation and therefore easy to see where to go and what to do. The employees were all very friendly, helpful and fast. Within 5 minutes of walking up with my bags I had my money and was leaving.
A big tip: if you can, go in the morning and get there early. They open at 9:00 and I arrived at 8:42 to already be third in line, with it fast growing behind me.
Also, they had a sign posted saying they no longer accept competitor coupons as of October 2011, but I did not question it further so I don’t know if they plan to again in the future or if they still accept some or whatnot.
Overall great experience and I will be back in another month or two!

I previously was going to RanchTown in Willow Glen to do my recycling then a good friend told me about this place. I really like it here. The facility is clean compared to RanchTown and everyone is very helpful.
I would highly recommend this location.

I’ve used this place before and they are horrible, the price they pay isn’t even worth the drive there, and the employees seem in no rush to help you.

I usually wait until I fill a garbage can full of crushed cans before I go in.
That last time I was in they advertised they match any competitors ad’s for rates. This was the first time I brought in the PennySaver ad for $ 2.10/lb to see if they really did. I handed over the whole PennySaver indicating the competitor $ 2.10 rate.
The guy then went through the rest of the PennySaver because he said thought there might be a different one advertising $ 2.20/lb!
You gotta know I’ll be back here for future recycling needs…

The location is convenient, the process is simple and they honor competing coupons so I’m really sad to say that I won’t be coming back here: enter sad face:
While sorting out my recyclables, I was approached by one of the workers. He asked if I was in need of any assistance and when I said «no» he came closer to review my progress. When he was shoulder-​to-​shoulder with me, he whispered, «Are you married?» Which I had to ask him to repeat over and over again to understand. I replied with a «no» and he proceeded to ask if I had a boyfriend… to which I also said «no». Then he told me to write down my number and not to forget to give it to him before I left… over and over again… to which I replied with variations of «no», «no, thank you» and «that’s okay»… over… and over again. He insisted that he would be a good man to me and he would treat me right.
Needless to say, I was creeped out. I actually might have thrown up in my mouth a little. Really? REaLLy, dude? I’m 23 years old and you’re AT LEAST 50. Not that any thing’s wrong with that (because I’d like me some Richard Gere or Johnny Depp, you know what I mean?), but 1. I’m not what you would consider, shall we say, aesthetically pleasing and so I’m always wary of people who approach me in this manner and 2. I’m not here to make a Love Connection, I’m trying to gets paid and 3. I said «no» like 25 times, bro. I think you’re suppose to stop after 10.
I tried to let it go. I mean, I’m Filipino and he’s Filipino and I know how our older men like to play around and I thought MAYBE it was a customer service technique to make clients feel good about themselves or SOMETHING (because it sounded like another worker was buttering up another voluptuous, unfortunate-​looking woman in short shorts and tsinelas — while it was raining)… but damn. I just kept thinking, «Oh my God. I’m not going to be able to get back to my little girl in the car. Please don’t kill me. Please don’t kill me. Please don’t see my daughter in the car.» I felt violated a week after this happened and I feel violated every time I think about it — like now! :shiver: But like I said, I tried to let it go.
So, 3 months later, I came back and the SAME DUDE tries to spit his game at me… almost EXACTLY the same way. And I won’t lie, I was a little offended that he didn’t remember that he had ALREADY TRIED THIS BEFORE. This time, I tell him I have a boyfriend (and I HATE lying, but I felt this might be a good exception)… it made no difference. THEN, he sees my little girl in the car. He asks if she’s mine, I say «yes» and he proceeds to walk over to my car and tries to talk to her. OH, HELLS NO. That’s where I draw the line. Luckily, I was already done and ready to go.
What a creep. Please don’t bring your children here.

They are now open 7 days a week. this is a pretty simple set up.
There are 2 automated machines in the parking lot, where you can put cans and bottles in one by one. those machines are open 10 am-3:30 pm, I believe. they dispense a voucher, which you can redeem inside.
There was a large handprinted sign on the gate saying «no glass today», but the guy unloading glass next to me said they usually accept glass, just maybe not in the afternoon? It was hard to hear him over the noise of the sorter.
You can drive up and park in the lot outside, or if you have a large amount of items, you can drive all the way in (only about 100 ft or so closer) next to the machine.
Outside, there are shopping carts that you can load your bags onto. You then take your items into the gated area and separate them by type, glass bottles have to be separated by color. put each item type into a blue plastic bin, then hand the bins to an employee, or wait in line to dump in your cans yourself.
Glass and plastic bottles get handed to an employee to weigh, the cans get dumped in an incredibly loud sorter. all the employees have to wear earplugs, so if you want to ask them questions, you have to yell.
despite there being a line, i was able to be served very quickly, everyone else there knew the routine. the employees work very quickly. you don’t have to show an ID to get paid. You get a receipt for the items you donate, and the guy at a counter hands you your cash with a receipt.
overall, i prefer this place to AMI on Coleman. they are a little more low budget, but i feel like I received the amount of money I was due.
