I took my two kids to see the dentist. One needed a filling in one of his baby tooth. They ask if i wanted a white or silver filling. I didnt think nothing if it until a invoice was presented to me for the next apt when the filling was to be done. I asked about the price and of course the silver was cheaper and that is the route I went with. They gave me a new copy of invoice and didnt go into details but wanted it signed. Once i got back to my car i notice that the analgesia was no covered by my insurance. I went back i to ask about it and she stated shot are free but since the dentist wrote for analgesia (gas) thats what she put. I dont want my kids under gas and feel it was wrong of them to assume that was what i wanted. I will not bring my kids or family to this place due to I feel they are not fair i their pratices

I must say I was beyond impressed with Dr. Bob and Dr. Jen (anesthesiologist). I am so greatful for the recommendation from my dentist for sending me to this office for my 2-​year old’s dental work. I’ll admit it was a horrible experience to have to put my daughter under general anesthesia but Drs Bob and Jen held our hand and informed us of exactly what to expect the whole way through (even when mom hand a breakdown in the waiting room). We even received a call later that evening from both drs checking on my daughter and once again informing us of what to expect. I most appreciate the fact that Dr. Bob educated us on healthy teeth habits without frowning at us for the lack of knowledge thus requiring my lil one to endure the treatment for her 4 decayed front teeth. We will definately be returning to his office for routine work.

I was on a mission to find a dentist for my 3 yr old son. This was going to be his 1^st visit so it was very important for me to find the right dentist so he can have a great 1^st experience. I asked friends & coworkers and did get a few options but none that really stood out. Naturally I went to Unilocal and came across Dr. Robert Fisher’s offce.
I called to make an appt and took my son in the next week. The office is cute and cozy. The waiting room had a few toys that kept my son entertained. When we got called in by the dental assistant, Vicky, she led us into another room with several toys on a table and a flat screen showing the movie Rio. My son loved the toys in the room, they were CLEAN and age appropriate. Vicky was great! She explained the process to him and is very friendly. She took him to get x-​rays and to my surprise he was cooperating. Vicky explained everything to him step-​by-​step in a way that was easy for him to understand. Next, we met with Dr. Bob who is AWESOME! He introduced himself to my son and explained that he will be checking and cleaning his teeth. My son layed down on the table and they put lil glasses on him while he put head phones on. There was another flat screen tv above the area for the kids to watch tv/​movies while they get their teeth cleaned. Dr. Bob was very gentle and explained every step. My son was very comfy the entire time.
I can definitely say that my son had a great 1^st experience. The next day he even asked to go back. Vicky and Dr. Bob are awesome and I highly recommend them.

My son has a big cavity and it was very important for me to find the right dentist for him so that he would have a positive attitude about going to the dentist. This office is very welcoming for kids and they have lots of toys to keep them occupied. Dr. Bob is very friendly and his staff is too. My son, like any other toddler was all over the toys but he did very good overall. We have to go back to get his tooth fixed but they offer great payment options and are very good in explaining what the procedure will be like. I would give them five stars but i want to see how they handle my son when i go back for the pulpotomy.

Urgent response to child in pain — ONE star. My son was complaining his teeth hurt, and I would like to have walked away from my initial visit with them having done something immediately for him. Instead, they scheduled him for two weeks later. Later, I was annoyed when they didn’t want me to put off half the dental work (the half that wasn’t hurting him) until next calender year so the deductible resets. I felt it was hypocritical that when I wanted to take urgent action, apparently my son’s pain didn’t warrant urgency, but when I needed to postpone due to finances, suddenly it WAS urgent.
Wait time — TWO stars. I sat in the waiting room for a long time, then again in another room where they discuss financials. The appt was too long ago for me to remember exactly how long I waited, but I definitely remember that I was not seen within 5 – 15 mins of my appt time.
Children’s entertainment — FIVE stars. TV screens in every room, including ceiling-​mounted for the kids to watch during the procedures. Popular disney videos always playing. They even let my son put in a DVD he’d brought from home. Plenty of in-​house toys, as well as take-​home trinkets after the visit. This is definitely a great place to take your kid.
Lying to parents about pain — ONE star. They repeatedly try to tell you, both verbally and in the hand-​outs, that if your kid cries, it’s just because they don’t like having to keep their mouth open etc…, not because they’re in pain. BULL doo-​doo, don’t insult my intelligence. Dental work hurts, it’s that simple. I’m sure the pain meds helped a lot, but if he’s crying, he’s hurting, and shame on you for trying to tell me otherwise.
Patronizing parents with euphemisms about the straight-​jacket — TWO stars. For kids who can’t sit still, they have this thing they call a «papoose board» to make it sound all touchy-​feely like native american indian mommies, but face it people, it’s a straight-​jacket and it’s gawd-​awful to watch them put your kid into it.
Not letting parents stay in the room with the child, or at least view through an observation room — ONE star. I get it, parents can be more anxious than the kid, and the kids can feed off the anxiety. We can also get in the way, and interrupt the procedure, making it take longer. But after I read that horrific news story about the doctor who was raping toddlers for 10 years by taking them away from their parents for just a matter of minutes to «pick a toy,» I NEVER want to let my son out of my sight with strangers, and I think all doctor’s offices need to become sensitive to that.
My son’s comfort — FIVE stars. My son was totally fine. He’s a rambunctious hyperactive wiggly toddler, but the sedation drink worked really well on him. He had no problem being wrapped up in the straight-​jacket, getting the pulse-​ox clipped to his toe, putting on the glasses and gas mask. He was relaxed and compliant to everything the nurses and Dr. Bob needed him to do. He did cry a little towards the end, but they brought him out to me immediately as soon as they were done. He was anxious to hurry up and go home, and took a LOOONG nap, just like Dr. Fisher said was likely.
Financing plan — ONE star. The interest rate is too high. You’re better off paying in full using a credit card that has a lower interest rate then Dr. Fisher’s office.
Financial honesty — FIVE stars. This is what prompted me to write this review. In a week where my landlord cheated me on my deposit, school pictures arrived with only half the pics I paid for, and AT&T overbilled me for internet, it was SUCH a relief to find a check in the mail from Dr. Fisher. My ins had paid more than anticipated, and they sent me the refund before I’d even realized it was due to me. Thank God, one less thing for me to have to fight to get my money!

I have been bringing my daughter to Dr. Bob since she was 3 yrs. old (she is now 6) and she thinks it’s such a treat to go to the dentist! The staff is very pleasant, and Dr. Bob is WONDERFUL! He makes both parent and child feel very welcome, and most importantly, very comfortable being in a place that one normally associates as a scary place. I highly reccomend Dr. Bob to any parent that is looking for someone for the children!

This MAY sound a little naïve, but before I took my kids to see «Dr. Bob,» I had NO idea there were people who specialized in children’s dentistry. (I know I never went to one!) I had been taking my two youngsters (my son, 4 and daughter, 7 at the time) to my dentist. Although he is very good, he wasn’t very warm or patient with my very nervous and emotionally/​dentally distressed daughter. Understandably, my dentist would become visibly frustrated with a crying and borderline hysterical child. After multiple visits and attempts by him (and bribes by me) to get her to take a shot so he could do some much needed work on her, he begrudgingly referred us to Dr. Fisher. I now understand why he didn’t want to refer us… My kids would be GONE forever from his patient list.
I was completely amazed with the office environment and staff. The office is so kid-​friendly with the reading material, toys, movies and VIDEO GAMES! They staff has incredible patience for the higher-​maintenance children. Every time I see a staff’s hand comfortingly squeeze a child’s shoulder, I am touched by the amount of care they put into their work. When they communicate with the children, it’s never in a patronizing or down-​talking kind of way. They clearly communicate everything they’re going to do, before they do it so the child is never caught off guard. The kids get CONSTANT affirmations for good behavior and very comforting and understanding affirmations for the less cooperative child. (I had one of EACH.)
By the time my daughter got around to seeing him, she needed extensive dental work. After the initial examination, the doctor sat with me and explained in detail everything that needed to be done (and why) and how he was going to do it. Due to the amount of work that needed to be done — some on EVERY quadrant of her mouth, he passionately suggested that she be put under general anesthesia. (His office makes no money on this… All general anesthesia is on a separate bill that goes to another business — also awesome to work with.) We would be able to knock everything out in one trip and it wouldn’t be a traumatic experience for her. I was a little emotional (haha, understatement) about the amount of work that needed to be done — Not because of my pocket book, but because it was a LOT of work that she NEEDED. Dr. Fisher was so very understanding. He actually got up to get me tissue and some water and waited for me to calm down. He constantly reassured me that I was not a nut-​case. (I could tell he’d done this before.) All the while, my two kids were oblivious to my emotional melt-​down and playing video games. A couple weeks later, her appointment went off without a hitch and my daughter recovered beautifully. Flash forward to a couple years later, and this child who was adamant about not letting anybody near her mouth now looks forward to her visits with Dr. Fisher and his staff. Whenever she has an appointment coming up she says, «I can’t wait for Dr. Bob to see how well I’ve been brushing my teeth!»
Thank goodness for Dr. Fisher and his AMAZING staff! I know that I’ve had to deal with my fair share of dental demons — And my children have no idea how amazingly blessed they are that they won’t have to endure the same. As a child, the dentist office was NEVER a place to look forward to… For my kids — it’s been a completely different experience.
I’ve also referred countless friends of mine. I have received several ‘thanks’ from my friends and family that have visited him. If you are currently shopping for a children’s dentist, please give this office a try. Nobody I know has been disappointed.

The staff was rude! Dr. Fisher was very nice. However, the way this practice was run would make loan sharks shiver. I have never had a doctor or a dentist charge me 18% interest on the remainder of my bill after he had received over $ 2800 from the insurance company. This is ridiculous considering that he worked only two hours on my son. This is pediatric dentistry not neurosurgery. The office was very old and dated. Considering that some of the staff was incredibly rude, this was not worth the price.

Dr. Fisher cured my son of his fear of going to the dentist. He is so gentle and fun. We don’t have dental insurance but it has never been a problem they price competitively. When you call to schedule an appointment they get you right in. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

My daughter was terrified of going to the dentist before we met Dr. Fisher. In the beginning, she was very skeptical and it took a lot of convincing to even get her into the car. She had a lot of damage and cavities in her teeth and I was shocked because she needed extensive work to fix her teeth. Dr. Fisher explained everything to me very clearly and showed me that I don’t need to be worried about the procedure. He suggested a good way to get my daughter’s teeth fixed and to lessen her anxiety. It was a little expensive but with the amount of work that was needed I thought that it was the best way to go. (I heard so many stories of dentists ripping off patients so I hope and pray that this office is NOT one of them…) Everything went well and the procedure was a success. After the procedure, he even called that evening to check on my daughter and make sure she is alright. I thought that showed that he really cares about his patients.
The office is very nice too and the dental assistants make the children feel really welcome and they even took the initiative to give my daughter a tour around the office to make her more comfortable with the environment and tools. Now, my daughters teeth are well and when we went for a check-​up she skipped into the dental office as happy as she can be and was ready to get her teeth checked! I could not believe that all her aniety is gone thanks to Dr. Fisher and his nice staff! Thanks doctor Bob for making going to the dentist a much easier job for me.

Having been a patient of the good doctor for a good ten plus years now, I can confidently say that Dr. Bob is one of the most happenin’ dentists out there. How many doctors are you aware of that go out of their way to ask to put a good word about them on Unilocal?Seriously.
Before even entering the waiting room, you’ll notice how there are a vast number of trees on the premises, making for a soothing natural feel, almost like something out of a painting. The area is well shaded by the trees and would make for a nice place to just chill at during those hot summer days… until you realize you’re surrounded by doctor’s offices. Literally less than a minute’s drive is the Square Mall’s Target, too, so that’s always a plus if you don’t want to wait for your child in the waiting room the entire time.
The waiting room is your typical clean light blue themed doctor’s waiting room. It’s always chock full of nifty toys and doodads to play with for the younger patients, while there are the expected handfuls of Time, People and other magazines to keep the adults busy. As for the teens, there are some gaming magazines and gossip magazines in the stash, too, if that’s your thing. Recently, a widescreen TV has also been added to the top corner of the room. For most places with widescreen TVs, something’s always up with the aspect ratio, stretching the full screen size to fit, but I was glad to see that as I was watching «Cars» on the monitor, the aspect ratio was maintained. Just a nerd observation.
In the main area are a good number of monitors (along with your typical dentist seats and such, too, of course) with the accompanying gaming systems and at least two controllers for any waiting patients or any tagalong siblings that the parents might have had to bring over. I must point out that the games (as well as the systems) are always up to date and enjoyable for a general audience. Throughout the years I remember sitting on the comfy couches playing Aladdin on the SNES, Tony Hawk on the PS2 and Banjo Kazooie on the N64. During my checkup today, I actually noticed that the room was upgraded to an XBox 360! While it’s somewhat upsetting that I can’t play the older games anymore for nostalgia’s sake, I guess it’s good to know that the place keeps up with the times. There are also some of those «hidden image» posters where you stare at the pattern until an image pops up – always a good time spender while waiting, not like you ever have to wait that long to begin with.
Whether it’s Dr. Fisher himself, or one of his assistants, checkups for the basic teeth cleaning have always been up to stuff. Whoever’s cleaning your teeth always keeps a cheery disposition without coming off as creepy to the older patients. They all also show good signs of getting along with the younger patients, who might have developed a fear of dentists for one reason or another. Even in the case of brat kids like me that would make a fuss whenever the slightest bit of pain was felt, the staff would always keep a cool head and just work on through until the job was done. Don’t get the wrong impression, though; I’m pretty sure I was one of the few that ever made that big a fuss about feeling any pain. Having multiple cavities at one time will do that to you.
What I especially like from my bi-​annual checkups throughout the years is that regardless of your age, the good doctor always speaks to you like a normal person. He doesn’t come off as dumbing down his language or adjusting it in any way based on your age; he simply makes general small talk with you as if he were talking with anyone else. He comes off like a good homeroom teacher in that sense. I always found it amusing that he’d choose to talk to me while cleaning my teeth, seemingly understanding every one of my mumbles in response to his questions.
As for any parents taking their keeps to these checkups, he always fills the parent in on things like cavities, braces, fillings and the like in a similar sense to how he talks to the kids. He keeps the technical mumbo-​jumbo to a minimum so the parents actually know what’s going on.
Having him as my dentist practically my whole life is a lot like having a nice uncle who gives brief visits every now and then. You’ve known him for so long, but at the same time don’t know much about him. Regardless, you know it’ll feel weird when the day comes that you won’t be seeing him anymore. I know it’ll be a slightly disheartening day when that comes.
