Visited this place yesterday for an Atif Aslam concert. It’s a older building but with a very comfortable feeling. It was a nice temperature and not too stuffy. The staff and security guards were pretty friendly plud we didn’t wait in any long lines(for a sold out concert). The sound was excellent! Bathrooms were very well kept which is always a plus with me! I would definitely come back for another concert here.

I’ve been going to the San Jose Civic Auditorium for many years — I love the place! Back in the 80’s, me and my old man had season tickets to SJSU Spartans basketball games — not a bad seat in the house! Over the years, I hit up various concerts — great place to see a concert because it’s a small auditorium, not like the monstrous cavern HP… whatever it’s called now. The building is old, has awesome Spanish-style architecture and exudes warmth and coziness. This past week, I went to the QuickBooks Connect after-party and had a blast at The Civic. There was a dj and food in the courtyard and later, a performance by the Goo Goo Dolls — SOFUN!!! The staff working the event was VERY friendly and helpful — uncommon in most venues these days(Shoreline, HP, Pavillion, etc.) Gotta give it up to my old friend, SJ Civic! 4.5 stars

For the Seven Lions and Give Thanks events, the service and employees did an excellent job of moving the line quickly, maintaining order, and guiding traffic where it needed to be. The bathrooms were well kept. Huge kudos to the employees and security guards for making both of these events run smoothly and making me feel very safe even with a huge party crowd. The only downside was no air! It was really stuffy and it’s like they forgot to turn on the air conditioning. No wonder the doors in the hallway had to be opened all night! It made the main room reek of body odor like a crowded Amazon forest. The sound system was good. I liked feeling the bass through the floor beneath me. You couldn’t really feel the bass in the seating area. At least there was always room for someone to sit down and was easily accessible if you felt tired. The bar is upstairs on the second floor. It’s a nice lounge area but they don’t have many options for drinks – just the basic selection of beer and bottom shelf liquor. It’s a little cheaper than other venues.
