I ordered 2 items and I had delivered to me. I was told that if you spend $ 25& up, delivery is free. The delivery person came and I was surprised when she told me my bill was $ 36.87 when I was told I was gonna only pay $ 24.95+ tax. I was charged for $ 8 delivery fee and tax plus $ 2 tip… I will never order from them again…

I used an App to place the delivery order but I haven’t received my meal after 2 hours I placed the order and I already called the restaurant twice. Therefore, don’t trust their promised delivery time.

Sad to see so many poor reviews for bad Chinese food. Makes me wonder what planet they’re from! This is a Vietnamese restaurant that happens to make a few extras. Their phở broth is delish. Their spring rolls are the best in town. Super leafy green fresh lettuce and grilled pork. YUM.

I had high hopes for this place. i guess I should have read more of the reviews for delivery… First, the delivery over Unilocal(Eat 24) said 30 – 45 mins and it took 80+ mins… Second, the food was obviously cold by the time we got it. Third, everything was disgustingly greasy… we had the wonton soup, fried rice, chicken chow mein, chicken wings, and kung pao chicken. The soup was ok… and that was the best. The fried rice was so greasy that I don’t feel good now. The chicken chow mein had a weird sweetness and used thin rice noodles. The chicken wings had fatty soft rubbery skin and came dunked in a fatty sauce… with no flavor. And the kung pao chicken was NOT kung pao chicken, but some very strange chicken, carrots, and celery combo with some sort of soupy brown sauce. I had traveled and lived in China, this is an insult to kung pao chicken… please name this dish something else. Oh, and I paid $ 50 for all this food. Needless to say, we have lots of leftovers. The garbage will eat well tonight… or at least it will be full… ugh.

Ordered on eat24. Delivery estimate was 45 – 60 min. When it was only 20 minutes late(80 minutes after ordering), we called and the restaurant did not pick up. After fighting with eat24, I finally got a call from the delivery guy saying he’d be another 15 min. Food took a total of 2 hours to arrive. Phở beef noodle soup was no longer hot when it arrived. The noodles were a gelatinous brick; inedible. Beef was gristly. Never again.

I had the Bo Kho here and it was terrible. The meat was extremely tough to bite into. It felt like I was eating rubber tires so I gave up trying to eat it. The soup base has a curry-ish taste, which is strange. The service was okay. I would not recommend this place or go back.

We had high hopes for this place– being the only Chinese restaurant in our area with more than 3 stars on Unilocal. Our food took more than 2 hours to be delivered, our order was wrong and the food was awful.

I love Chinese food… all of it. I have had Chinese food from many places around the globe. This is by far the worst tasting food I have ever had… more so tasteless I figure ok maybe I got one bad dish. But we ordered 5 different items/dishes PadThai/Kung Pao chicken/chicken fried rice/the only thing that tasted decent were the Vietnamese Egg Rolls. sorry San Jose noodle you have failed this meal. I can’t come back… not wont literally can’t deal with the tasteless food. Feel terrible for such a terrible review but… people This is not good! I cannot recommend this place

I ordered bo lac luc which is cubes of filet mignon. This is usually made medium rare which is how I like my steak. It came out raw as if they tossed it in a wok for 30 seconds and then gave it to me. Disgusted, we pointed this out to a waiter who said that it’s supposed to be made that way. This wasn’t even rare cooked steak, it was straight up raw. When presented to a waiter(we literally had to walk up to them because we couldn’t flag them down) he asked if we wanted it cooked and I had lost my appetite at that time. They did not apologize and they did not take it off the bill. To top it off, service was horrible. They gave us food with no utensils and then would run off before we could ask for some. It was like pulling teeth to get napkins and water. But the worst of it all was the raw meat. Just gross.

After a long week… all a person wants is some good delivery. And boy oh boy did this place deliver. I must admit the fried rice was a bit on the greasy side but full of awesome flavor. So now down to business: I had the filet mignon rice dish and sampler appetizer(don’t judge). The fried wontons, spring rolls and egg rolls we all wonderful. My steak was seasoned to perfection and the peppers and onions were a great addition to the savory brown sauce. What my husband had: coconut shrimp and fried rice. Shrimp was fresh and the rice was full of veggies and pork. Yum! Signing off, Full on a Friday night

We received our order about 5 minutes ago, literally. I am in complete disgust with this place we have ordered from here before and everything was normal as in any Vietnamese place. Strong smell with some gross brown things that have such a strong sour smell it makes me want to vomit, I also ordered extra chicken only to receive this garbage that’s does not look edible or appetizing. We have been frequent customers and this has never happened to us until now, I can’t even eat with my partner because my appetite is gone and the moment I opened that box neither of us were eating this it’s even on the noodles and honestly this is the worst experience I’ve ever had with food, I would rather have something bland or small portioned than this crap. This is the worst $ 40+ spent, we will no longer be customers because of this terrible experience, next time we’ll just pick up good food across the street. Definitely not worth the wait or money.

I never expected a place like this would be so great. It’s not because this restaurant is located In a questionable neighborhood, it is not because this place was empty when Gavin and I got there, it is because a restaurant usually has a speciality that they’re known for(i.e. phở, vermicelli dishes, rice plates, etc.) but based on my friends’ reviews and my personal experience yesterday, they are known for everything that they offer on their menu. At least what I had. Pricing is very fair, cheap even. They accept Visa/MC and they deliver, too. There is a small parking lot in the back and there is also street parking. The place is nothing fancy. The restaurant is pretty spacious. The only negative is the chopsticks; wooden/disposable ones. Service is fast and very friendly. Our iced waters were brought out first and then came the appetizer about 5 – 7 minutes later. The spring rolls were plumped and freshly made. The grilled pork was still hot. The lettuce were fresh and the vermicelli was fresh. The egg rolls are Vietnamese-style; pork! It was fried perfectly and it tasted amazing. The fried wontons were good but my least favorite out of the two. The phở(tai and bo vien) was good. One size only so it was perfect since I cannot order w/my eyes. I gave more than half of it to Gavin whilst I drenched mine w/Sriracha and bean sprouts. The broth, before I put Sriracha in it was very flavorful. The meats were tender. I want to come back again tonight.

This place rocks! I came here for the first time for a refueling meal after walking13 miles from SJ to Fremont(epic idea my friend came up with) I am a big Vietnamese rice plate fan and this place does it good. Their grilled pork with fried egg is on point. My friend had Phở and she looked happy as a clam. Service was better than most Viet places, asking for water after ordering didn’t earn me a dirty look lol. The large white board by the register statin they don’t accept coupons whatsoever makes this place funny and special to me :) Pros: Delicious rice plates and Phở Cons: Can get very busy Bottom Line: Good vietnamese food and service near Japantown

Came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. We kinda missed it at first since it’s kinda small. The parking is behind the restaurant and you have to go to the side to find the parking. We ordered the sampler which comes with wonton, eggrolls, and spring rolls. They were all pretty good nothing too special. We also got the beef stew with egg noodle and the phở. The beef stew had good flavor, noodles were nice, the meat was a bit too fatty so I did not like that. The phở wasnt too bad nothing too special. The server was very very nice. Not sure her name. Might only come back if I don’t feel like driving far.

A PLUS… THEYDELIVER! Located just on the rim of Downtown San Jose, lies this unpretentious noodle bar that we had overlooked so many times. Located on 13th Street, next to a Mexican Taqueria, it can easily be missed as it blends into the older, drab colors of its surroundings. Don’t let its location deter you! Our first visit was dine in; our subsequent visit was take out. Amazingly, our take out was just as good, if not better than our dine in food. Our dishes were nicely arranged and neatly packaged while our Coconut Prawns were as crispy as ever. We did advise the owner to leave the container open to vent so our prawns would not get soggy. Some of our favorites: * Diced Filet Mignon w/White Rice ~ the most deliciously seasoned, moist and tender beef I’ve ever had at a Vietnamese restaurant. Simply mouthwatering! * Beef Stew ~ Deliciously savory! My husband loved this tomato-based soup. * Coconut Butterfly Shrimp ~ So crispy and light! It is served with a sweet Chili sauce. We’ve also enjoyed: * Spicy Sate Peanut Soup ~ A soup with a light peanut broth. It could have used a bit more peanut flavoring but was good nonetheless. I asked for egg noodle in this dish. * Fried Spring Rolls ~ A good, basic staple. Instead of a bed of shredded lettuce, I would have preferred lettuce wraps to encase the rolls. According to the owner, since they do not receive a lot of foot traffic in the area, they do quite a lot of business with their togo orders. They charge a minimal fee for delivery: $ 3 up to 2 miles, $ 6 from 2.1−7 miles and $ 8 from 7.1−12 miles, which is pretty fair considering that one does not have to leave the comforts of home to enjoy a good meal.

I lived in this neighborhood for a full two years before discovering this gem. It doesn’t have a great deal of atmosphere, but the food is great, it is healthy, and it is a terrific value. I now visit this restaurant a few times a week. I brought a few people over from work and now they are coming on their own. The dishes I enjoy most are: 1) The grilled shrimp and pork over vermicelli noodles, which is actually delicious and plentiful and a great value for $ 9. 2) A daily special with shaken beef(filet mignon) cooked with onions and bell peppers and including a side of fried rice for only $ 10. 3) A huge soup bowl called«the beast», which contains chicken, beef, meatballs, stuffed wonton, vermicelli noodles, and other ingredients I can’t remember. $ 10. 4) Phở combo #1. There’s a lot of media coverage these days about the health benefits of bone broth. What better way to enjoy it than Phở? Another thing I find great is the parking in the rear and the fast service. I am submitting images of the first two items separately.

Hole in the wall Vietnamese goodness! While generally in cold weather we go straight for phở, but I had been craving a rice plate for a long time. This place was pretty close and the reviews were pretty good, so figured I’d give it a shot. The place had a small crowd for a late lunch, and people kept coming in as I ate. I figured I’d get a good selection so started with the lychee drink and an appetizer sampler: a huge fresh roll, a fried spring roll, and some fried wontons. The peanut sauce was warm and excellent and really helped make the fresh rolls. The fried spring rolls were pretty greasy but not bad. The fried wontons were a bit better. The lychee drink was cool and delicious. Before I even had tried a piece of each of the sampler I got my lemongrass pork. Now Porky’s SJ does spoil you on the quantity of pork, but this was really good. perfectly cooked, great rice, and downed the soup that comes with it. As Janet mentions, I would have preferred better veggies. Regardless, between the two options, I had enough for dinner that night as well. I asked for a togo menu, and the owner mentioned that while it is the same menu, the prices are outdated as they were from the previous owners. The new owners have had the place for about a year, which is why you’ll notice the recent reviews are much better than older ones. The staff were all very nice and the owner asked how my meal was. Always like when that happens. Note: There is a parking lot out back. Didn’t realize this at first.

Four years ago I rated this place a three star place based on their phở. I noticed that they’ve gotten more love from Unilocalers over the years. This year I’m all about starting over and giving second chances to just about everyone and everything. That includes people I’ve basically«rated» based on someone’s else’s opinion. Never again! So last night I ordered #37 Lemon Grass Pork rice plate. It was really good. The pork was very tasty and the flavor was outstanding. The portion was damn good. The only thing I’d like to be more aggressive was their pickled veggies. It was just a tad weak. There’s still parking in the back. Of course there’s almost always parking in front. Service was great. Attentive. I’m sure to be back!

Lately I’ve been going through this phase of craving Asian food all the time. Yes I’m Asian but it’s not my go-to type of meal. Enter San Jose Noodle. Crossed paths with this on app Eat24. Simply entered the order and pick up. Came time to pickup my order and despite Google Maps, I almost missed the place. The food was ready and was greeted once I entered the restaurant. The girl was friendly and made small talk, a lost art in the customer service industry nowadays. The wantons were crispy and on point. The lemongrass chicken was tasty and was surprised to see a sunnyside up egg in there. Mixed in with the rice there was no need for any sauce but like other things in life, I prefer a little spice. Chili paste and fish sauce and I’d say this is among the better Vietnamese-based dishes I’ve enjoyed. Until next time SJ Noodle, I see ya.
