Sassan Kafayi, DDS

I don’t know what Natalie L. is talking about. Dr. Kafayi is the WORST!!! I went into his office with a Groupon but was having sensitivity with one of my teeth. He seemed nice at first but what a nightmare. He asked me what I wanted to do today and I said lets take xrays and go from there if to treat the tooth or not and just reschedule the cleaning. He was okay with that. After examining me, he said his assistant would take some xrays and he would be back. While his receptionist/​dental assistant took xrays, he slipped out the back door and left for the day. His assistant couldn’t take xrays if her life depended on it with cone cuts on PAs and overlapping on Bitewings. I’m a retired RDA with over 25 years experience in the Bay Area so I know what’s going on more than most. She suggested rescheduling to retake the xrays and treat the tooth. Since he only worked 3 days a week, I had to wait 3 more days. But my tooth was getting worse. And sure enough, she called me an hour before my next appointment to cancel and reschedule. Now we’re looking at a week out from my first appointment with a problem tooth. I told my fiancé, he called his dentist in Sacramento for a referral. They referred me to an Endodontic/​Implant Clinic in my area which was perfect since my tooth was much worse with each day. They got me in right away and they were wonderful. When they were done, I went back to Dr. Kafayi for a non-​amalgam filling. He scolded me for not waiting to see him and going to another office. He didn’t care that I needed to be treated right away. I find him arrogant, insensitive, and narcissistic. Not qualities you’re looking for in a dentist. He never appologized for flaking out 3 times. The only work he did do, I had to have him resmooth the filling and he didn’t even match the color of my tooth. At that point I’d had enough and decided not to go back to him. What a nightmare!!!

Dr. Kafayi is the best!!! Every time I visit his office, I feel like I visited a dentist and a friend who really cares about me & my family and helps me make the best decisions for a treatment plan that is best for me. You will always hear him laughing and joking with all his clients before and after the appointment which makes you feel like you are in a comfortable place!
