I have complaint that they don’t care about the quality control at all and they put their customer in responsible of making sure the food is still ediable before leaving the store because they won’t refund you for any reason. A friend of mine went recently and wanted to buy their uncooked Tofu product. Because of my story, she opened the well packed bag and checked. Good for her, because that was a bad one with sour smell. She took the bag to the casher, and the guy just shrugged his shoulder and tossed the bag into trash can. Again, if you don’t check, you will end up paying for a bag of garbage in this store due to their no refund policy.

It’s ok. Not being a native Chinese person, I found some of the stuff to be gross. The textures of the steamed rice… ew and the yogurt/soy dessert had a nasty sour flavor. The sweet tofu with syrup was good. It’s all vegetarian here.

Used to buy and eat here regularly. The man(a co-owner, it would seem) who is often behind the counter eventually got to us. When you indicate the food you want to add to your order, he immediately barks, «WHATELSE?» His tone is impatient and unpleasant. It’s as if he is annoyed and bothered that you would be there, taking up his time, giving him business. It spoiled our experience(and appetite) to the point that we decided not to patronize this establishment further.

Amazing place for veggie Taiwanese food! They have a huge selection of prepared dishes such as bamboo shoots and vegetarian minced pork and rice balls, and although I haven’t tried their ready-to-eat food yet, those look delicious too. And of course their tofu. I LOVE that I can get any type of silken/fried/etc tofu I’d ever want. They also have a huge selection of organic products, if you’re into that. Unfortunately, they’ve been out of stinky tofu the past few times I’ve been here, which is a shame because they’re the only place around that has 100% traditional, naturally fermented stinky tofu that I know of. Please bring iy back!

This place is pretty awesome. I’ve been enjoying their goods long before I was shopping here myself. It’s rare to find vegetarian Taiwanese dishes that’s at all close to what it’s suppose to taste like, and here it is all in one place! Yes, they have room for improvement, and their prices are a bit high. I’ll still be a customer until I have some bad food or some bad experience!

A place showcasing the tons of uses of soybeans and tofu! We came for hot soy milk and freshly fried you tiao(aka Chinese donuts? Hot fried bread). Delicious.

Came here to try their famous rice wraps and chives cake. Very disappointed. Chives cake was not fresh and tasted very bad. The rice wrap was not tasty either. I will never come to this store again.

This place has been on the downfall over the years. I ordered a fan tuan and to my dismay, there was a cock roach egg sack in it! I immediately reported them to the health department, and to my further dismay, they have been shut down early september by the health dept previously because of maggots and nymphs! Clearly they have not improved in terms of cleanliness. Shocking. See the health report I posted.

Taiwan will always have a special place in my heart. Whenever I leave, I lament the good food at cheap prices. This place has got one of those two down. I’ve only gone there for breakfast but I’ve had their side dishes before(they’re good btw). Their fan tuan are good. They don’t remind me of the sketchy fan tuan lady stand that I frequented during my summer long stays in Taiwan, but they’ll do. The you tiao is a bit more doughy than I would like and the fan tuan itself is a bit heavier on the rice. I know it’s a «rice roll» but I like good balance in my fan tuan. Their soy milk was good. I added sugar. Idk about you but what’s up with Western grocery stores selling vanilla or chocolate flavored soy milk. It’s soy milk. Let it taste like soy milk not wannabe cows milk wtf. Anyway soy milk rant over.

This place gets worse and worse over time. I’ve gone to Sogo Tofu since 2012, and honestly everything is ridiculously expensive and it isn’t good at all. They used to have a buy 25 $ and get a free soy milk program. Now its 38 $. Yes, there is inflation but that’s just ridiculous. Plus the counter lady(boss) has terrible attitude. If I go in I walk out if I see her because when she grabs stuff, she doesn’t use gloves and it’s disgusting. I’m honestly done with this place. Have given it enough chances. Marina used to get their soy milk for sale in the mornings, but probably got rid of them because of the sanitation errors. They make their own now, thank god.

This was the second time I had Taiwanese breakfast items and it’s great that everything had tofu! It was a little bit pricey but it is definitely very authentic. I especially liked their vegetarian goose rolls with tofu skin. I don’t typically go to vegetarian places, but I would recommend this place to vegetarians and meat eaters!

This place is legit and a little more expensive than the Vietnamese tofu place I usually go to, but the tofu fa is crazy high quality. This has the silkiest and smoothest consistency of any of I’ve ever tried — including Asia. Additionally, this gets far less watery than others I’ve had — they have some kind of amazing secret recipe! Will have to try their other items soon.

I LOVE this adorable, mom-pop authentic Taiwanese hole-in-the-wall treasure :) PROS: — Ingredients are top quality — Everything is tastefully made… with love — So Much Variety! — Its vegetarian, but TASTESWONDERFUL — No low-class spongey tofu(thank the lord) CONS: — A bit expensive. A lunch box with three items and noodles/rice is $ 12.50 — If you’re not Taiwanese and have no idea what’s what, you may feel overwhelmed upon entering — Most of the more asiany things are marked in Chinese, while popular items are both in Chinese and Taiwanese I live right next door to them so I eat here all the time :) The owners are sweet!

This place has such a glorious selection of Taiwanese small dishes and hot food, you almost forget that everything is vegetarian! I love the homey-ness of this little deli, and the owner is super friendly and accommodating. If you don’t speak Chinese, it may be a bit difficult to order and/or interpret what the dishes are, but the owner was still able to understand my super Americanized, butchered Mandarin. I love the fan tuan and how they have several varieties — wrapped w/a fried egg, ones with purple rice, and even furikaki ones. I’ve also bought their frozen tong yuan with black sesame, and they were delicious. This place is a little on the pricier side, but I’m always happy to help out a small business, especially ones that make me reminiscent of home.

I just went in for the fresh tofu. The block of tofu was fresh and tasted pretty good. The complaint I have is that the counter lady sticks her bare hand in the container of tofu to get it without washing her hands or putting on gloves. She handles the cash register so she is touching all kinds of different things and not realizing how to be responsible in handling food. This attitude is most likely taken by all who work here so please get trained on food safety!

Excellent vegetarian spot with fantastic rice rolls! I came here for the sole reason of trying out their rice rolls. They’re served at room temperature and placed on the counter along other vegetarian snacks(gua bao, spring rolls, etc) The egg and the seaweed rice rolls were my favorites just because they’re unique and delicious. They were a satisfying and comforting mid-afternoon snack. Huge and at about $ 4-$ 4.50 each — just a tad pricey. I also ended up taking home a bottle of their fresh soya milk. I got the sweetened version — had just the barest hint of sugar and oh-so-good. They are good for 2 – 3 days in the fridge. Owner was fantastic; very helpful and offered me warm, complimentary soya bean milk as I waited for my rolls. Small place but I will definitely be coming back for more. Tip: — To use credit cards there’s a $ 20 minimum.

Small hole in the wall place for some awesome yummy tofu and vegetarian food! I grew up next to this place and every time I come home to Cupertino I have to eat here at least once a week! It’s not really a dine-in restaurant, more of a take-out place. There’s all kinds of vegetarian foods and types of tofus, veggies, pastries, sticky rice rolls, buns, soymilk, etc. If you are a vegetarian you should def come check this place out!

I come here frequently to get my fresh soy milk. They have a variety of different types: sweetened, unsweetened, black. I remember earlier in the year, I asked the owner, the older gentleman, how often was the soy milk made. As he listened to my question, his eyes lit up! He excitedly told me that they made it fresh everyday. He then proceeded by offering me a tour of the kitchen. I was impressed. It’s pretty big back there. I wouldn’t have guessed by the store front. There were people in the back busily making food. It looked pretty clean back there and he showed me their soy milk making process. This is also a great hole in the wall gem for Taiwanese vegetarian food. I always leave with something else besides the soy milk. My advice to other Unilocalers, go support this local shop!

I am originally from Taiwan and have been in the USA for six years. I hadn’t been able to find a «true» Taiwanese vegetarian food place for that many years. Today I found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it try… The store is small but packed with all kinds of typical and classic Taiwanese vegetarian food. It’s a great place to explore if you are vegetarian, like vegetarian food or like Asian fusion. There are many kinds of frozen food to buy home for later, like dumplings, sweet rice balls, meat imitations, rice cakes and etc. They also sale soy milk, rice drink and black soy milk, which are nicely cooked and freshly made. If you spend more the $ 35, you can get one of them for FREE. Beside those, there are so many different things are waiting for you to explore. The bento box I ordered was great and came with a HUGE portion. It tasted just like the Taiwanese food I miss so much!!! It is not a fancy place, but it is clean and definitely produces Taiwanese vegetarian food awesomely. Stop by and try some of the food, and you will know why I love the place. Please prepare some cash if you don’t plan to spend more than $ 20. Credit card is accepted if you spend more than $ 20.
