California Steak Company is the name they are now using. Same guys, same truck and they were using the name Pacific Prime in the past.
Both Sonoma Cattle Exchange and the California Steak Company have the exact same brouchure.
All research points to these being the same company.

I didn’t offical buy meat from these guys so no comment on food. Just find the situation suspicious.

I live in San Jose and my neighbor was totally burned by a guy that represents Sonoma Cattle Exchange. In the beginning he bugged him to the point that he said I will buy it just to shut him up and get rid of him. Mind you he is an elderly man my neighbor. So he writes him a check for $ 500 and the deal is done. 2 weeks later my neighbor is eating cereal with his door open but the screen locked and who does he see at the door, the guy from Sonoma Cattle holding what was supposed to be the previous check for $ 500 and stating that my neighbor wrote the wrong month on the check so he could not cash it. My neighbor feeling apologetic unlocks the screen and invites him in. The guy sets the check on the table. Les writes him another new check for $ 500, apologizes and the guy rushes off. Then my neighbor noticed that the other so called check was no longer on the table. It had left as well. That made him suspicious so he went to the bank. The bank told him that the original check had been cashed 2 weeks prior to the guy returning and that he had already cashed the new check as well. So now he is out another $ 500. Upon looking at his checkbook he realizes that he did not mess up on the date the guy was lying through his teeth. He had went there with the intention of taking advantage of an elderly person. Now he comes to me for help and I try to contact Sonoma Cattle via website. It reads to leave a message under contact us. It lets you type in everything and then it does not accept your complaint. They do not give a fax number although they have fax as an option on their site. They do not answer their phones even if you act like you want to order beef using a different extension because even their urgent button does not work. So not only are they employing a crook, their customer service is the worst as well. I do not believe they have a customer service. The website is a joke. The run around recording on the phone that gets you no where is a joke. I wonder what would have happened if my neighbor would have called him on it at the time? It just happen to go right the crooks way. We made a police report.

It was very hard to find this company on Unilocal,as they are going door to door using a different name. The brochure touts them as Z-​Best Meats, but the address is the same as Sonoma Cattle Exchange.
So this guy comes into our store randomly and acts desperate to sell us «the other half» of his customers order because he only picked up half and he would cut us a great deal. I said no, but my husband starts talking to him. Next thing I know we are getting the full sales pitch. «only $ 8 per serving», «the KING of steaks», «All natural», etc. Well, the king of steak, the «filet» was really a tough sirloin shrink wrapped and frozen to look like a filet Mignon. We had to marinate it for 2 days to make it tolerable. The 2 pounds of jumbo shrimp were so heavily iced that when I defrosted them they lost a whole 8 ounces of weight, and yes I did weigh them before and after. To be fair I did the same to a bag of Costco shrimp and they only lost 2.5 ounces. Not to mention that $ 8 a serving is NOT a good price when you are dealing with a wide variety of meat, including hamburger!
The thing that really amazed me was that a month later the guy actually comes back! I’m thinking, can this guy really believe anyone would buy from him a second time? Amazing! This company is a con, pure and simple.
