Coming into Splash beware of the large group of staff they have out front of the door no telling who really works there, who’s a bouncer or who’s checking id’s with the casual or lack of uniform. After witnessing several occasions where bar patrons have been wrongly assaulted and accused by the poor judgment of the front house staff makes me weary if I shall ever return to this kind of establishment. I have seen these«bouncers» drag and push women out of the door because these women declined the suggestive comments made from these men and these are grown women dressed to the nine. I’ve seen unfair fights break out where the victim is punished, pepper-spray sprayed into the air. Also these«bouncers» like to instigate these intoxicated bar patrons, putting there hands on and shouting at these people in a range that would be way too close for comfort for myself. Also I found that the front house team is very unfriendly and rude. In 99% of the nightclubs out there, bouncers are simply normal employees, not actual«Security Personnel» who require special training and permits, and when asked to present such permits your request is denied and you’re left to whiteness this bouncer get very upset due to the fact that you questioned his authority. This means that the authority of a bouncer is the same as any ordinary citizen. Bouncers have no speciall right to physically eject a customer who becomes drunk or obnoxious, any more than a waiter at a café does. You might be surprised that, as far as the Law is concerned, a bouncer can only ask you to leave, and If you refuse, to then call the police and have you removed. But a bouncer has no more right to physically assault you than anyone else does.

This place is fun to go out on the weekends every now and again. They have great drink specials, and there are usually themed events on the weekends. It is arguably the best dance club in South Bay, but the crowd can be very hit or miss.

I came here with a few friends and wow, the drink specials are ridiculously good. 2 for 1 is the way to my heart. The dance floor is usually popping off and they are always playing some music videos of you aren’t in the mood to dance(although I don’t know why you would come here if you’re not coming to dance). Their upstairs area is spacious and the balcony is good if you don’t feel like going all the way downstairs to smoke. Cheers to this place and I’ll be back with a crew to shut that dance floor down.

Sunday Funday at splash! Bartenders here are very friendly. Sunday happy hour(4−8pm) includes $ 3 micro brews! What a great deal! Bogo on cocktails as well. They have really nice holiday decorations. Love the giant wreaths with the Xmas lights. There’s an upstairs balcony where u can smoke ;) I like how there’s room to roam around. So if your not feeling the downstairs dance floor you can always check out the upstairs scene.

Love coming here! One of the only places for the gays to come out and party if you don’t want to head out to the city. The ambiance is fantastic and love when they have club papi nights. Drinks are great here, you really get your money’s worth. Never had a bad experience.

Always happy with Splash. Great music, fun scene, and a cozy crowd on Mondays! As a straight girl, this is a slightly more mellow environment than straight bars tend to be, especially on Halloween! Cute security ;)

Love this spot on a weekend… Tried coming in on a weekday for the first time and clearly 1) dead 2) special drinks are weak. It sucks to see regulars come in and them get attended first after you had already placed your drink and see the bartender make their drink double and once yours came around was beyond weak. I know you get what you pay for but I’ve bartended before and that was straight up club soda. I don’t mind if everyone was being served that way but the regulars were not. I still tipped the girl cause I know what it is to be a bartender but it still sucked. I had to tell her to give me another shot in my drink and u would pay her another drink. Sorry splash but you lost points in my book.

I find it very insulting that they charge $ 10 for women on ladies night while the men are downstairs and don’t have to pay a cover charge.

Friday night no no. This place is a bit confused about what it’s tryna be on a Friday night. Random crowd. Couldn’t quite figure it out. Not many people there & the people there weren’t really dancing, so it was like an awkward middle school parlay. Some of the dance videos shown on the floor were intense, violent & kinna misogynistic. Drinks were good. Affordable & easy to get because there wasn’t a huge line. Def wouldn’t come back. Ciao Splash! Renee from the Bay

I kinda adore Splash. I’ve now been there a couple times on a couple Fridays and had a fantastic time both nights! I tend to get there early-ish and thus usually take advantage of the double drink happy hour special, which makes the dancing easier, because while Meg’s love to dance dancing in heels can be hell without a little help from my sex on the beach friends. The biggest positive for me with this space is the music choice. It’s a fantastic mix of recent hits, classic club hits and newer stuff I’m not as up on and I LOVE that they have two dance floors that are actually separate from the bar section. I haven’t been there during crush hours but I can imagine that less people get tripped on while trying to get drinks due to this layout. My awesome tipping point is the outside area, which is gorgeous and really nice to either cool down or admire the somewhat stars. It’s now kinda my place to go for dancing, and I love that it seems to be coverless before 9. Yay Splash, and yay Meg getting her groove on!

Splash used to be our go-to weekend spot! Last night, we payed our cover of $ 7 around 11 pm and received our stamp. We proceeded to have fun, buy a couple of drinks throughout the night. Once 1:30 am came around, we went upstairs to the patio to get some air and talk to people. That’s when a security guard cuts across the crowd and starts screaming at my friend and I, accusing us of sneaking in through the back door and threatening to call the cops and ban us from splash forever.(We later found out the security guy’s name is DANIEL). He said we snuck in with the guy who was next to us(we had just met him) but instead of targeting the guy he was blaming, he screams at us making a scene. We were so shocked! Appalled even and incredibly embarrassed. We proceeded to tell DANIEL that we had arrived around 11 pm, had been here for a while, and that we had our stamps. We showed him our stamps and he screamed at us, calling us liars. We thought he was on something, his eyes were crazy and his pupils seemed to be dilated. We looked at the guy next to him with the security jacket but he was ignoring us. We left and he forced us outside the back door. We thought we were done with DANIEL by that point but he proceeded to yell at us even more, threatening again to check the recording from the security cameras and to place a ban on my friend and I. We told him to go check the tape and that we’d be happy to check it with him so he would have proof that he had mistaken us for someone else. At this point he was getting aggressive and I was scared he was going to throw my friend against the trash cans! Talk about racial profiling in a joint that is supposed to be inclusive. We were so embarrassed and disheartened by our treatment at splash. At the end of the night, we spoke with the head of security Jay. He was very nice and recognized us! I would give Jay 5 stars. Splash used to be our go to spot! We spent at least $ 100 any time we’re here. Thanks to Daniels’ actions we will no longer go to Splash and neither will our friends. To be humiliated and experience racial profiling in this sort of establishment is disgusting.

As someone who has health issues that sometimes involve being able to use an elevator(I was involved in a terrible car crash), I am sad to find that you have to flag down staff in order to even use the elevator to go to the second level of the club. Really?(Edit: I’ve been told that 2 women basically unbalanced and ruined it, but still, it should get fixed already, I hope it has!) The fact that they also illegally allow smoking up there is ridiculous. This is California — going outside to smoke is second-nature to most people by now, even at clubs. What do they think, the smoke is going to magically not spread to the first level? That everyone who goes to the second level is a smoker? Second-hand smoke, whether people want to believe it is dangerous or not, is dangerous to me, since it causes me to have an asthma-like attack. No amount of fun is worth having to have yourself be resuscitated because you passed out due to the bar allowing illegal smoking on premises. Seriously? This is 2015, not 1990. The bartenders also have to be told exactly what you want, especially if you want a specific alcohol, watch them pour it to make sure you don’t get the cheap liquor instead. If they are going to charge you for Grey Goose, or a shot of Gentleman’s Jack, be damned sure it’s what you’re getting! They sure make sure to charge you the premium for it. Don’t feel like an ass for making sure you get what you want, it’s your hard-earned money. And here, their well drinks are pretty crappy, more so than other well drinks I’ve had. If you are already paying $ 5 for a rum and coke, make sure you ask for a name-brand rum… their well rum is totally not worth it vs. the premium prices… but I suppose if you don’t care about smoothness or taste, and just want to get trashed, the well liquor will do the job. I wish they would play some better music, or at least take requests more seriously. The place has such potential, but the few things that aren’t great are dragging the place down. I wish there were half stars on Unilocal, because I would give it a 2.5 or even a 2.9, because I don’t think it’s A-ok, but deserves more than a 2 star review.

The three stars is a stretch… but the facility itself is really clean and modern and interesting so that is it’s saving grace. As for the bar tenders, a few of them need to take a refresher. On multiple occasions I have ordered Whiskey-Cokes and gotten rum instead. also, i had to explain to one of them what a 7 n 7 was. Like… really? Also, some of there well drinks(i know, don’t expect quality in wells) are just so bad, i cant even describe wtf i just put in my mouth. I will order 3 of the same drinks and get 3 different forms of whatever poured in my glass. pretty much 0 consistency. The music is touch and go as well. I understand that music is a matter of personal taste, but… some middle ground between dubstep and latin would be great. Can a boy get some hip hop? a throw back even? With the sketchy cocktails, the cover, and the music selection, I cant say i would willingly return. You can find me next door at Mac’s.

Me and my girlfriends had the best time here Friday night! We were at a birthday at Temple bar and the hip hop vibe just wasnt for us so we went down the street to Splash and had so much fun. Everyone was so nice and friendly — drinks were priced decently and great dance music was playing. Love the upstairs outdoor patio — and love the cute boy selling jello shots! We want to come back asap!

My wife, friends and I went pass this bar/club and like the music. So we decided to go in to check it out. We didn’t know it was a gay bar/club until we dance for a bit. The DJ was killing it with the music. He put on music we know like hip hop. They even have TVs with music videos. I might go back here with my wife and some friends.

Sad excuse for a gay bar! Well, it would be fun if there were(1) more people there and(2) more gay men there. It felt like a small city version of a gay bar. which I suppose it kind of is. There was good music and of course the videos and sweaty dancers. The atmosphere just wasn’t right bc it was so empty. PS damn those vodka sodas were STRONG.

I swear I’m a gay man trapped in the body of a female. I love show tunes, Cher, and Ru Paul’s Drag Race. So when my husband mentioned that Bianca Del Rio was in town — I quickly changed my quiet Saturday evening BBQ into a night out to see Bianca at Splash. I dragged my reluctant friend so I could show him the queen that I was absolutely in love with! We arrive late in the evening since I knew the show started at 11:30. There is a long line, it moved fast, and the other patrons were nice and chatty. We are the last two to get VIP entry to actually MEET the queen herself! At this point I’m dying to meet Bianca so she can throw some insults at me.(She’s famous for her wit, she’s like Don Rickles in drag!) The venue is packed, but we navigate around to get a feel of the place. We both mention that the place is unbearably hot, so we head outside on the patio. The patio is so packed with people, it’s almost as hot outside too! No wonder they have the Jell-O shot boys serve drinks without a shirt, it’s too darn hot to wear one! We head back inside and make our way downstairs to the main stage. At this point I see a bouncer at the thermostat and I read that the inside temperature is 89° — you. are. joking! The first performer comes out and even barks about how hot it is in the bar. The so called«stage» is only a foot above the audience, so I basically see her head over the sea of people. My friend can barely handle the heat and excuses himself to go outside to get some fresh air. I look around and notice they are still letting people in, even though the place is completely packed. Feeling like I’m going to pass out, I head back to the upstairs patio to get some air. I find my friend and we debate if it’s even worth staying — and we sadly made our way through the hoards of people to go. So not only did I not meet Bianca, I didn’t even see her perform. The facility was completely oversold and in my opinion, a fire hazard. We had to push our way out to the front door, and the only way we found our way out was because we followed a few boys that were aggressive in their shoving people out of the way. Sorry that I missed seeing Bianca Del Rio, and sad that it’s the only gay bar in town, I feel it’s poorly managed by overselling the event. The least you could do is turn on the darn air conditioning!!!
