In the initial consultation, I was given a very warm, positive, confident treatment. I was very clear about my needs (different from many;) Mr. Chiara, general manager, said he could help and even improve my situation. He also said that there was even a possible job opening with his company for me. This clever maneuver certainly had the effect of a role reversal and kept me from questioning or complaining for quite some time.
The warm, congenial, positive treatment changed after they received my (non-​refundable per the contract) payment. An overcharge to my credit card took about a week to correct, and had the additional effect of causing a diversion during the 3-​day cancellation period. I was abruptly handed off to a subordinate (not discussed during the consultation). I delivered my resume, hard copy and email, multiple times, and multiple times, they denied that I’d sent it, or could not find it. Finally, I had come prepared. Taking the flash drive from my purse, I copied the resume to their computer. The «coaching» was nothing but worksheets which I would complete, but on which I received no useful feedback. Requests for dialog were rarely acknowledged, and the dialog that did occur was minimal. Our meetings were continually interrupted by others in the office or the phone. Through the three month process they they gradually stopped responding to my emails. Eventually they stopped responding to me altogether.
The grand result of his services, and my $ 3000, was a hand-​written list, on a torn sheet of paper, of three or four temp agencies I should check with. Resume was not completed, no interview coaching, and no working through the tough spots.
