Sunco Transmission

This guy bob is so nice and happy to take your money but when something goes wrong when under warranty he is all of the sudden booked for the next month, then when you call back in a month he’s still busy? My transmission went out after paying 2k on a transmission finally he took it back in to fix right before the warranty expires and it’s like he didn’t even do anything it still has the same issue! Do not trust this guy he does not stand by his word!

Do not bring your vehicle here! Bob does not stand by his work. My mom had a transmission built here and 10 months latter it’s no good and she doesn’t drive hard or a lot. Took it back, one month latter, and nothing was done but he’ll say we did what we could you’ll need a new ecu. Well we bought a new ecu, and guess what still no good and trams soon components slipping codes still on the new ecu! So now I go back and I’m past one year warranty! You think he would take it in? Nope Bob says they’ve done all they could and he doesn’t know why the converter is bad or why the tranny is no good. «I’m busy call me next week». Always same thing! I call and go in and now he is still «busy and going on vacation next week. I don’t no?» He has done absolutely nothing to stand behind his half a worth work! My mom now needs tags and can’t pass smog do to the transmission slipping codes still keeping the engine light on! Bob hung up on my mom saying «you’ll waste your time taking me to court». Now we have to go to another shop quoting us for 2200 for a rebuilt transmission! I really hope who ever reads this thinks twice before thinking Bobs sunco is the right choice. Learn from us, this shop will still your money and leave you in need of mechanic work still. They should not be in business clearly.

The transmission on my 87 yr old mother’s 1998 Cougar went out. We priced new transmissions and rebuilt transmissions. They were really expensive. We couldn’t even buy one for the price of a transmission. None to be had in California. We searched around for a Transmission company and were referred to Sunco. We called Bob and he quoted a price that was ½ of what the other companies were quoting. Long story short, we got a rebuilt transmission and the car runs as good as when it was new. We have a 1 yr warranty and are confident in the work that was performed. We are extremely happy with the service and the work!

Great customer service! They helped me and was very knowledgeable and very empathetic to my nightmare I’ve been going through with my vehicle. He was able to confirm a few things and rule out a few problems another shop claimed I had.

I took my Volvo into Sunco for a difficult to diagnose issue. They were highly recommended by a Volvo/​Saab repair shop in Santa Clara. Bob knew right away what the issue was. I had my car back right away and the transmission works great! This was after my trusted mechanic had tried several times to figure out what it was. I highly recommend Sunco!

Took my 1998 Lexus in to Sunco after I was referred by Los Gatos Goodyear. Bob drove the car and confirmed, as had the Lexus mechanic, that it needed the Solenoid replaced. Because of the age of the car Bob recommended I get the part at Lexus directly as it may be hard to find. No problem.
The difference? Lexus wanted $ 850 labor to do the repair. How much did Sunco charge me? $ 125. Not only that, the car was done in a reasonable amount of time. These guys have been in this business a long time and they know what they’re doing. Highly recommend.

Sunco worked on my transmission a couple of years ago. Last week, I began to have problems again. They stood behind their work and repaired the problem at no charge. What more could I ask for?

The transmission died on my 89 Corvette, that I’ve owned since new. I asked my local garage for a recommendation and he said call Bob at Sunco, been using him for 20 years and never a problem. I took my car in, he rebuilt my transmission and delivered it to our home, 20 miles away as I was out of town, at no cost to me. Been driving it for a week, need to adjust the lock-​up point but that is a minor fix that he’ll do I’m sure. Very nice guy, he’s been fixing transmissions for 40+ years, knows his stuff.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO SUNCO!!!
My father had a transmission put in 1 YEAR AGO and reported issues with it several times. The mechanic continued to say nothing is wrong. Two weeks ago on a trip, the transmission goes out. What is SUNCO’s response. Give me your keys and I will drive it myself and see what’s wrong. The mechanic returns and says, «Nothing is wrong with this transmission! I never want to hear from you again.» HE SAID THIS TO A CUSTOMER!!!
What the idiot did not know is we had the transmission checked and there are 5 error codes all pointing at the transmission.
LEARN FORM US, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO SUNCO!!!
(SUNCO…you will be hearing from consumer affairs (at a minimum)…you FRAUDS!)

I been dealing with sunco for a very long time and I mean a long time. price is always right the owner is very honest, I always get my customers transmissions rebuilt by sunco good work and fast, we had a small problem with a transmission once they took care of it at no cost to my customer, I recommend this shop you will be happy

After my mechanic had trouble stanching a bad transmission leak in my Subaru Forester, he sent me to Sunco. They diagnosed and repaired the problem in short order, without trying to ding me for extensive unneeded repairs. Absolutely top notch, and they explained everything in clear fashion.

I had Sunco rebuild my transmission for my ’94 Subaru Impreza. Very reasonable price. I developed a leak in the seal and the warranty covered the repair. The repair was performed promptly. Thanks!
