Call me crazy but this airport just feels lazy. You’re San Jose — the SJC — the home of so much — and your airport is zzz I get it — it’s just an airport… but no, it can’t be just an airport in SANJOSE, SJC, home of the silicon valley. I guess I expected everything to be touch screen, all floors to be walkways, apps to reserve waiting room seats and drinks before you get on the flight. Dumb, I know. Ok, I just expected at least some cool history stuff on the walls or something! A pretty picture. Can you do that? Put up some pretty pictures… that are really secretly touch screen televisions… that then have internet so you can use the apps, which read your mind and typing speed so they can determine how fast you walk and thus how fast it’ll take you to reach the gate, and waze for terminals. Jk.

This was not what I had expected for CA. At the end of the day it’s an airport but nevertheless we have come to expect certain things and this place is very lacking.

Nice and easy airport and love that you can walk across the street from baggage claim for the rental car area.

Do not go to Sonoma Chicken near gate 12! They service is rude, unapologetic staff when they were out of items, brushed off patrons when it was taking more than normal time frames to get food. There was zero urgency by the staff. When I asked for a refund because my flight was boarding and my good still wasn’t prepared they all stared at one another like buffoons. Seriously, close this place down and put in a viable business travelers will actually be able to eat at.

Terminal A was not crowded at all when we were here on a Friday afternoon. We decided to fly out from SJC instead of SFO for this exact reason. Last time we flew out of SFO, we almost missed our flight since we spent about an hour in security lines. There were many in-person check-in registers open as well as many self check-in kiosks open. The security check point here was very efficient. We got through very quickly since they had several security lanes opened. Cleans and efficient, exactly what I want when I travel. Love their free wi-fi! And chairs with outlets in the arm rests!
