On January 232016 we held my wife’s 50th birthday party at this restaurant. I was very unhappy with the service(or lack thereof) we received from the restaurant during the party. The party was over 100 people and the restaurant only had two people working our party most of the time(perhaps three at a couple of times, to be fair), and I could not communicate effectively with them(as they weren’t fully fluent English speakers). Denise was the rep from the restaurant we had worked with on planning and she said she would be there the night of the restaurant, but that night she was busy working the other guests of the restaurant and wasn’t easily accessible. I had to go run around, leaving my party to look for her, to get any help. I felt they made 0 effort to communicate with me about logistics and I had to go find Denise or ask them questions(through the language barrier) to(try to) make anything happen. For example, we did not want the champagne and we were told we could get punch and lemonade and guests could go get soda. So while people were getting dinner I noticed the lemonade and punch were out but nothing about soda; why wouldn’t they tell me how my guests can have soda? So I asked one of the people about soda, she didn’t seem to have an answer, said I should ask Denise. I looked around, couldn’t find her, eventually got sidetracked doing other things(after all I am the host of this party), and my guests never got the soda I paid for. Another example, this restaurant is hosting a birthday party, they tell me they provide cake services. So we need a lighter to light the candles of the cake, we don’t have one. I ask one of the people working the party, he doesn’t know, so I go to the bar, tell them I’m hosting a party at their restaurant, can I use a lighter.(Note I’ve had to go leave my own party I’m hosting and go wait in line at their bar to ask for a lighter.) So the bartender gives me a lighter, tells me it’s the restaurant’s only one, and tells me to bring it back when I’m done. Another example was the hor dourves. We ordered way more than were actually eaten. After they cleared them out to make room for the dinner line, I assumed we would get all the leftovers to distribute to guests to take home or otherwise do with as we wish. But I never saw any of the leftovers. I guess either they are thrown away or eaten by other people. Why don’t I get the leftovers I paid for? And another example is about moving the tables. Some of the guests’ tables were on the dance floor and we had to move everything out of the way after dinner to make room for dancing. I was not sure if I should just ask guests to start moving their own tables or if the restaurant staff needed to do this or what. I couldn’t even get the staff working our party to understand my question. So I ended up just asking guests to help us move tables. We were trying to move some of them from the dance floor to the carpeted area. Then at some point Denise tells me don’t move them too much, and don’t move them into the carpet area. So I work with my guests to get the tables ok. This all worked out, but the restaurant staff wasn’t very helpful. Note I was too busy hosting the party and trying to get help from the restaurant to really try the food. For the price I paid, I expect the restaurant to provide a lot more support the night of the party than they did. I would never host another party there again. And I want my money back for the soda we never got.

Hmmm, this place is odd to rate. The first time I was here, I had a great meal. We ordered the filet mignon and the prime rib. It was a ton of food for the money and it was cooked very well. That being said, service was just so so. They also had a major shortage in wine. Everything I selected was out of stock. The next time we tried this place, I was in the mood for something other than steak. So I ordered the scallops and my girl friend ordered the prime rib and lobster. After a bit, our waitress came back to tell me the chef didn’t think the scallops were worth serving, too small I believe was the reason. Darn, I was really looking forward to scallops. Whatever, I ended up choosing the shrimp scampi. When our meals arrived, I was a little taken aback by my meal. The shrimp were served in a dish filled with a butter sauce. It looked more like a soup. Oh well. When I tried it, the shrimp did not taste that good and the butter sauce had like a burnt taste to it. Really odd. I ate a few, but could not being myself to eat anymore. It was pretty bad. I also tried my gf’s food. Her lobster was even worse than my shrimp. It had a very fishy taste, so I’m guessing it wasn’t very fresh. Which was probably the case with my shrimp. It also made me think the scallops were probably freezer burned, hence the reason they didn’t serve them. Thankfully her prime rib was big enough to feed 4, so she cut me off a piece so I got to eat something. Last thing. Because of the lack of wine choices last time, I decided to bring my own bottle. I brought with me a very nice12 yr old bottle of wine. Which had been stored properly. Side note, I’m a huge wine buff and know my wine. Anyway, when our waitress tried opening the bottle, she broke the cork. She then took it back to the bar tender to open. She then comes back to tell me they ended up pushing the cork down and were unable to get it out. Ok, stuff happens, I guess. I ask them to just decant it then. She comes back with my wine sitting in a carafe. Ugh. If that weren’t bad enough, I’m pretty sure, it was at least a glass short. I go thru about 3 bottles off wine a week, I know how much is in a bottle. Btw, before you think my bottle wasn’t stored properly, I have a half case of that exact same wine, and have never had a problem opening them. To their credit, they did comp our dessert after we complained about the shrimp and lobster. Even so, I don’t think I’ll be returning. Too bad, as the steak was pretty good.

Best prime rib! Drinks are strong and prices are fair. If you like to dance this is the only spot on the east side.

worst restaurant ever. The hostess was unbelievable. Ordered the petite filet mignon and the stuffed shrimp. The hostess came by and asked how everything was, I told her the stuffed shrimp tasted funny if I could exchange it with the fried shrimp. She literally reached across the table grabbed the shrimp off my plate. We were in shock is this lady for real. That must be the reason why the restaurant was empty. The food was excellent but the service was horrible =(

Have had several Christmas day brunches here over the years, all previous experiences were quite good. Not so today(12-25-2015), Seafood(shrimp, king crab legs) were way over cooked and tough. The roast beef was also overcooked and very chewy. Drinks were good and regularly refilled. The wait staff was exceptional! The hostess was nice when we got there, but then my guests said she seemed to become surly(I also felt this way) she was clearly having a bad day. Finally, the breakfast food was for me the best part of the meal. The eggs were tasty but not warm enough, the bacon was Great, the potatoes were also excellent. We will not be returning for Christmas buffet. Also, this year there were about 1⁄3 the customers as there were the last time we had Christmas buffet there. Guess the words out.

So we were invited to a birthday party gathering here per a friends recommendation. After reading the flood of horrid reviews, I will admit I was hesitant to eat their food. I walked in with all shields up basically! The first thing I noticed was the lady everyone has been raging on was working tirelessly running back and forth helping everyone as quickly as possible. She was blank and expressionless BUT I did not get any negativity from her at all. All our needs were met, she was attentive and considering she was it, I thought she was managing surprisingly well. There was one other man popping out to serve and clear plates, he was pleasant. So I’m thinking all the anger fueled was from pure lack of patience. If you’re in a hurry, go elsewhere. Now about the food… My man ordered the prime rib and he seemed ok eating his food. No issues from his end. My son ordered the chicken teriyaki, he ate a couple bites and rejected it entirely. I tried a bite, and it was ok. It was a full chicken breast on the plate with sauce on top, not cut up. So I guess my best description of it was dry and to thick to enjoy. I ordered the salmon and it was pretty bad. The top of my filet was hard, I had to break it apart to find the soft parts inside that was edible. The veggies were steamed and tasteless. And we all ordered fries but were served rice. That wasn’t a huge issue, but I wasn’t into the rice either. Prior to dinner we had the mushroom appetizer and those things were swimming in butter. They tasted ok, nothing special. I had a cup of clam chowder per someone else’s review, but it was bone cold and beyond unappetizing. Our bill was $ 113.00, so yes, it’s VERY overpriced for the quality served. If you sit in the bar they require you to spend $ 4.00 minimum, so when I asked for ice water I was told to get something else since I’m paying regardless. That was interesting… Others mentioned a cup of ice with a hint of soda, yup that’s correct. But not a huge deal… still a rip off, either pay or go elsewhere. Two of my friends knew the DJ, so that’s how we all ended up here. He was very nice, great music! He made it enjoyable until we departed. Would we go back? Only if another group wanted to hang out, so we would be sipping $ 4.00 glasses of water. Would we eat their food again? NOPE. Was the waitress as horrible as other say? NOPE. But I can see her refusing to deal with idiots and just walking away. So if you go, just be nice and don’t be in a rush.

I called ahead and reserved for 15. Forced to go there because one person(grandpa/dad) wanted to go there. We’ll, the problem was we walked in and were directed to a back table away from everyone with cheap tablecloth and plastic fold out chairs. The food was buffet style with processed sliced meat. Instant potatoes, some turkey, gravy and the other fixings. All of it was cold.

Everyday it gets worse and worse! It’s owned by a family who feel Ike they are doing you a favor helping you! They are rude & have 0 customer service! The only exception is the chef, he has the best customer service & personality! This is the 2nd time I’ve tried to order food to go(2⁄2 negative experience) for them to hang up on me and tell me they have a banquet and call back in 20. What does that mean for other customers? I actually went in after being hung up on, 18 min later & still had me sit and NEVER took my order! Waited on drinks in the bar, guess no one else was important! Side note: one other time I was in there and I heard the woman(the one who co-owns the place), that she just sold a $ 5 bottle of wine for $ 28! You just don’t do that kind of thing in from of other people! They poured a crown & coke and used 2 Liter bottle of coke! This place just really isn’t nice at all! I’m not giving them any more $$

Poorest excuse for a restaurant in all of the South Bay. Service ISHORRIBLE(owners are super mean!) and the food? I know ppl either come here to say how much they love it, or how much they hate it… go inside, get approached by the owners/staff, and sit and order food. See for yourself. I hope the place catches on fire that’s how bad I hate this place. The husband AND the wife need an attitude adjustment. You’re food sucks too if you’re reading this. You know it’s overpriced crap. You know it. I want all bad business ppl to die a horrible death in the industry. It’s what they deserve.

Went for Sunday brunch. The food was not very good. They had French toast but the pan was empty. You had to wait for a waffle and it was overdone. The sea food was frozen although they say it’s fresh. The ham that was being carved was a ham roll. No carved beef. Not a good selection of dishes. Desserts were store bought. The even had the pastry in their original wrappers. They made you use a paper plate for dessert. Will not go back again.

Good food. Great greeting from hostess. Food drenched with blue cheese. Very reasonable prices. Old school décor. What’s not to love?

This is one of those restaraunts that needs to be fixed by Chef Gordon Ramsay. Overpriced mediocre food,(My brother had asked for a rare steak, he got straight up medium-well). The steak was boring, not really good for the price– I would honestly enjoy myself more at HQ. My friends lemon drop was a watered down drink with cheap vodka. And lastly, the customer service was absolutely putrid. I don’t know how that older blonde lady gets away with treating customers the way she does. She was sassy, rude, and curt. My friend mentioned that she was always like that and once slammed everyone’s dishes down in a haste because she prefers to work at the bar. Not our fault, lady. We will never be returning to this sad excuse for a restaraunt ever again.

I came here for an event and my first impression was not too pleasant. The multi-purpose room(i suppose?) felt damp, there were enough space for a lot of people which is good. Food was not decent. Appetizer and entrée came at the same time. I would not come back here unless there is another event that I really have to go to… There is a lot of work to be done!

For event space The food was so average our college cafeteria food is better. Like I don’t know how to pin point it but the food was neither appetizing despite being hungry. We were not fed until an hour after we were supposed to be. When it did come out you could just tell the food was not cooked well or fresh. The carrots looked dried out and the meat looked old that I stayed away from eating cuz it looked like I could get food poisoning. The space is pretty small. They didn’t have the projector or stereo ready when they told us they would handle it. Overall just not good.

The Shed is a unique place that is not for everyone. The owners are not afraid to say that they haven’t change or remodeled the place in years, so don’t go in expecting a modern dining experience. They serve the same stuff they been doing for years because they do it well and that’s what they value. I had the cheeseburger with coleslaw and it was a thick juicy pattie, lots of toppings and good slaw. Very satisfying. Can’t say all their dishes are great, but the burger was very good. Little on the pricey side, but worth it.

We recently went to The Drying Shed for Mother’s Day brunch. Let me just say I was not happy with my experience. I was not happy about the buffet which didn’t even really seem like fresh food. We had to ask several times for coffee or to have more of something they ran out of on the buffet. It wasn’t until right before we left did we get what we asked for. The lady giving everyone their bills made sure she checked over and over again how many people were sitting with us and how much to charge us, but couldn’t get us coffee. On top of the food tasting gross, leaving hungry, and getting no service. we had to leave 20% TIP that was added into our bill. What a RIPOFF! I was beyond irritated to say the least. We won’t be back again.

There was a group of 10 of us that went to the bar on a Saturday night. There were only 2 other people in the place. All 10 of us were drinking and dancing. We requested a song from DJ Looney Tunes( ) who i guess is a DJ at the Groove 99.3. He played the song and then when we requested a 2nd song about an hour later he said NO! He only takes 1 request a night. WTF? A DJ that doesn’t take requests??? So we spoke to the owner & his wife, she apologized and said it was in his contract. They did nothing to rectify this. If you want to have a good time… DON“T GOHERE!!! DJ Looney Tunes HA ya right!

Thank you Unilocal! We were looking for a new place to have Easter Brunch and were very happy with the choice. The food variety was huge and we especially enjoyed the shrimp and crab legs which were closely rivaled by the roast beef and other side dishes. Everyone in our party was pleased. I highly recommend reservations as we has a short wait due to the crowds all showing up for a fine family easter meal. The place was packed but the servers were still very attentive and refilled our drinks on a regular basis. Sharon was great as she showed up just at the right time to provide coffee with the plethora of desserts. I almost wish there were not so good as we ate to many. I and my family of six would highly recommend Ed Ramsay at the Drying Shed for your families brunch event. I also noticed they have two party room for weddings and other social gatherings.
