The Lunchies

I caught wind of this awesome delivery luncheon. I’m always too busy at work to go get some lunch, and all the places around me have gotten old.
So I was already sold on «delivery» and «highly rated».
We’re suppose to put in our order before 11:30. I got caught up with work and didn’t call till 11:20. I was nicely told what was on the menu, wasn’t rushed, and the person was very polite.
I actually didn’t get my meal until about 1pm because the guy’s truck broke down. He called me to let me know that he was having trouble, and that he’d be late. I was going to comp part of my meal for me. When he finally came, he apologized for the bad first impression and only charged me $ 5 instead of $ 13 (i got 2 items)
What i ordered:
Vanilla Yogurt $ 5 — About 1pint of DELICIOUS yogurt that wasn’t too sweet and granola was something amazing…
Lemon Capers Chicken w/​Linguini $ 8 — Portion seems small, but as a Personal trainer, this is all you really need. The capers were salty, and the chicken linguini and sauce perfectly balances it.

So after James D. & Julia M. told me about Lunchies & how good it was I was curious to try it. Originally I was gonna try some of James’ food when they delivered because I thought it was too late to get food. Luckily they bring extra food with them on their deliveries. I ordered the BBQ Chicken w/​mash potatoes and corn. Went on a 10 to try out this food & it was so good. Finally a good meal during a break. $ 8 for a meal better than you can get anywhere in the mall. The chicken was full of flavor & everything was perfectly portioned out. I’m not the only one that thought the food was good either because when I came back to the back for lunch someone else had taken a few bites out of my meal. Haha.

UPDATE!
Today I ordered the BBQ Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Corn. When I got my food I immediately headed to the break room to eat. I opened my tray of hot food, looked down and wondered, «hmm, for $ 8 it seems a little small in comparison to the $ 6 I payed for a huge pesto chicken wrap last time». I then proceeded to eat and after the first bite, I couldn’t put down my fork until I was completely done with everything, it was so freaking delicious!
Just to paint a picture in your head (because I killed my food before I figured to take a snapshot of it), the tray contained a small container of pulled barbecued chicken off the bone in the natural au jus, small dish of barbecue sauce, a scoop of home made mashed potatoes, and grilled corn off the cob.
The food was amazing, full of flavor and even though at first thinking the portion was tiny, it was actually perfect, as my stomach was definitely satisfied. The chicken was so tender and juicy! I’m going to try and make this my friday meal at work everytime I’m there!
Lunchies is so much better than Valleyfair Mall food!!!

Call in the order by 11:30am Saturday
Get delicious food delivered straight to your work!
Their menu looks amazing and I will definitely be trying out new things this weekend. They have dishes like salami mozzarella sandwiches with pesto mayo, homemade hummus and veggies, veggie skewers with cilantro rice and bacon mushroom calzone (which is what I ordered) all under $ 10! The dough and crust of the calzone was amazing, like your favorite pizza crust with but with better seasoning. Also, the bacon and mushroom totally hit the spot (but then again, when doesn’t bacon hit the spot)? A couple of my coworkers ordered the sandwich and loved it as well. Definitely a better option, fresher taste than food court fare.
This is all homemade food, made same-​day with delivery, all for under $ 10, I can’t see a reason not to get The Lunchies! I will definitely be making this a Saturday tradition at my work.

when i first heard about the lunchies, i was pretty excited. at work, its really hard for us to leave because it gets super busy. so when i was told to call the lunchies because they deliver. i was super stoked!
the couple who owns this genius business wake up early in the morning and make there lunches fresh!!! these lunches arent your typical. they are good portioned gourmet meals!!! they usual price their lunches around 7 $ depending on what you order. if your lucky, they just might make your location the first spot to deliver. that way you get first choice on what you want, otherwise, you get whats left over. all you have to do is call them and ask if they are able to stop by your location. they always say yes!
personally, my fave is the chicken w/​pesto mashed potatoes. omg, i never even knew that you can make pesto mashed potatoes, but im sure glad they did!!! other favorites are the hummus wrap, the adobo, and spaghetti w/​meatballs!!! you really get your moneys worth! truest me… oh yeah, if they have bread pudding on the menu. you must order it because its yummmmmmy!!!
the people who work for the lunchies and own the lunchies are super nice! so thats 5 stars!!!
