I came here for the first time, ordered a #1 combination, came home and had a grilled pork. I know there’s a sign that says to check our sandwich before we leave to make sure it’s correct but seriously? The person taking the order and the person making the sandwich should be able to follow directions the first time around where we’re not required to have to do a sandwich-check lol. Plus, I was holding my 9 month old daughter and didn’t think they could make a completely different sandwich. I was the only customer in the store, and even my receipt says the combination sandwich. Wtheck? Lol not coming back.

Got a banh mi thit nguoi to share with a friend, the cashier was a bit… ughh… but the banh mi taste less sweet than the first times I went here. So it’s a lot better than before.

I really don’t understand the negative reviews. Their Banh mi Thit nuong is among the best I’ve ever tasted. And. that’s a lot… coming from a girl whose family owns a Vietnamese sandwich shop in Orange County, that is popular. I felt compelled to write a review to make sure this business stays viable.

I dont think they made fresh sandwiches here. If you want to get a plain baguette, this is not a place you want to go. They only had short/small baguettes which were not fresh as other places had.

Sandwiches here are pretty good portion! Prices are 50 cents more compare to other. The place is very modern and clean. Love their picture menu.

For an expensive Banh mi I would’ve thought it would be bomb af. Nope. I’ve had much better Banh mi for much cheaper. I ordered their popular Banh mi thit nuong. The bread is soft but the meat was the huge disappointment. It was much too sweet for me and where the hell is the special sauce they spread on the bread?(Viet mayo/butter). The ratio of pickled veggies and meat was totally off. I didn’t ask for vegetarian Banh mi. Overall, it sucked. My younger brother had the combo. It was total garbage. The meat lacked in flavor, just tasted like mush. The only thing that tasted decent were the veggies. The jalapeño didn’t even a kick to it. I’m sorry fellow Unilocalers, but this was not my cup of tea. Seems to me, I’m not the only one complaining about the service. I believe she was the owner. She took our order and I must say she was completely rude. We were the only ones there but she kept rushing us while rolling her eyes. It’s a pretty decent sized placed yet the space isn’t being utilized at all. No where to sit. They have some wrapped up furniture. I don’t think they should’ve opened until they completely finish setting up tables and chairs for their customers. I mean c’mon where are the old men going to sit so they can enjoy their café sua da? Meh, there are much CHEAPER and TASTIER alternatives out there.

It was my first time here today after passing by it about a million times! The location to start off is great and easy to find along the main street right before you hop on the freeway. Thien Huong as some may know specializes mainly in Vietnamese sandwiches. The staff was very kind and welcoming and the service was quick. Soon as I placed my ord r and checked in on Unilocal and browsed through some tips, the owner had my order ready to go. I might have just found my favorite go to place for a quick lunch. Definitely recommend those who have sudden cravings for a Vietnamese sandwich and was in a rush like me haha. #teambanhmi

I have been meaning to try this place since they finally opened up a new business in this location. I loved the old restaurant they had here, too bad they closed it and had to open a more limited food to go kinda place here. The modern interior décor makes up a very nice place although there is absolutely no seating inside to eat and apparently the sandwiches pretty much cost $ 4.50 here which is on the higher side. Although I should note that the sandwiches are packed with more meat than most other places. It could use a tad more flavor with the mayo or pâté if you order the sandwich which has that. I liked it, although I suppose you can get a better deal somewhere else.

I didnt get to try the sandwiches because they said they were closed when i got there at 730 pm but on Unilocal it clearly says that they close at 8 pm. Wow, must be nice to close when ever they want.

I’ve only tried #1 — grilled pork banh mi, but it’s so yummy I don’t feel the need to try anything else on their menu. The bread is always super soft and they give you a ton of pickled veggies, jalapenos, cilantro, and even cucumbers. Prices are fair, under $ 5 for a sandwich. There is also plenty of parking available. My only complaints are the super long wait time & the lack of seating inside. I waited close to 20 minutes this past weekend, and because there is no seating or tables, everyone was just standing there awkwardly waiting for their food. Also, their couches have been wrapped in plastic ever since they opened… are you guys planning on returning these or what because it’d be nice to have somewhere to sit and eat.

I really wanted to like this place because I enjoy their rice plates at their sister locations but the sandwiches here are just plain sad! I ordered the tit nuong grilled pork sandwich and it was lacking in flavor! I don’t think they prepare any of their ingredients here on site and ship it to the store for assembly. There are better, CHEAPER Vietnamese sandwich alternatives out there. Bring back Beef Noodle #1! They used to bless this place with yummy goodness. Now this place has taken over and is a disgrace to the holy Vietnamese sandwich.

Their com tam is the best but their sandwiches, sadly are not. I ordered the chicken roti sandwich and it was super soggy like someone had cried into it, as If my sandwich wasn’t sad enough, there was barely any meat. The veggies were super boring too. I mean veggies in general are boring, but it didn’t taste as pickled as other places. Maybe I’m just a sucker for huong lan. But don’t let my review sway you, you can be the judge of it. But I did like the lady who took my order, she does seem to care about her customers because a customer took the wrong sandwich and felt so bad that she wanted to go find him. Probably will Come back someday and update but not anytime soon.

This is one of the best Vietnamese Sandwich chains in town. Their special is the«Banh Mi Thit Nuong,» which is the grilled pork sandwich. The meat is marinated very well and tastes great! If you’ve tried the sandwiches at Huong Lan on Tully Rd, it is very comparable, but each has it’s own special twist to it. It can really depend on the person to pick which one is better, but both are really great. Now, when comparing it to Thanh Huong on Senter Rd, this place definitely beats it. The first time I came in here, they had just opened and the service was very slow. Hence, minus one star. There was a gentlemen also in line at that time and he was concerned because he was there before some other people and had ordered and received a number, but was wondering why the sandwiches of those who came after him were completed before him. He raised a stink and got his money back, but it’s true. If you’re going to be passing out numbers, the whole point is so that people can get their food in orderly fashion, not letting someone behind you get their order first while you’re still waiting. By the way, the man had ordered only one sandwich so the volume definitely was not the problem. I’m still waiting for the boba drinks side to open up. They currently don’t have tables and chairs set up yet, but it’s been a while too. It doesn’t seem that difficult, they might just be a little lazy. Definitely coming here for the Banh Mi Thit Nuong though! Beware, lines can get really long and it’ll be a long wait even after calling it in ahead of time.

Cashier was a bit rude. I could tell she was trying really hard not to roll her eyes. Parking sucks. No seating inside either. I got the combination. It was pretty good, but they put peppercorns in everything. Not a fan. Their bread was really good though.

I like how this place is really close to my work so I can just drop by and pick up a sandwich for a quick lunch. I usually get their combo or chicken banh mi and they usually make it pretty fast. This is a pretty new location and is still pretty empty, so I’m hoping they add some more décor and other snacks to their menu as well.

I love com tam thien huong so I really wanted to love their banh mi as well. The parking lot is small but fine for now because it doesn’t seem like they’re attracting many patrons… There’s no place for you to sit & eat so people are in & out quickly. The cashier was snobby and rude. She asked if I wanted my veggies in the sandwich or on the side. I turned to ask my bf & she interrupted«are you going to eat it now or what?» I looked around and said well, I can’t eat it now with no place to sit. We opted for veggies in cause we were gonna eat it fairly quick. She then asked me for here or to go when I paid… What? There’s no seating!!! She said yeah, there’s no place to sit so it’s to go only. Omg. Why would you ask me here or to go then?! I ordered 2 grilled pork sandwiches(#1) and they were $ 4.50 each. That’s expensive compared to other sandwich shops but I still wanted to give it a try. Upon opening up the sandwich, I noticed it was 60% veggies 40% meat. Their pickled veggies aren’t as pickled as Huong Lan. They also add cucumber which is unusual. The meat is good though, I only had to take one piece of fat out of the whole sandwich. The grilled pork is consistent with the kind they use in their rice plates. I wish that they toasted their bread(baguette style) crunchier because it was on the soggy side. Glad I tried it but don’t think I’ll be a regular here.

Fairly nice generous sized sandwich with better service in the morning than the evening this time around. The quality of the ingredients were good, especially the super spicy fresh jalapenos– yum! However, the entire sandwich was super cold! I suppose all of the ingredients have just come out of the overnight fridge storage as it was really early when I came but still. a completely cold banh mi is not that appetizing. The location is awesomely convenient and I may try this place another time before continuing the search for a decent banh mi place in the neighborhood. I wish the hours were posted but this place looks like it’s still working on its opening.

New place nice inside with new clean floors, counters, chairs, and machines. The only problem was I read the notice on the door posted by the health department that stated thisj place has cross contamination and more violations. I ordered a sandwich and watched the cashier take everyone’s cash and give back change and turn around with out changing her gloves to finish making the sandwiches. I ask her why she did not wash her hands and change gloves to help stop the spread of many different types of germs. She only smiled. Now I understand why the notice posted on the door. The workers need to be certified in working with food.

***************************** 1415 *************************** Same owners as the Com Tam Thien Huong restaurants chain. This new place took over former BUNBOHUE #1 belong to Beef Noodle #1 next door, by Target area. The sandwiches are OK. The bread doesn’t make fresh here but from their sister location on Story Road. Unlike their other location, this one just offers strictly BANHMI sandwich and drinks, nothing else. Banh Mi Combo and Grilled Pork are good. Shredded Chicken is dried. And BBQ Chicken is OK. It’s about $ 4-$ 4.50 each. I guess they are still expanding, so I will check back in a few weeks. CASHONLY!
