My 13 yr old son has been taking lessons from Tim for almost a year now and my son loves it! Tim is so patient and kind and such a talented guitar player and singer himself. I’m looking forward to next year’s low-key and fun recital. In addition, as a single parent, Tim has been a supportive male role model for my son – thank you Tim!

Tim is a very knowledgeable guitar teacher. He is a very nice person. And he is very patient to students too. About myself, I am an engineer and 29 years old. I took a guitar class in college and then played several years inconsistently by myself. Now I’ve been learning from Tim for half a year. I spent three months on theory and basic techniques and then a song every one or two weeks. I am very happy that I made the decision to learn guitar from him.

Tim is a GREAT guitar teacher and a genuinely good guy. He is patient and always goes the extra distance to adapt to my needs as an intermediate guitarist. For example, on his own time, he dug up some lessons that were best suited to my needs to learn certain things I needed to focus on. He’ll give you all the tools you need to progress nicely toward becoming and accomplished guitarist.

Tim is a great teacher! I took several lessons with him last year and learned a lot from him. The handout and practice material is good and fun!

Tim Spangberg is, in a word, awesome! My son had been taking lessons with him for three years now, and the experience has been fantastic. Tim has taught my son how to sight read music, and how to play rock, blues, pop and praise music. Tim has taught him to transcribe and adapt musical notation. He gives yearly recitals, sends mp3 recordings for my son to practice with, and has a summer studio program, where makeup vacation lessons are turned into studio-quality recordings. Can say enough about him. Tim Spangberg is the bomb!

When I signed our son(9 ½ at the time) for guitar lessons ~ I didn’t know if he’d stick with it. A year and a half later ~ he is loving guitar and just had his second recital. Not only does«Mr. Tim» teach his students music theory, the basics of strumming and picking… he also finds out what kind of songs will motivate his students to keep playing and they work on those songs as wel! Tim is such a competent and incredible musician(I get to hear him play weekly) and he’s a patient, kind-hearted teacher! We are so grateful to have him in our son’s life!

My 13-year-old son has been taking lessons from Tim for about a year, and during that time he went from not playing at all to being able to play some really impressive stuff. And he takes the time not only to teach technique, also a good bit of music theory. And all with casual friendliness, patience and great guitar skills of his own. I have jokingly complained that I want my son to learn James Taylor and instead he’s learning Metallica riffs, but the fact is that this reflects an approach that incorporates whatever musical genre the student is interested in, and expands from there. So where my son wants to do some hard rock, Tim incorporates that with a mixture of other styles as well.(This week his assignment is some Blues, for instance.) The result is continued enthusiasm while his musical horizons continue to be expanded. I believe the proof is in the pudding. When I see such great progress in a short period of time, it’s clear that the teaching is getting the job done. This has been a really great experience all around.
