This place is not bad the food is pretty good but the service is not up to par. Before I would be okay with their service but lately they seem to have gotten worse in terms of service. We ordered a sushi boy roll and they had accidentally placed it on a neighboring table and it was sitting there for about 20 minutes, then they finally realized their mistake and took it away and decided to give it to us. They were having a talk with each other before deciding that they should just give us the sushi. When asked whether or not the roll had been given to the other table the server denied however when we said we saw the other server set it down and had taken it away to give to us she replied and said that indeed they did give it to the other table by mistake but they insured us no one touched it, but we saw what looked like a missing piece.

I’m a pretty big fan of Tokyo Sushi! So, I stumbled upon this place because my old faithful sushi spot, Sushi Coast, closed down. I went through some depression, but finally decided I needed to go and look for a new default sushi place. I happened to be living near the area so we ended up trying this place about 2 years ago. Fast forward to now, this has become our default sushi spot. Its never too crowded, the prices are decent, the staff is awesome. The sushi always tastes fresh and I love their rolls. The only reason I dock one star is because the selection of rolls isn’t great – there are a lot of rolls that have the same things. Thankfully, the things in their rolls are things I personally like, but I could see how some people feel like they need more variety.

this place is a great value. we have eaten here at least once a month for years and our bill is usually 30 – 40 dollars, no matter what we order. we can really pig out for 50 dollars. the quality is great and the staff are very friendly. we love sushi and usually fill the cravings here. just be prepared for the smallish parking lot!

First time here and I wasn’t impressed by the customer service unfortunately ! I could see if they were busy but I was the only one ordering and there was maybe one customer at the sushi bar eating … No smile no thank you for coming no sorry for the 30 minute wait nothing lol. Won’t be coming back here just on that fact despite if their food is good(which I haven’t even tried yet cause I was quick to Unilocal first lol)

Pretty standard sushi, I usually come here for the rolls and not sashimi pieces in general. Service can be quite slow, as they seem to be understaffed. The hot green tea is very yummy, and it’s a close sushi place when I’m craving sushi. Its teriyaki chicken is pretty yummy too! My favorite rolls to get are: –Red head roll(california roll — crab, avocado, topped with spicy tuna) –Samba roll(philly roll — salmon, cream cheese, avocado, topped with salmon and roe)

ZEROSTARS — MOSTAGGRESSIVELYRUDESTAFFEVER After we had ordered and sampled a hamachi appetizer, my friend mentioned to the server that the fish felt and tasted frozen.(This was after we had just finished a different hamachi appetizer that was fine.) The server, Cindy, rudely shouted back at us that this was NOTPOSSIBLE and then went over to the sushi bar to discuss this where the manger, Eric, shouted loudly for the whole restaurant to hear that it was NOTPOSSIBLE what were were claiming. I asked them to take away the appetizer and to remove from the bill as ANY normal establishment would do for a customer who was not satisfied. From that point on, we were ignored for any requests and I had to eventually stand up and walk over to get our bill at the end of the meal(every else, food-wise, was adequate). Of course the appetizer($ 8.50) was still on the bill. I asked them to remove to and they ignored us. I paid $ 42 in cash for a bill of $ 50.41 which included the tax. As we walked out the door, Cindy chased us down and in front of other customers accused us of not paying our bill. Cindy was holding the bill with the cash in her hand and a security guard(Marti) for the strip mall was there and saw what was going on. I said we had paid our bill but were not going to pay for the appetizer and we went to get into my car. Eric the manager came storming out yelling(in front of other customers) that we were stealing and started photographing my license plate. He called 911 and asked for the police to come. I was, by this time, angry and embarrassed to be accused of stealing and being shamed as a customer so I was walking behind him as he paced around the parking lot. I was speaking loudly(well, shouting) so that the police dispatcher could hear that this was not a one sided complaint. Meanwhile, Cindy was shouting at my friend and slammed the door of the restaurant in her face. Eric and Cindy went back inside and we waited with the guard outside. Once we all calmed down, I called the San Jose police non-emergency number to report this as well(since this was not an emergency), but was on hold for a while. The security guard suggested I call 911 anyway and when I did, the dispatcher confirmed that a car was on its way over. The police arrived and after a few minutes realized this was a waste of everyone’s time. The guard confirmed our story. The police told Eric that there was no crime here, this was a civil matter and we should exchange information. I gave Eric my card and took the one from the restaurant. I have never had a place not graciously take back a dish(and I RARELY ever do that) and they usually try to make things right, at best by replacing it or comping something else, but at the very least, removing the charge. I have NEVER had anyone loudly argue back that my complaint was invalid, loudly repeat the disagreement with other staff, chase me out of the building and call the police on me. Other Unilocalers seem to enjoy the food here, so if you want to go, knock yourself out. But I am not going back here ever again.

Such a great go-to sushi spot in my neighborhood. I was surprised to see it only had 3 stars. Each time I’ve come here, I’ve had a great experience. The servers are very friendly, helpful, and quick! I’ve tried so much off of their menu that I won’t list everything I’ve had but a few key players in the game are: — Sake Sashimi: Their raw salmon is SOOOOO fresh and delicious, I literally can’t have enough of this. — Brothers Roll: Absolute favorite, so many flavors happening in one bite. — Lemon Drop Roll: Scallops and lemon! A great combo. So delicious, I definitely recommend this spot to others!

I’ve been coming here for years with family and it’s merely for convenience and consistency. Food: Usually just order the two piece bento boxes and 1 – 2 rolls. Portions have gotten a lot smaller over the years. I usually get the salmon teriyaki and CA roll, included is miso(too salty), salad(yum), rice(plentiful), piece of gyoza and orange slice(dessert?). Sushi Boy roll is my favorite because it satisfies my craving for salmon, crab + spice. Lion King is hit or miss, sometimes too cold or completely falling apart from having been heated too long. Overall quality is okay, generally flavorful and satiating. Prices: I would say decent, but a bit overpriced for the quality not being the greatest and the portions having gotten smaller overtime. Ambiance: Calm, peaceful, seated quickly, fast/efficient service. This is the main reason why we come here. We never have to wait to be seated and our food comes out quick Service: Hit or miss without a doubt. Level of foot-traffic is always the same, so I don’t know why service isn’t consistent. Overall: Convenience and consistency, although not always the best, it’s good enough when you’re feeling famished and need a quick and filling meal.

Extremely large portion sizes. Not the low quality fish you see in lots of those Korean sushi place on el Camino or the supermarket sushi. Some things unique like grilled squid; looks like a cuttlefish. Sashimi salad and poke good. Poke not too salty like pacific catch; has a light vinaigrette dressing. Higher quality tuna.

I love this sushi spot. My favorite is the spicy crunch roll. They added new rolls into their menu and I fell in love with the tropical mango roll. This place is my go to spot. I would of gave this place 5 stars but sometimes the service can be unpleasant. I also don’t like how some waitress write there tips on the receipt with explanation marks. If the service is good I don’t mind and most of the time it is but some waitress can be rude and take forever to service you. Overall I love this place to let that bother me too much.

This place used to always be my go-to sushi spot since it’s near my house, but the past few experiences I’ve had were not too pleasant. Their sushi itself is pretty good don’t get me wrong. They have a decent variety and classic favorites of mine. On the menu, there are even pictures of the sushi which is helpful when ordering. The other day I came here with a few friends at about 6pm-ish. We were sat right away and given water. I think the waitresses don’t really speak english too well and sometimes come off as rude(not sure if it’s on purpose or not). We ate our rolls and had a good dinner but when the bill came it became tragic. This place adds on a tip automatically to your total. My table had split the tab and I was in charge of three rolls. For only 3 rolls I got an added tip of $ 8!!! Making our total about $ 55 for only feeding two people. Pretty expensive right? I always knew they added tips but it was always like two or three dollars, never 8 dollars. Anyways, we had to talk to one of the servers and they eventually removed the tip for us after a pretty heated debate. In short, their sushi and bento boxes are decent but you could find better service elsewhere. I’ll probably stick to Sen dai sushi(milpitas) for a while now. my tip for you – order take out from this place instead of sitting and eating

Bought 4 California rolls. Price says 3.95 on menu. Ordered a side of orange sauce(spicy mayo). As I’m about to pay the total is $ 20 and a few cents. I’m like wait: 4×3.95= $ 15.80. How is it $ 20? The lady says«oh the prices just went up. They are $ 4.50 each roll.» Then I look over at the menu and it says $ 3.95. Then she says«the prices JUST changed plus the spicy mayo is $ 1.00» for a tiny little thing of it. I’m done with this place. First and last time I go here. I want an honest and delicious place. Not a place that’s going to screw me over for my money!

My go to place when I’m desperately in need of a sushi fix. I call in my order and take it home since I live less than 5 minutes away. The fish in my rolls are usually room temperature which I don’t like, but deal with. I ordered the Ichiban Roll, Tracy Roll, James Roll, and Sake Maki this time around which came out to be a total of around $ 34. The James Roll is always a good cheaper option compared to the other rolls. The last time I got Tracy Roll, it was better. Today, the shrimp tempura was soggy and not crunchy at all. The entire roll actually just tasted kind of squishy. The Ichiban Roll(eel) is decent, but might not get again. The strips of eel they put on top of the roll is pretty tiny. You can’t go wrong with sake maki so that was fine. Do I love this place? No. Is it satisfactory? For the most part. Will I come back again? Yes. 3.5÷5STARS

Based on reviews and photos, this place never appealed to me but due to mere convenience… I stopped by a few times to pick up an order of the chicken katsu lunch box – which isn’t too bad. Last weekend, I decided to dine in while I waited for my next appointment. The restaurant was only about ¼ filled at this time. I gestured to the waitress that it was a table for«1» with my finger – she yelled out, «1?! By yourself? One person??» Ugh, way to point out the pink elephant in the room. After I sat down, about 10 minutes in— I NEVER got tended to! I looked straight towards the chefs who didn’t budge, I looked around and waved my arms to no avail. A total of four waitresses huddled in the corner and no one came to my table. I was so disgusted this is the first time I’ve ever walked out of a restaurant. Not coming back.

I really like the sushi here because of the big pieces, the toppings and delicious sauces for a lot of the rolls. Also, this is one of the cheaper sushi places, which is awesome. Customer service here is OK; I think the workers have good intentions and don’t try to be rude or forgetful on purpose, though it may seem that way. Going back to the food alone, it is super tasty. I recommend the baked rolls, Lion King and Bay Island, as well as the Super Spider Roll! Yum! Also, their bento boxes are pretty cheap, and you don’t get charged extra for choosing sashimi(which tastes delicious)! Takeout takes about 10 – 15 minutes if you’re planning on getting that(possibly longer on weekend nights), and minimum charge for credit card is $ 20.

I like the place a lot. The sushi here is really fresh, nothing tasting artificial or average. Every roll they have is filled with flavor and made with genuine artistry and care. The sushi chef’s are friendly if you sit at the bar. They have a wide variety of rolls and bento boxes. Sashimi is great, miso, too. The chicken could be a little meatier. The ladies who serve the food are friendly and responsive. I’m amazed by how fast they move. Lunch time is usually suuuuper packed throughout the week but they get you in and out in less than 45 mins which is perfect for that hour work lunch. Dinner time is not as busy, I’ve been on a Friday night at 7 pm and there were only about 6 – 8 tables. That’s less than half full. They have a couple tv’s if you wanna catch the game btw. And if no one else is seemingly interested, they let you have the remote.(They have direct tv!) I’m absolutely amazed by the servers though. Those ladies are QUICK. I was watching how they worked and noticed they only have 1 – 2 working the whole floor while also ringing people up, dealing with the take out orders and answering the phone. And not once did I have to ask twice for anything. They get to you right away and even wait to make sure that everything is ok with a nice big smile. Best service. They definitely deserve a generous tip. Did I mention the prices are pretty darn decent as well? Oh one thing to look out for. Parking! It’s kind of a pain there. It’s not a very accommodating lot considering how many other restaurants are in the area and how busy it always is. BUUUT of all the times I’ve been, I’ve(eventually) got one. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone! Try it out at least! You can’t go wrong here.

PARKING: is tough it is shared with an outside Asian plaza, but if you wait around long enough then you will find parking. INSIDE: nicely decorated like a homey Japanese restaurant. I like the wood booths toward the back. FOOD: LOVELOVELOVE their gyoza… crispy and thin on the outside. Their Rock n Roll doesn’t have anything raw and has a sweet taste to it. CUSTOMERSERVICE: lady remembers us from the other times we’ve been here. Once my niece threw up all over her plate, and she took it away and gave us extra napkins. Maybe that’s why she remembers us? haha. Either way, she welcomes us everytime we come back. TOGO: they have to-go which is always a plus when you want to get some good sushi to eat in the comfort of your own home.

Why, why, why do I still keep coming back here? It’s hard to say because it’s the closest sushi restaurant near where I live. But that’s no excuse when there are BETTER sushi restaurants not too far away. Honestly, my family and I used to love coming here. Service was — WAS! — great and the food was good too. Nowadays, they’ve hired new women servers that are just plain rude and inattentive. They’re incredibly slow and once you start showing aggression, that’s when they’ll «finally» pay attention to your table. So my mom, my sister, and I came here last night to eat because we were starving. We hadn’t eaten all day and decided we eat here. I told them we shouldn’t because I hate the quality of their food, but since we were down for whatever, we opted for Tokyo Sushi. It was a busy Friday night for them and we were immediately seated in the corner(where they obviously don’t care to serve). We waited literally 25 minutes to get a server’s attention. Apparently they have tunnel vision, LOL. You can obviously tell they’re avoiding you. The food was only OK because we were really hungry. My mom ordered the grilled squid with a side of rice. First off, their squid has decreased in size by SO much. I could’ve sworn their ika yaki was bigger than that. It was the size of my tiny hand. As for rice, they did not fill it up. My sister and I shared a chicken teriyaki bento box that had NO teriyaki sauce on the chicken. The only thing good about it was the tempura mix and the miso soup that came with it. We also ordered the Crispy Alaska Roll and Crunch Roll. Both sucked as well and those are the only 2 rolls I like from here. It took us forever to flag down a server here because they’re all over the place. You can see other customers’ faces getting irritated too because of their slow service! Don’t come here if you love poor customer service and low quality food.
