Decent place to attend. Casual outfit, so no need to dress to impress. Great space to dance and visit the place with friends. Bartenders are good and fast on their service. Downside, for the nonsmokers or dislike the smell of cigarettes DON’T sit or hang near the entrance! Overall, is an alright bar and grill to chill and hang with friends.

Had my birthday here 2 years in arrow! Bottle service is always good!!! Great deals on it as well. Bottle service server is amazing!!! Cant ever remember her name but shes been there the longest! Had her both times! Super fun times, no cover, laid-​back dress code, high forced security. Dance floor lil small butan athrooms are missed up :(on a few occasions.
Great hip-​hop overall favorite place to go!

In hopes to keep our night going my friends and I strolled inside maybe an hour and a half before closing and trying to get drinks felt like waiting for an eternity. I went to the other side of the bar to see if I can order our drinks quicker and in the end we ended up with two sets of drinks. More drinks more fun, right? Overall it was a chill place, nothing truly noteworthy for me tbh!

the problem that I had with this place was the other bartenders that seemed to be avoiding me when I was ready to spend my money!!! why would you avoid a customer trying to spend money on your business!!! especially when you guys are not busy, there is no excuse. The thing that made me NEVER wanna go here again was the rude female bartender with long hair and skinny frame. I dont know if she was having a bad night, if customers weren’t tipping her but FOR whatever reason she was RUDE AF when I asked her for my tab. Dont take out your anger on innocent people, stay ur rude ass home IF UR GUNA BE LIKE THAT, bitch.

I came here this past Cinco de Mayo, which also happened to land on a Two Dollar Tuesday. The night ended predictably enough, with me throwing my fast food against the wall, waking up my housemates and *almost* making it to my toilet before puking.
Overall, 4/​5, would return.

My girlfriend and I were sitting outside by the tables doing nothing And the fat mexican security guard came and told us to leave.

Wouldn’t let my friend in cause she had an out of state ID that was going to expire at the end of NEXT month. They insisted on seeing her Facebook and instagram accounts to prove she is real. Even after all that they still didn’t let her in.

THUMBS UP! I’ve never gone to this place and not had fun and that alone says a lot! Music is on point and the crowd is live! This place has room to dance and turn up. The best days to go are Tuesdays and Thursdays because of the 2 dollar drinks and it being nice and full. Everyone dresses casual here, I just through on some jeans and pumps and I’m set! Definitely recommended this place!

Nice kick back place in downtown. Went in for a couple drinks while killing time downtown. My drink was poured good and the hubs beer was cold. Bartender was fast and friendly.

After fleeing from SJBG which is a total dump, go read my review… we decided try Tres Gringos next door. Big mistake.
The bartender keeps her Iphone plugged into the speakers so most music is not good and unrecognizable. Then when the DJ does come, he plays just the right music to get about 8 people dancing.
This apparently must be an event for them as the proceeded to clear all seats out from the bar. Even though most the floor was empty.
When I asked if they could get my seat last, I was told «No… in fact I am taking your seat first!» With a bouncer giving me this type of aggravation, I told him I wanted my credit card as I had an open tab, and he could take my seat when I leave. He told me «You can get your credit card at the front door.» and proceeded to push me towards the exit.
I have rights… I have the right to get my credit card, and I have the right not to be manhandled while waiting for my credit card. Either way, I was put in an «Arm lock» and «escorted» out of the establishment.
FYI folks, I tried to file charges and have a police report taken. This bar is protected by the SJPD, as the SJPD. They were unwilling to take a police report, and after doing some research, apparently the thug bouncers caught a knifing suspect for the SJPD… and so now there are favors…
Look, don’t go here. Its like TJ in SJ, bad music, rude bouncers and bartenders, VERY expensive drinks, and worst of all, you will probably have your rights violated here and will not be able to do ANYTHING about it.
Go across the street… do not patronize such trashy establishments.

Says it closes at 2… false statement. I just left here and paid to get in and got a stamp and they wouldn’t let me back in at 1am. Literally they have the RUDEST bouncers. I tried asking them questions and they just kept pushing me and telling me to clear the sidewalk… a PUBLIC sidewalk. Yeah $ 2 are cool, but after 12 everything goes downhill. Everyone in San Jose needs to find a new place because this place is horrible.

Came here about a year ago for Twosdays, got my phone stolen. Avoided the place for awhile because it’s pretty ghetto and too college-​bar for my style anyway, but last night we decided to give it another go.
Get catcalled at by random ratchets on the street while walking to the bar. Oh well, it’s downtown Man Jose, what do you expect?
Wait in line for 5 – 10 minutes, give the bouncer (white guy with a beard) my ID. Here’s the thing: I’m 27. I’m a bartender. I have an out of state ID. The bouncer was rude from the beginning and I could tell he was going to make trouble. He did the bend test on my ID, blacklighted it to show the holograms, checked it against a book, and asked me some questions which I correctly answered. Then this asshole TAKES MY ID! He tells me that it’s fake (it’s not), and gives me a receipt with a number I can call to get it back. Thing is, they send your ID to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in SACRAMENTO. Luckily, I called the cops and had them verify that it’s a real ID — but if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have gotten it back for weeks!
So, the cop shows up and he asks the bouncer why he took my ID. The bouncer (clearly flustered and not smart at all) replies «Uhhh…well ummm, we have this system and it didn’t verify… and I asked her if she could prove she was from out of state and she couldn’t». Excuse me? What the hell do you want from me to «prove» where I’m from? I don’t exactly carry my birth certificate, W2s, or other things with an address I haven’t lived at for years on them.
Anyway, finally got my ID back and went merrily on my way to the Old Wagon (where they didn’t, don’t, and likely never will question my ID).
As a bartender, I do understand the concern about fake IDs, but I would NEVER do that to anyone! It was so rude and completely uncalled for.
I should also mention that my roommate’s out of state ID wasn’t questioned in any way or looked twice at. I’ll be filing a complaint with the ABC in the near future.

I guess of you ain’t a guy at this place you won’t get attended too right away at the bar.
I expect regular prices for drinks but honestly didn’t think they would be that expensive for drinks. The drinks at clubs in Vegas was cheaper.
There is no dance floor because the place is small, which bummed me out. Unless you a single lady to go with the DJ or you have a large group who is chill with just dancing behind people who r ordering drinks.
The only good thing was the music which was really chill

I’ve been coming to Tres ever since I turned 21. You either love this place or hate this place. As many places as I’ve checked out downtown, Tres has to be the best place downtown right now. It all depends on what you like and what atmosphere but Tres is borderline club because of all the great music their DJ’s play, you can’t help but dance your life away. The drinks are strong, and cheap! They always have different types of themes for every day of the week.$ 2 Tuesdays, Beerpong Wednesdays, Get Lei’d Thursdays, etc…
All the bartenders are so amazing and super nice. They definitely know what they are doing and you don’t have to wait for a drink super long. unless the drunk guy in front of you forgets his bar etiquette and stays there for days –_​-​.
One thing a lot of people say about this place is the «ghetto-​ness» and all those «ratchets»…Tres does bring in a certain crowd… but please do remember where we are. MAN Jose. Overall, I always have a blast there and what makes things more fun is the people you surround yourself with. so the more the merrier.
The security staff there is amazing. They put up with a lot of BS. People don’t realize how dumb people act until they stay sober and kind of watch people at a bar. It can get ridiculous. If you got kicked out or weren’t let in… its probably because you were drinking way too much or already did before you got in. As they say, save the drama for your mama!
With the summer around the corner, Tuesdays and Saturdays are the best days to go, but make sure you go early. cause they can hit capacity at like 10:30 sometimes!

I have a love hate relationship with tres.
I think that the wait to get in is always too long, but I appreciate how strict they are about dress code and valid IDs. They have a small outdoor area, can get really cluttered on a busy night. They started bottle service– becuase before there was no place to sit besides at the bar. It gets really packed– but there is no stopping I the isle way. It is super small. They have a tiny dance floor and a small upper deck bar. Overall the place is way too small for the amount of people it attracts– 2 stars
Drinks– they have good drink specials if you ask and 2 $ Tuesday is a hit
Food– at night they have a little taco truck in front and a man will cook you quesadillas or tacos :) it’s pretty good and the little man is funny!
Overall experience– I usually dread coming here, because it is either a hit or miss! Therefore sometimes I love tres other times I hate it!

Came here for a tres Tuesday around 11ish. it didn’t really get that crackin til an hour later but the crowd came like an unexpected wave in a huge storm! I was just hanging out with a few old friends and BAM the bar suddenly changed into a overcrowded dance crowd. I think this place is perfect for big groups. I’d definitely go again. Such inexpensive drinks and awesome bartenders. The dj played good music but ughh doesn’t take requests I don’t think. I asked for a song and he said yes but never played it… I was waiting all night :’(ahhhhs whatever. Met some new faces, had a great time, lovely place to let loose. I can see why people would go here every Tuesday.

Ughhhhh… so ghetto!!! I’m so over this place. I used to like this place until one time I went sober (I always go really shitfaced) and I didn’t realize how jankey this place is. I don’t really like the music they play here too. The 2 things i love about this place are dancing on the bar and free body shots. I guess its an alright place to come if your shitfaced. But I’m over it. Time to find a new place to go. See ya tres.

Tuesday is hellaaa crackin. 30+ people in line, I was with 6 asian girls, and they didn’t let us in –_​_​– we waited in line for an hour, but once we got inside, it was hella fun. mix of music, mostly black/​latino/​white crowd, have deals every night.
Cheap, ghetto, fun. Yep think that sums it up!
