Vanessa Rockey

Vanessa has been cutting my hair for several years. I wear a short pixie, which she cuts with a razor for precision. People always comment on how good of a haircut it is for weeks after the cut. I travel between the east and west coasts and try to save all of my haircuts for Vanessa because I love her technique. And, she is always wonderful to chat with.

Made an appointment yesterday through her online system (thank god, most hairstylists don’t have online scheduling). She heard my thoughts and gave me her recommendations– which were different from what I had in mind– I’m so glad to finally get a hairstylist who speaks her mind, doesn’t just agree with whatever I said. She gave me a gorgeous haircut, which is short and bouncy and easy to handle– all very important to me. She took her time, and converses with you casually– never pushes products or hair advice, just has good fun conversations. Clean, polite, quick, superbly organized, and really had some great ideas for my hair. I am definitely going back to her, and recommend everyone do the same!

She had me at her name, Vanessa and then at the fact that she knew our name means Butterfly in Greek. I was nervous going into the the process, but from the first consultation Vanessa really eased my worried mind and made feel comfortable that I scheduled my appointment for the next morning!
The consultation was quick and you can really tell that she loves her profession and she is very knowledgeable about hair. I initially wanted to go blonde but she steered me away from that idea real quick. I was to do something crazy to my hair but at the same time I was so nervous! I decided red highlights!
The next morning I arrived at 10:30 for my appointment and I was so excited! As the hair process began I was more and more comfortable with my new hair color! I came out loving my hair and it wouldn’t trade my experience for anything! Vanessa is awesome and I will be seeing her again soon!

It has been a month and a half since I got a Brazilian blowout and it still looks fabulous!
My hair is wavy and gets frizzy so easily. On a normal day I would spend a hour after showering blow drying and flat ironing my hair. I was nervous to spend the money on a BB but now that I was had one, I don’t know if I could ever go back! I get out of the shower, quickly blow dry my hair, and I am ready to go.
If you are on the fence about a Brazilian blowout, go for it!

I’d give Vanessa a 4.5 if they had that option. She’s far too good for a 4 though.
I was looking for a new stylist and wanted a good one. I searched Unilocal and google for answers and decided to try Vanessa. And I’m glad I did! She was able to even out a bad highlight job and match the colors so that you can’t even tell I went to two different stylists. I let her cut off more than most people would but now my hair is soft and silky. I love my new hair and I’m happy to say that Vanessa is now my stylist of choice.
The only reason I would knock off half a star is that I didn’t mention the 20% off for first clients but I did mention the website where I saw it. I wasn’t in the mood to haggle so I didn’t get the deal.
Then I bought about $ 170 in beauty supplies (which I’m extremely happy with Eufora). Ha!

I was ready for a big change. I met with Vanessa and explained my requirements. I was willing to commit to blow drying every morning but not much else. I have 2 very young kids and don’t have a lot of time in the mornings. Then I asked her for her advice… Yeah, I’m not going to style my hair but I want to look fabulous… Not the easiest thing for a stylist. She smiled, thanked me for my honesty and gave me her recommendation. Then off to the shampoo bowl where the chair has a kick out foot rest. While the conditioner was on my hair she gave me THE BEST scalp massage ever… ahhhhhhh. She cut off about seven inches of hair then blew dried and flat ironed. I looked great! This was not a «mom» cut. It was a classic bob with some edge to it. This was about 8 months ago and since then I’ve gone only to her. I still get complements and other women ask me where I had my hair done. Prices are reasonable and the salon is modern and comfortable. All the employees I’ve come across have been friendly. I recently had a Brazilian blowout done and an doubly happy. My hair actually looks better if I let it drip dry than if I blow dry and style… Amazing. I cannot recommend her enough!

I had been on the search for a new hair stylist for a couple years after moving to the bay area. I tried a couple different people and actually left in tears both times.
I am very picky about my hair color and as I’ve come to find out, some stylists truly have talent. I resorted to flying back to LA whenever I needed my hair done. With an increasingly busy schedule, it was getting harder for me to make it down to LA as often as I needed for my hair appointments. I did another search and found a salon in Los Gatos that carried the product my colorist in LA used. The receptionist scheduled me an appointment with Vanessa and I went with my fingers crossed.
I was very pleased with my first appointment with Vanessa. She took her time to find the perfect colors based on the photos I brought in of myself after having my hair colored in LA. I have found my permanent hair dresser, I am so happy and relieved. I have been going to her for over a year now and I always leave her chair loving my hair.
Vanessa obviously enjoys what she does and cares about doing it right.

Vanessa is a 5 STAR Stylist, TOP NOTCH!!!, you will be getting tons of compliments on your hair after Vanessa gets her hands on them. This girl definately knows hair, even difficult coarse curly hair like mine. I’ve never had softer or more manageable hair. My hair no longer feels coarse or dry. I absolutely love the highlights and lowlights. This is one thing I will not be cutting back on even in this tough economy. I’ve been going to her for years and could not dream of going anyplace else, now my co-​workers are enjoying the magic that is Vanessa and their hair never looked better.
