It’s a long drive from Santa Rosa to San Jose, but it’s worth it; I’ve always had a good time at Water Garden.

I drove all the way from SF and forgot my ID I had a work ID and plenty of credit cards but they would even consider letting me in and was rude about it. I will never try this place again.

Clean and busy, just what you want in a bathhouse. It also has a outdoor swimming pool with a hot tub close by. It is the outdoor spaces which make this bathhouse stand out. Just remember where you are and be safe!

My partner and I were very impressed with the facilities at Water Garden. The outdoor pool and hot tub area are very clean and well maintained. We went in the evening. The soft lighting, fireplaces, palm trees all add up to make it feel like a relaxing resort in Palm Springs or something. The crowd was light, and not very active, but it was still a nice relaxing place to hang out for a few hours.

Honestly not deserving of anyones time Night staff can be down right rude. MY friends have called and reported this location for promoting illegal activities.

The Watergarden appears clean but don’t make that assumption in a bath house. Take precautions. First NEVER put your face/head underwater in the pool or sauna! Secondly put something between your bare ass and the tile benches in the steamroom. Sit on your towel. I know you want to let it all hang out but DON“T. That goes for sitting or laying on the benches in the Porn theater or the TV room. It just one little bug in your asshole area to get deathly ill! Those little critters move real fast.

The building and Facility get a 5 star. But if your looking for SEX Forget it! Majority of guys here are OLDFATMEN. If you like the out of shape 65 year old + crowd its here. Or the Yong Asian and Latin guys that only associate with their own kind and sit in a corner chattering in their native language. Place is a disappointment from what it was like years ago. If you are looking for action try the Steamworks in Berkley. At least the guys there want to play

Excellent. I’ve been to many bathhouses in my lifetime and the Watergarden was one of the best ones. The only better one was Steamworks in Chicago. I’ve been to dumps all over America and Canada, the Watergarden is wonderful. It’s clean and the staff were incredibly friendly. At 100% of other places they are rude, not here. It has a lovely pool and large jacuzzi and I encountered 0 attitude. I loved: — Clean clean clean, spotless. Loved this. — Nicely decorated place, lovely décor in the lounge. — Vending machines had *everything* and decent prices — Love of space to move around I didn’t like: — No outlet in rooms to charge cell phones — No sauna — Steam room is super melt-your-skin-off hot and dark and they refuse to lower the temperature a little bit despite the complaints. — Membership prices are high, but then again its an expensive zip code so I can kind of forgive it. I can’t believe the bad reviews, you guys are spoiled. Go visit other bathhouses around America that are crack dens, the Watergarden will look like heaven to you lol.

This bath house is really just a front for a sex club! It’s not a good place to relax at all, unless looking at and being hit on by old, hairy, out of shape men is your idea of relaxing. There are even hookers! If you’re looking for a legit bath house where you can soak and relax, this isn’t it!

The Watergarden is poorly managed and operatged in an extremely unprofessional manner. The problems start from the vey top and filter down the chain of command. I have to agree with some of the comments of the other Unilocal reviewers regarding the overpowering, oppressive, and incredibly rude Latino Mean Queens who do nothing but gossip and talk s**t about the customers. Oh, and by the way, most of the bitchy rude comments are in Spanish. It is incredibly rude for the workers to be communicating almost exclusively in Spanish when customers are present. While at work, the only time that they should be speaking Spanish is on their breaks/personal time or maybe when a co-worker has trouble understanding a directive when given in English. While in the work environment, it’s completely inappropriate. I’m not being racist or jingoistic(look it up), it’s just about not making the guests in your business uncomfortable – especially when you’re in the hospitality business! The two other major drawbacks relate to the music and the lack of areas in which customers are allowed to play. The music that they play there is not sexy at all. In fact, it’s usually so bad that it’s actually distracting. Who can have sex to songs like the theme song of ‘Grease’ and ‘Hello Dolly’??? I can’t. I honestly thought that I was being Punked! However, with the music being so inconducive to sex, it’s almost a relief when they turn the music down really low around 12−1am. This happens even on Friday and Saturday nights which I find unbelievable. When I asked why they do this, I was told that they turn the music down so that the people who are sleeping in their rooms aren’t disturbed. REALLY??? REALLY!!! The staff don’t seem to realize that it’s a BATHHOUSE – NOT A HOTEL! Finally, the last major problem with this place is the lack of places where guys can play. You can’t play in the huge living room with the fireplace and the pool table. Can’t play in the TV lounge next to the concession area. Can’t play outside around the pool or the firepit. Can’t play in the rear outdoor area. Can’t play in the gym. And– you can’t play in the showers. If you don’t have a room, you’re limited to the porn video area or the steamroom. I have to admit – the remodel of the porn video lounge is great! No complaints there. However, using the steamroom as the only other place to play in this whole huge bathhouse is not only ridiculous, but also extremely unsafe. I’m surprised that someone hasn’t passed out and died while playing in that steamroom. The owners, whom I’ve never seen in all of my visits to this club, should really take a look at the incredible amount of space that is wasted in the club. Let me say it again — –this is not a lobby at the Courtyard Marriott by the airport. IT’S A BATHHOUSE!!!

The Watergarden is a clean, well run bathhouse. The single level facility has private rooms, lockers, a small gym area, showers, a steam room, a lounge with a pool table and a fireplace, vending machines, a broadcast television area, and a porn area showing gay porn. There is also a beautiful outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The facility is clean and does feel like a Marriott hotel, as one other reviewer noted. The steam room is particularly impressive as it’s clean and maintained and smells like eucalyptus — a definite improvement over the usual bathhouse steam room. I also found the staff to be friendly, polite, and non judgemental. The crowd was definitely 30+, so this is not the place for young studs, but I certainly found enough variety and sexiness to keep me occupied. My only complaint was the price(I paid $ 24 for a locker), and their policy concerning public sex. They only allow sexual activity in the porn area or the steam room(or your private room of course). And they seem to strictly enforce this policy. I understand that it’s perhaps much easier for them to maintain the facility by enforcing this policy, however part of the fun for me is the public, exhibitionist nature of it all. But again, this is a very well run facility — perhaps the cleanest bathhouse I’ve ever visited. Highly recommended.

If you’re into soft hairless Asians who scurry around like they’re the sole waiter at a banquet, or if you simply have no standards in sex partners, this is the place for you. That said, the hot tub was very clean, hot and energized with bubbles; on the cold night that I was there it was perfect. When the timer stopped the bubbles, a friendly staffer told me to stay in the water, he would reactivate it. I found the staff courteous and they always seem to be busy working. After thirty minutes, I gave up on the place, showered off the tub’s chemicals, dried, dressed and dashed for the exit. On the way out a staff member wished me happy holidays; that’s more than what the too-hip-for-the-room A-holes at most stores will do. I paid $ 24.00 for a locker on a Saturday night — that’s steep. Over all, I was better served staying at home with porn and lube.

I was eightysixed from the water garden after rightly accusing the manager of discrimination. I saught employment, enquired about my application and heard my file discussed in Spanish by the manager and one of his employees. I confronted them about it immediately after. When I walked out to my car to leave, I heard laughter from a rear employee access door. Then I saw a fresh white scratch along my passenger door. I called the cops and they took a report. I purposely avoided the place ever since. Then someone wanted to go there and asked me to go. That’s when I learned I was taken off the list. I say DISCRIMINATION. I am black and all but 1 of the 13 employees there are Latino.

Was just there yesterday… After skimming thru the mixed reviews here I do agree that majority of the staff working up front DOHAVEATTITUDE… Other than that the facilities is kleen and well kept 24÷7… The guys/men that go to WG do vary from the time of day from hot lookin guys, average joes and yes a lot of ugh lookin types. Oh yeah, whats up with guys walkin around clothed? I just noticed that they slightly modified/renovated the main auditorium area and sorta created a maze like corridors. Hey WG, how bout installing/creating a glory hole? My sexual encounters at WG often a hit or miss so I make the best of it when I am there. But a lot of guys do send of attitude themselves or hating on the unsightly types that does not meet their quota… If you set your standards way too high you pretty much gonna get jack sh#t in return too also.

This is the cleanest bathhouse I’ve ver been too. It is also has a pleasant modern interior. Rooms are a good size. Lighting levels are perfect. I’ve never been to a bathhouse that doesn’t feel sleazy, except this one. Get your dirty on without feeling dirty about it.

Well, I’m reviewing the Watergarden strictly as a spa or mini resort. The hot tub is clean, the water hot and clear. The lap pool is immaculate. You don’t need sandals either. It is so nice being able to sun completely starkers in a very nice area with lounge chairs surrounding the pool. Very relaxing. Now this is NOT the place to go if you’re really horned up because the majority of the clientele is fat, ugly, revolting, gross, and fingering their teenie peenies under their bellies. People of that ilk are generally very aggressive so you might have to spray them with Raid. The sexual temperature is downright cold. On a crowded day, there are also gaggles of boys just yaking it up and hanging out. Buzz kill. Not conducive to doing any naughties. However it gets an A+ as far as spas or local resorts go. The staff is friendly and helpful. No attitude.

This is a place that almost transcends the term bathhouse. The clientele is 100% gay men so far as I know. It requires a membership to get in and you have the option of renting a cubby hole of a room or just enjoying the public areas. I usually opt for the latter. The place has been very clean on my visits and those have occurred over a long period of time(1995-Mar 2006). My favorite part about it is the outdoor hot spa, which is set in a private courtyard that is the presumable origin of the name Watergarden. Huge and feels great on a sunny day as well as a gray or drizzly day. Update: Came back to the Watergarden on Nov 8, 2007 and they have made ongoing improvements, they have a new workout area, more vending, & some additional play products. I took a swim to get the juices flowing(wish they’d used more of the available space for a full 25 meter pool but oh well I swam laps anyhow and it was OK).
