Crawfish, fried fries + fried catfish, fun people, some kinda triaminic shot, and chocolate EVERYTHING… this is how I best sum up my night.
Three cheers for HUY, Mr. SJ Party himself. Most people might scream his praises for providing free alcohol. I prefer to thank him for the awesome time and free dinner! Karma has spun me some good energy, and thanks to volunteering a while back, I was lucky enough to
enjoy some delicious free food.
Big HI-​FIVE to Thai and Crawdaddy’s for accommodating our rowdy, hungry, dirty dirty party! When was the last time you saw Unilocalers in bibs! We basically owned the joint. The southern part of me loved this event because it takes me back to my days in TX where I first experienced a crawboil. Good times… who knew I did not have to go all the way to SF to get my crab on!

Shout out to Mikey and Huy for getting us our CORN! Woo hoo!

If you like southern Cajun style seafood, CrawDaddy in San Jose, CA is the place to be. They have variety of dishes similar to the kind you would find in Louisiana. The people were friendly and the service was great. What more do you want from a restaurant? I know I know… fully stock bar and Happy Hour. ^_​^ If you’re in town, swing by and check out this place.

My first UYE thanks Joon Y. for telling me about it. =) It was really fun watching Joon and my friend, Erica, devour the shrimp and crawfish. (I’m also allergic to shellfish — epi-​pen in the purse)
Everyone was so rowdy, happy, drunk (perhaps?), and definitely so friendly! It was nice «mingling» with people within those short few seconds of introductions, and please don’t kill me if I’ve forgotten your names! gomen nasai!

Thanks to Thai for a great restaurant, Brandon for the alcohol, and Mikey for always being you (not in a bad way!) and of course everyone who i met didn’t meet it was lots of fun!

This is my 2ND UYE Event and it’s always a fun time.
Great food, alcohol (always) and delicious desserts (yum!)
alcohol (i only remember the patron since i tried it) but there was also Bacardi and the royal alcohol with it’s own special velvet casing; and desserts.. oh my! :) let’s see there was the lovely chocolate covered strawberry tree (both covered with white and dark chocolate)
mini madelines (so cute), truffles (yumminess) and brownies. (how can anyone turn down brownies).
Can’t wait till the next UYE event

Another great time had by Alli and I at our second Unilocal UYE! I love the food at Crawdaddy’s and was glad I got to take my two friends (Alli and Jan) out to enjoy the great food and great company.
Brandon– Thanks for throwing the bash and bringing the yummy chocolate strawberries, you’re crazy!
Thai– Thanks for dealing with all the wild Unilocalers taking over a large portion of your restaurant. it was nice to meet you.
R.J.- For always being so cool to sit next to at these UYEs!

blah… im recovering from drinking the clear white stuff. I’m a dark type of guy and drinking on a empty stomach. All I had to eat was Café sau da with Brandon in the morning and 5 pieces of Flaming Cheetos. B-​Dawg said he had 5 pieces of Doritos and Café sa da.
Thanks everyone who came out! I probably remember some of you but not all. I couldn’t even get people whom I met before like Carol. I think I called her Cindy and she got really offended. lol I don’t care =P J/​P Carol.

Being the diplomat… here’s the same review I posted on the other Crawdaddy posting (yes Vicky… I can’t choose between you and my brother Ron L… HUGS to you both… reviews too!):
First things first: It was verified that John-​Michael scooped one of my *saved* Mara brownies… yes…he took one! I go home and place it in the frig only to find out the next morning that my son scooped the last two… sigh…they were that good Mara… ok…on with the review…
Honest…I tried to get there early Rachel… but I guess I missed my chance for face time on film! Guess you, Ron L., Noelle W., Brandon and the other early birds will have to hand out autographs for your starring roles while *posing* as regular customers at Crawdaddy!
Brandon…you sure know how to throw an awesome UYE!!! Remember this my *adopted Unilocal son*…Caravella Orangecello is an after dinner drinky meant to be sipped… not slugged down sweetie! :0) LOL… at least you won’t have any coughing problems for the next couple of days… hehe…
Thanks also to Thai for welcoming the SB Unilocalers to Crawdaddy! Your staff and the service was great… under pressure and never flagging one bit ~ that was amazing! The food was delicious as well!

Thanks Thai for hosting a huge group of rowdy Unilocalers taking over your restaurant. The crab was amazing and I loved the breading on the catfish. My hub will definitely love this place… we’ll be back soon!
Thanks Huy for being a great unofficial host and all the coordination and booze that was consumed. I had a good time people-​watching FOR SURE… nevermind incriminating photos. HAH! Oh and thank your gal for the strawberries, white chocolate… mmmm.
YAY for finally meeting some of my favorite Unilocalers like Jaye and Anna and Ali! It was way overdue… hugs all around… I love friendly Unilocaly crawfish hands hugs. Vicky L… how did I miss meeting you AGAIN? This seriously has to stop! ;)

i had such a fun time tonight! it was awesome. i can’t believe what i’ve been missing out on! food was good and the alcohol was even better! thanks brandon for making this happen! good lookin’ out with the chocolate covered strawberry tree and booze!!! my favorites were the crab, crawfish and oysters (deep fried and raw). thanks to everyone who made something because it was delish! we are a rowdy bunch, aren’t we? haha my fingers still smell like crawfish! good times y’all.

I bet this is the first UYE that will be on television. Lots of good food, drink, friends, drink, conversation, drink,…you get the idea.
I felt the royal presence around me with so many active Unilocalers in attendance. This was probably one of the biggest UYEs, with easily over 50 people in attendance.
Look out for the next Brandon H. event and skip «Sounds cool» and go directly to «I’m in».

Holy cow!!! Unilocalers are a crazy bunch. Alcohol… Chocolate thanks to Brandon! And lastly… All the freaking crawfish and shrimp we could eat. It was super messy and I used a forest worth of paper towels, but it was worth it.
It was totally fantabulous meeting some Unilocalers for the first time, and meeting up with some other ones again. :)
Now a quick blurb about the food since I’ll do an extended review at the restaurant listing, Sam H., who grew up in Texas, is highly critical of Southern food. Amazingly enough, he gave his seal of approval — we will be back again soon…
And just to clarify since Beth sent me a message… for those who covet that FTR, get an iPhone! Muahaha… that’s how I managed to post this while we were all hanging out!

So this is how Brandon throws a UYE? Looking forward to the Tamarine UYE and the Scavenger Hunt if it’s anything like what happened tonight at Crawdaddy.
Lots of spicy crawdaddys, desserts, and of course, alcohol was consumed. Kudos and thanks go to:
Thai: For serving up some damn good cajun crawdaddys, fries, chicken, shrimp, and anything else that was in the ocean recently and allowing our rowdy bunch to enjoy in it.
Mara: For the raspberry brownies. Un-​be-​lieve-​able! Never ceases to amaze. Honestly, why hasn’t she opened up a bakery?
Noelle: For the truffles. I HEARD they were good. Late-​comers like me were left without the opportunity to indulge on these spherical delights.
Beth: For the orangecello disguised as Triaminic cold syrup. I’m sure I won’t be getting a cold now thanks to that «liquor». Brandon’s reaction after he had a shot of this was priceless.
And last but not least, the brainchild of this event Brandon: Thanks for the alcohol, the tower of chocolate-​covered strawberries, and setting up this event to make it one of the best all year. Frontrunner for UYE Planner of the Year I’d say.
