Its a well maintained bike path 2 miles in each direction from Dana Point Beach. It passes a few parks, but it also passes low income housing apartments, trailer parks, a sewage treatment facility(Phewww!), and commercial industrial. It can feel a bit like something bad can happen to you if you are alone here – but probably not. It’s just not that uplifting, and can feel somewhat depressing looking at the way some American’s have to live when we give billions to other countries and our industry and jobs away to Mexico and China… Don’t get me started! It is what it is – a path away from cars, 4 miles R/T from the beach – give it a shot – or not. Toss up.

Easy trail with some underpass. We took this path from San Juan Capistrano Metrolink Station down to Dana Point Harbor, just about 4 miles or so one way. There were more industrial views than scenic spots until you reach the harbor. From SJC Metrolink Station, the historic district, take River Street(away from the parking structure), make a left on Paseo Adelanto, make a sharp right at the corner of Del Obispo to hop on Trabuco Creek Trail. Pedal down for a short while until you cross over the bridge to the right to merge onto San Juan Creek Trail. Then cruise down to the harbor for some fun. All dedicated path and easy to maneuver, hard to get lost.

Nice trail(multi-use) by the beach. We enjoyed the section by Doheny State Beach in particular.

Nice bike trail — wasn’t too crowded early on Sunday morning. We only rode from San Juan Capistrano off Calle Arroyo to Dana Point Beach. We passed a few dog parks on the way, parts of it were scenic and parts were pretty industrial but all in all it was a great time!
