San Juan Dental

Been a patient here for years. Very satisfied with the quality of work. I like the staff and doctor very much. They always accomodate my schedule last minute. Very affordable compared to other dentists. They are conservative and didn’t over diagnose my treatment like my previous dentist. Nice thing is that Dr. Ekhtiar is available on weekends as an emergency. She came in to see just me when I had a toothache on Sunday. She started to fix my tooth and finished quickly and painlessly. It was a good experience especillay to get out of pain.

My son fell and broke his front tooth today. I was in a panic and since I had seen dr. Ekhtiar at her mission viejo office, I called her on the emergency line. She answered the phone promptly and agreed to meet me at the office in San Juan location. She fixed his tooth expertly with no discomfort. She was extremely sweet and patient with him. She was nice enough to not even charge an after hours visit which all doctors do. She actually cares which is a rarity in medical community. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking for a truly competent and caring dentist.

I do not write reviews very often, but I feel strongly that the public be warned about this dentist. Dr. Ekhtiar seems like a very nice and competent dentist. My 9 year old daughter was comfortable with her on the first visit. Then at her 6 month check up 6 cavities had appeared between the two visits. It seemed excessive to me, but Dr. Ekhtiar said my daughter was probably grinding her teeth. She broke one of my daughters teeth and there was crown put on, she never spoke to me of a crown before after or during the procedure. They knew that I had new insurance that was unfamiliar with and exploited that. They fraudulently over charged me more $ 600.00. They had insurance coverage spreadsheets and everything they showed me when I questioned them. We only found out about it when my husband complained to his companies HR about their terrible dental coverage. My insurance called to confront the dentist and never received any calls in return. It took us over a month and filing in small claims court to get a refund. The dentist also refused to give me a copy of my daughter’s x-​rays as I question if unnecessary work was performed. And to top it all off, one of the fillings was done so poorly that it got infected and we had to have the tooth pulled 6 months later. And apparently they are very skimpy with the nitrous as my daughter had a much better experience with the new dentist.

I visited Dr. Ekhtiar for a follow up cleaning. Just like the first time, she was able to perform the procedure without any numbing whatsoever and I left the office feeling just as great as the first time I went. She really does care about her patients and she makes the entire experience as pleasurable as possible. Her demeanor and attention to detail makes you feel comfortable as if you visited a friend rather than a dentist. I know a lot of dentists get a bad rap but my experience has been quite contrary. Her staff is also quite attentive and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate you and you can feel that they do really care. I wish the best of success to Dr. Ekhtiar and her staff!
