Ace Moving

Ace has moved me seven times in the last 16 years. Kenny and his team are professional and efficient. I trust them with everything from my antiques to kids toys. I’ll call them the next time I move. They make moving easy!

Could not have asked for a better moving experience. They were more affordable than most of the others and did exactly what we needed/​wanted in a very timely manner. Their trucks are old school but don’t let that fool you — they mean business! The guys were super nice. I would not use anyone else if I had to move again. I always recommend them when people ask about movers.

I spoke to Ken on Saturday (⁶⁄₁₁) at 4:30pm and scheduled a two hour move for the following Thursday. On Monday morning (⁶⁄₁₃) at 9:00am I got a call that things fell through and we were no longer able to move. I called ACE Movers at 9:30am that same morning to cancel my booking. Technically this is less than 24 hours from the time I booked seeing as they are CLOSED on Sunday. The woman told me they were charging my credit card $ 200 for cancelling. I never agreed to a $ 200 cancellation fee! I can understand if I booked the move a week ago (or more) and then waited until the absolute last minute to cancel but this was not the case. I would certainly understand having to pay a fee in that event. The $ 350 cleaning service I booked didn’t charge me a dime to cancel. They considered it within a decent window and want me to consider them for future bookings which I most certainly will. As for ACE MOVING… NO WAY! That lady was downright AWFUL!!!

I love Ace Moving. Stephanie is wonderful. Ken & JD are the best. I’ve had the pleasure of using them several times now over the past 10 years and their service has remained consistent. EXCELLENT. Not once has anything arrived at my new location broken, misplaced, etc. They even help me with figuring out where furniture should be placed depending on the space. And the best part for me — they set up my bed!!! I’m hoping I don’t have to move anytime soon, but if and when I do, Ace Movers will be the ones

I have moved a dozen times in the Bay Area and Ace Moving has been the only mover that has been stellar from end to end — front office, communication, professionalism and quality of service. Not only did they move me without a scratch to anything, but did it cheaper than others as well.

This was my first time using movers, and I’m very glad I found the guys at Ace. My husband and I spent days packing and schlepping all our stuff to a storage unit when we sold our house last month, and in just 2 short hours Kenny and his partner were able to get us completely out of the storage unit and over to our new place in Alameda. The time and stress savings was incredible!

Hi fellow Unilocalers. Seldom do I provide reviews on Unilocal.You can say I’m sorta old fashioned and typically spread the word of mouth by, well, by mouth. However, this is one of the few times that I need to give major kudos to Kenny and his partner at ACE moving co. out into cyberspace. They helped us with our move in August and they were efficient, quick, but careful. I think one of them said that they had been in the business for 20+ years. Well it showed. These two dudes had the logistics down to a fine art and I kinda just sit back and let them do their thing, not to mention get out of their way. This is unusual for me based on someone who myself have moved a couple dozen times. And the last few times I remembered having to orchestrate paid professional movers on how to do their job better. Now I wondered why I even paid them when I could’ve gotten a few of those dudes from Home Depot.
Other than that, my experience was great from the beginning where I called several times to change moving dates. The scheduler was always very accommodating and patient. She was also upfront with getting discounts by paying in cash or having a non-​weekend move date and suggestions to make the move go faster since it’s by the hour. But be warned, these guys are so good and of great value that they are typically booked 3 maybe 4+ weeks out so plan early.
And if any of you wonder if I called different places for their cost? Well you damn skippy I did. One competitor sent their English accent person over to «evaluate» the amount of things we had and gave me a quote twice what it cost me with ACE. So yeah, I would use these guys again if I move again but God I hope not after a couple dozen moves already logged. Not worries though on lack of repeat business because y’all be getting my referral bizness.

I was very satisfied with Ace Moving. I contacted several movers and Ace Moving offered the most reasonable rates, reasonable minimums and billing on 15 minute increments after the minimum time was met. Kenny and JD were friendly and efficient, moving our furniture quickly but efficiently. When asked to drop off our old couch at a donation center, they suggested calling ahead because the donation center might be rejecting large items. This was great advice that helped us avoid wasting moving time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ace Moving to anyone!

They did it again! I moved after only 3 years and accumulated a lot of stuff in the period of time. This time, I utilized the packing services and they were able to perform miracles in a short amount of time. One day they packed, next day they moved.
I can’t thank them enough for all of the work they did, assembling and disassembling, etc.
I even got a taste of my own sarcasm back this time (to know me is to understand this is a plus).

We’ve used Ace Moving now two times and another family member used them once a few years back. Ace Moving was recommended to us by a realtor and we’d use them again and again! To note, years ago we used one of those cheap moving companies, but after nickeling and diming us (not to mention mandatory tips), we had enough.
Now, don’t let that giant van scare you. It’s a beast and it’s old, but it gets the job done and done well!
Kenny and JD moved our 2br house to a 4br, then from that 4br to another 4br house. It’s amazing that they are able to move everything so quickly and so gently! These guys are definitely pros at their trade. Super courteous and efficient. No BS chatting or dragging their feet to increase the time on the job.
If you need a couple rooms to a large house moved, be sure to call Ace Moving. No funny business and a job well-​done!

I meant to write this a while ago, but life has a funny way of filling up every minute and so, while my review is late, it is heartfelt and I owe it to Ace Moving (Kenny and JD) because they did such a terrific job.
My husband and I were so pleased with their service. From setting up the initial appointment to the day of the move, they were timely, polite, considerate, and hard working. Their estimate was comparable to other companies I contacted and, in some cases, noticeably lower. They were professional from start to finish and the service was excellent. No bumps, breaks or other unfortunate mishaps that can make moving even more stressful.
I highly recommend Ace Moving without hesitation and shall use them again when the need arises!

By far the best Moving company in the Bay Area! And if you think doing it yourself is cheaper & easier, WRONG!
This review is long overdue as I’ve used ACE for 2 moves already! Great customer service, accurate quotes and VERY reasonably priced. Most importantly the guys are professionals! They can do it in half the time of my buddies and I and they work well together.
With one final move upcoming, I plan on using ACE!

After reading the Unilocal reviews, I contacted Ace Moving in December 2013 for a January 2014 move (short; just from Oakland to San Leandro). Now, in February 2015, I’ve contacted them again for a move back to Oakland. I wouldn’t even consider any other moving company. And you shouldn’t either.
Ace is truly the best. From the moment Stephanie answers the phone you KNOW you’re in good hands. No pressure at all!
Regarding my previous move, Kenny and JD were on time, courteous, FAST and extremely careful. I had several «uh, I don’t know how you’re going to move that» moments and there was never an issue or a moment of hesitation. The ultimate in professionalism.
Finally, the quote was accurate and there were no hidden fees or games. I truly cannot say enough about Ace Moving! They’re truly top-​notch and well-​deserving of their stellar Unilocal rating. Don’t hesitate: just call them!

I wanted to find a local company that could move us from our 2^nd floor 2 bdr apartment to our new house just 2 miles away. Ace Moving was EXCELLENT. On time and careful with our belongings. Moving is incredibly stressful, even when it’s for the better. So having movers that can take care of that big task is such a relief. They were friendly and very fast. When they had moved everything into my house, I was asked to inspect the inside of the truck to ensure all my items were removed.
Everything from my first call into the office, to the final signing of the agreement at the end was easy.
Saturdays book QUICKLY, so book as far in advance if you can. I ended up moving on a Friday and taking the day off work because of that. It worked better that way.

I’ve always been in a position to have to move myself. But this past Oct I moved from a 1400sf house to a 2700sf house and we wanted help from professionals. My agent Lynn recommend Ace and I’m so glad she did. Ken and his team were the best. It was such a great experience I’d not mind moving again if I was able to use this great company again!!! I STRONGLY recommend ACE!!!

Kenny and JD came to my rescue again! They are always on time, professional and hardworking. They have moved a couple of antique bedroom pieces for me twice now and still took care to pick up any 100-​year old nails that fell from the pieces and put them back where they belonged. They always reassembled my beds, couches and desks without asking. I don’t know how they get everything on that one truck!
They are miracle workers and always my go-​to-​guys for moving.
