Angel Express Shuttle

This should tell all:

Saw the report of CBS 5 Investigates and have to agree with the customers interviewed (although they should’ve looked into the company a bit more) that the owner Mohammmed Ali Baba or whatever is a person simply out there to take advantage of innocent customers trusting his shuttle service.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I made the reservation online for private service. Used my CC to hold the reservation. I never received a confirmation e-​mail until I contacted them again asking for one and I was informed I would only receive ONE confirmation. The driver was early and picked me up in a sedan… nice! I asked the driver when he dropped me off how much the service was? He said $ 59.00. So, I pulled out a $ 50 and $ 20 and asked for $ 5 back ($ 59 + $ 6 tip). Gave the driver my $ 50 and $ 20 and he gave me $ 5 back. CASH. Left for my trip. Came home a day early and was able to rearrange getting picked up. The SAME driver (a young guy, black curly hair, one lazy eyelid) came to pick me up in a HORRIBLE van. Honestly I thought the van was going to rattle appart before I got home! After he brought in my bags I paid him AGAIN IN CASH (like I’ve always paid in cash no matter what shuttle service I’ve used in the past, so it was nothing new) another $ 65.00. This time in a $ 10, $ 5’s and $ 1’s. As soon as I settled in I opened my mail. I saw a charge for $ 59 on my CC statement and called Angel Express. The women who answered, Donna told me she would have to check into it and call me back. I waited an hour and called her back and she said she hadn’t been able to check into it yet and when she did she would call me. Before we hung up I asked why on earth would her driver think I would pay him a $ 65 tip for a $ 59 service!!! She didn’t answer that question. I then called my CC company and told them I did NOT authorize the charge of $ 59 to my CC. While they were taking my information for the dispute I asked them to check and see if my CC had been charged the day I was picked up from the airport coming home. They looked and no I was not charged on the day I was picked up from the airport, I WAS CHARGED A SECOND TIME WHILE I WAS STILL ON VACATION! I told them I wanted to dispute both charges because I had NOT authorized Angel Express to charge my CC AND I had paid the same driver twice in CASH $ 65!!! Donna called me a few days after my calls to her and said on my answering machine that her driver states I never gave him any cash and that I had requested «prepayment» on my online reservation so that’s why my CC was charged. She followed up with an e-​mail saying that the CC charges would stay. I wrote back to her telling her that her driver is a THEIF! In all the times using shuttles to and from the airport I’ve NEVER received a receipt for the cash I’ve paid them because I’ve always traveled for personal pleasure not for business. My CC company has informed me that because I have no receipt for the CASH I paid the driver and Angel Express states I wanted to prepay for the service they were’nt going to refund the 2 $ 59 charges that Angel Express made!!! So Angel Express STOLE $ 130 from me!!! I’ve contacted the BBB, written a review here and will write a review WHERE EVER I CAN to inform innocent people that this company STEALS from it’s clients. After reading the other reviews on this site I’m worried sick that these THEIVES will continue to charge my CC as they have previous clients. I will be contacting my CC company again tomorrow to inform them they should read Unilocal reviews on this company and reconsider my dispute!

Lesson? ALWAYS get a receipt for ANY cash transactions you do in business and check out, read, review any company you plan to do business with, even something as simple as an airport shuttle.

This service was a bit sketchy. The van is very rickety and I believed I would not actually end up at the airport. They are soooo pricey and they were somewhat unclear about their pricing. I would never use this service again.

I used Angel Express to transport people to and from my wedding. The good thing was that they showed up on time. One big disappointment was that neither of the drivers knew where they were going, even though I had given Donna (the person I talked to on the phone) very specific instructions on how to get to the venue to pass on to the drivers. It was very lucky that my brother has one of those new I-​phones that have gps capability so he could guide the vans to the correct address on time.
The major problem with this company is that they try to rip you off. They charged me on my credit card twice for the same service. When I called to have the charge removed it turned into a month-​long ordeal that still has not been resolved. I call every day to complain, and when Donna does pick up she swears to me that she is putting a refund cheque in the mail for me that day, but the cheque has never come. I am going to have to dispute the charge through my credit card company, which is pretty disappointing. Save yourself the hassle and go with a different company.

Do not use Angel Express Shuttle! I used them in March 2008 and paid with my credit card. They charged my card the $ 59, then again for the same amount the following month. They charged it again about 1 year later. When I called to inquire about it, they said that their office manager (Susan) would be in later that day and she would call me at that time. I left the same message for 7 straight days. When I finally said that I was going to get in touch with the CA Public Utilities Commission, they put the owner (Mo) on the phone. He said that he would refund all 3 charges immediately. It’s been over a week and still no refund.
The day after my conversation with Mo, I started getting many different charges on my card, co-​insidence? I don’t know, but fraudulent activity had my card terminated. My credit card company had to mail me a new card, not to mention all of the paperwork associated with all of the fraudulent charges.
I can’t confirm that Angel Express had anything to do with my credit card fraud, but they definetaly charged my card multiple times and never credited anything back to me. If you do use these guys, PAY CASH!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.
I booked the shuttle for 8:30am to pick me up with my 18-​month-​old and my mom. They called me at 8:31am to ask where I was. I told them I was in the elevator and would be out in 1 minute. When I got outside with the hotel bellman, the shuttle were nowhere to be seen. I frantically looked for them with the help of the bellman, and called the driver and the company 10 total times over the next 15 minutes and was directed to voice mail every time. At 8:45am I decided I’d better take a taxi because they were a no show. At 9:00am, the driver called me and asked where I was. I told her I had to take a taxi because she was not at my hotel. She told me she was in a limo and maybe that is why I did not see her. If the bellman and I could not find her for 15 minutes, and she could not spot me with my 18-​month-​old and her grandma waiting out there all that time, then I don’t know what I was expected to do. I was charged $ 70 (the full fare to the airport) even after I contacted the shuttle company to tell them what had happened and asked them not to charge my card. I had to dispute the charge with my card company. This was a total nightmare. Pick a shuttle company that your hotel recommends, that way you know that they will show up.

I’m wondering whats up with the bad experiences people are mentioning. My driver was sweet, showed up at the airport within 30 seconds of my call and didn’t charge me extra for an after hours pick up. They got me home safely after a long trip & the prices were the cheapest I could find from San Leandro to Oakland.
I did get the feeling that it was a family owned small company. That might explain getting a child on the phone.

1. Horrible customer service, I needed a receipt for my trip to get reimbursed, and I had to call back CONTINUOUSLY for 6 days in a row in order to get them to do it. Everytime they said they would, and they NEVER did. I don’t know how shoddily they run their business, but its absolutely horrible – one time a CHILD picked up the phone.
2. To make it all worse, I checked my credit card statement the other day (good thing) and they had recently (6 weeks after my trip) decided to CHARGE ME AGAIN for my whole trip, tip and everything. Now I have to keep calling them again everyday, keep dealing with their «okay we’ll call you back to take care of this» bullshit, and they STILL have not removed the charge. I’m *this* close to just getting my bank involved and screwing them hard.

Do not use Angel Express Shuttle!
I took one trip with them (they showed up at the wrong address). Then they kept my credit card number on file and charged me two more times. So far they have STOLEN $ 138 from me. After 3 phone calls they said they would refund my credit card, but it hasn’t happened yet. If you do use this company make sure to check your credit card bills very carefully for a few months after.

I booked a luxury sedan for our return trip from Oakland Airport to Central Fremont. Quoted me a specific price that confirmed the price that they had posted on their website.
Driver did not meet us in the baggage claim like other companies do, and when I called the dispatcher she informed me that they were making a change and sending a shuttle instead because the sedan was too far away. I gotta pull out the bullcrap card on this bullcrap. What is the point in reserving a specific vehicle if they will decide for you what vehicle they pick you up in.
Then they made us walk out to the door-​to-​door island and made us wait ½ hour before picking us up in a filthy van that had not been vacuumed in ages. When the driver opened the door for us, empty Jarritos bottles rolled out into the street. WTF?!
When we finally got home, I called the office to ask for a discount for them not delivering what was reserved and the dispatcher tried to tell me that we only had to wait 10 minutes for the driver to pick us up and they did not promise us a sedan. Then she tried to make us pay $ 10 more than our quote for a vehicle that they didn’t even pick us up in. Bullshiz!
Don’t use these guys, they are very unprofessional and are insanely incompetent. Spend the extra $ 5 bucks for a better company.

Made a reservation online for an early morning flight, about a week ahead of time, and never received any confirmation. Thought that was strange, so I called only to be told that they «never received my reservation» and had no space to accomodate me. Very unapologetic, and had me scrambling to make a different reservation at the last minute. Boo. Don’t make reservations online with these folks!

They promise «guaranteed heavenly service», and that’s what you’ll get. Driver was courteous and arrived 15 minutes early. We forgot one bag in the shuttle. The driver came into the airport, found us in line, and gave it to us. The price is also very reasonable.
Also, they provide car seats for children for free if you request them.
