My veterinarians suggested Costco for my critters’ prescriptions and I couldn’t be more enthused about their customer service and pricing. The Pharmacist is always accommodating and the staffs are great with the exception(as mentioned below) about some of the cranky cashiers. I am keeping the rating at 5 stars because the regular staffs are absolutely super. Some of my prescriptions require pre-ordering and the staffs are consistently on top of communicating when my prescriptions arrive. Go Costco Pharmacy in San Leandro!

I need Costco Pharmacy because their prices can be way lower, but they’re closed on Sunday, my only day off. And, they almost never have my medication in stock, and ordering it adds another couple of days and a second trip. The staff is pleasant enough, but that doesn’t make it any easier. If the RiteAid near my house could match the Costco prices, I’d jump ship.

Seriously poor customer service. I thought it was just bad because it was the first time and we weren’t in the system but after 3 tries I’m done. Two of those times I had to come back because they got something wrong or didn’t fill all the prescriptions. They have people working there who are basically just reassigned checkers. So far I’m losing all the money I’m saving in paying for gas just to keep driving back and forth.

The only reason why I’m giving this pharmacy a one star is because I have to in order to leave a review. First of all, I usually get my prescriptions filled at Danville store. I’ve NEVER had a problem with the DANVILLE pharmacy. I moved closer to the SL store, so it makes sense I go somewhere closer. To save on time and hassle, my doctor writes me 3 months worth of postdated prescriptions. And besides, it’s a controlled substance and it’s has be ordered which takes3 days to come in. So it works like this, when the time is near and I’m running out of medication, I drop the prescription off a few days in advance so they can order it and have it ready for pick up. Simple right?! No ONE problem in doing this at the Danville location. NOTTT, with this l*** a** pharmacist in SL. I should have learned from last months f*** up, but NOOoo, I had to go and do it again. Back to the doctor again and now I have to wait another 3 days. First sign things were going south quick was when the gal behind the counter who is supposed to take the prescriptions was busy fielding phone calls and multi-tasking at the same time. While I stood there patiently waiting apx 10 mins as she looked at me with an annoyed expression! Enough said, won’t be going back there again, and I highly advise you don’t either.

I had a day to simmer down before writing a scathing review here. I was really hating them yesterday. It wasn’t until yesterday did I realize how inefficient and inadequate the pharmacy is. Two big problems I have identified:(1) Lack of communication. You won’t know when there are problems with your prescription. When I called to ask whether my doctor’s office had sent the order over, they said it’s ready. BUT when I got there for pickup, that’s when they notified me they were OUT of the meds… which leads to(2) Mismanagement from insufficient inventory! What if it’s life or death? How are you not properly stocked as a functional pharmacy??? WHY didn’t they call me in the first place when they encountered problems? I know they have phones. Why waste a trip there for NOTHING? They don’t pay attention to details here. You’ll wind up having to wait to rectify it but then you’re left disappointed with their ridiculous reasoning. Like how mail order allows you to have 3 refills at a time but NOT their pharmacy because it’s cheaper for mail orders? Then, it was the insurance that won’t allow me to have refills for each prescription. But how can mail orders send out 3 at a time? WHAT? I think next time I’ll go to another pharmacy. At least Walmart’s won’t hesitate to phone you when problems arise. You’ll just have to deal with the weirdos.

One of my mom’s prescriptions is not covered by her insurance and we have it filled at Costco because the cost was significantly lower compared to Walgreens and CVS. Though it might be a little inconvenient, I time the prescription pickup with a shopping trip at Costco. The staff are mostly friendly, except for one cashier that needs to warm-up a bit. For those that don’t know, you don’t have to be a Costco member to have prescriptions filled at the pharmacy or munch away in their food court.

One star for good prices, but the service here is terrible! People working at the register are not communicative and I had no idea what was going on with my prescription! Long story short, I ended up waiting for over 2 hours without any explanation or apology!

I get meds from my physician every month and I used to have my rx’s filled at Walgreens for convenience of hours. However, I learned that price trumps convenience hours, and if planned properly, I can save $$ by taking advantage of the lower copay at Costco. Ok, so early on I had a little problem with the clerical staff, but after a friendly discussion with the pharmacist, Rahat, we have a brilliant business relationship. If my medication is not in stock, it’s only a matter of a day or so to fulfill. Kudos to the other pharmacist, Roger, as well. They seem to work hard to ensure accuracy, provide information and give customer satisfaction. Call to check first if your insurance is accepted, and if any copayment will be necessary. I find that the more common drugs, antibiotics and maintenance, are very reasonable. The only problem is parking, but that’s nature of the beast for Costco. Oh yeah, option for generic.

Not a bad deal. You can drop off your rx’s and go shopping. Well that’s the plan right? You go there supposedly to save money but you end up getting to spend more money with other items. There are so so many things to do there. I’m like a kid with candy., A pocket full of cash and all that I’m really craving is a Hot Dog.(Makes sense huh) I don’t get my scripts there but did it for my baby brother Joey. He has down syndrome and his coverage is anywhere but Kaiser. They filled his scrips while we went shopping too. The staff there is pretty darn cool. They treated Joey like royalty and makes him laugh which to me is golden in my eyes. After we spent time goofing around we had a hot dog and a pizza to go … Totally winner in my eyes

got my meds here for my recent spinal column surgery. instead of the prescribed vallium and? , i went for the generics(diazepam, $ 2.63 vs? and endocet 10.00 vs ?. the pharmacist asked if i wanted generics and i’m glad she asked. it seem like a pretty good deal. when the pain hits, i pop a pill or two and i’m out for hours. sideeffect: valium/diazepam causes constipation.
