Hair No 1

minne was wonderful gave me the sharp new look I was wanting for my new college year. Took her time and listened to my needs. Delivered as promised not like the chop shop in and out places I’ve been in the past, and at a great price. Highly recommend.

I’ve been going here for years now, but i heard Anna’s not working here anymore. So i tried the new lady that replaced her. I was very disappointed with the cut that she did. And the big thing that surprised me was the price was really expensive, the lady just cut my hair 1 – 2 inches just to remove the split ends, no wash nor straight iron, Just plain cut and blow dry. And they charged me $ 25.50 because they said my hair was long, which by the way was only shoulder length & for using ccard. Def not going back. I miss the old hair no. 1.

I have been coming here for over 5 years now. This is The only place that I can get the right color and the most recent haircut style. My stylist is Minnie, she truly amazing. She always listen to what I want and what looks good on me and as a stylist that’s very important to listen to your client, and she never fails to do so. Minnie has done color, highlights, low light, even peek a boo color on me and not to mention she’s done an amazing a line cut on me and more. This place is amazing and did I mention it’s very very affordable. I can’t imagine to go else where but here. Thanks Minnie you truly are my hair doctor

Minnie has been cutting my hair for over a year now. I discovered her at Claremont Hair Salon and haven’t looked back — I love her so much that I’m commuting all the way to San Leandro to have her cut my hair.
About the haircut — I get more compliments about my haircuts than I’ve ever had in my life. At least once a day (within the first 2 weeks) somebody will ask me — «who did your hair, and where are they located?» She takes her time to get the fade just right on both sides. She knows how to layer my hair and take off the weight. She’s a perfectionist and won’t stop cutting until it’s right. I showed her a picture a year ago of the look I wanted and now I have that. I have complete trust in her that I literally sit back and let her do what she wants.
About Minnie — she’s cool, she’s hip, she’s artistic, she’s sweet and honest. I always leave feeling better than I arrived, not just because of the cut, but because her personality is just enjoyable to be around.
The price is incredible too — I was paying close to $ 50 for a cut in SF that wasn’t even close to as good. She’s less than ¹⁄₃ of that price and in my opinion could be charging way more if people knew where to find her.

I’m pretty easy going when it comes to getting my hair done a certain wAy. I’ve been to many salons and still have not found one that I have been loyal to. I guess it true you get what you pay for. This is your typical cheap Asian hair salons who cuts everyone’s hair the same way. I’ve been to many before and they have not messed up my usual long hair layers as badly as this woman did. I wanted a simple one color dye and a trim. You don’t have a be a color specialist or anything to dye someone’s hair I thought. Boy was I wrong! I wanted a medium ash brown as I had pointed out to her and after an hr my hair turned out more like a dark brown! I asked her why my hair was darker than I wanted and she started making excuses like its the lighting in here and that she actually gave me one or two degrees lighter than what I wanted which was total BS. I know what ash brown looks like and this was almost black. What’s worse is what she charged me for a trim (shorter than I asked for) and color. I could have gone to better salon and paid the same for what she charged me and I would have been happier. I’m so disappointed and would NEVER come back.

I was the first time. The lady work there don’t seem to happy. But I generally don’t care about customer service, as long I receive what I pay for I am happy.

Ava is amazing. She cares about her customers and has great prices. She definitely knows her business!

My family’s known the owner, Eva, here for years and she’s done consistently excellent work as far as I can remember. Even now, I still go to her for my haircuts whenever possible. The price is pretty fantastic at $ 12 for a basic cut and I leave a happy camper every time.

This was the best expierience i have ever had at any hair salon! This place seems like a little hole in the wall but be sure not to judge a book by its cover. Very friendly staff & very attentive to your needs. I got my hair done somewhere else and it was completely jacked up! The layers were uneven everywhere, it was such a ugly choppy look. I live down the street so i decided to stop by to see if anyone could save my hair and try to fix it or make it somewhat decent again. Anna was the one to help me and wow she did such an amazing job. She took her time, did NOT rush. She made my hair more than decent! She kept the length long while being able to fix my already short uneven layers. I have never been this impressed with any hair salon or stylist before, anna is a very polite young lady. She did more than an outstanding job! I will forsure be comming back again and recommending everyone i know! Thanks again anna! You brought my confidence back!

We went on a Sunday and there was a little wait; she however was so great at cutting our 2-​year old son’s super curly and tangly hair. They have plenty of toys to play with while we waited and his hair cut is superb. We highly recommend the place and will be returning most likely in just a few months (at the rate my son’s hair is growing).

Always a good cut for me and the family and you cant beat the prices. They are really good with kids too.

Came in and made a big mistake of my healthy hair! Wanted a spiral perm to give my hair some body big mistake! Came out no where near a spiral bottom part didn’t even curl or anything… ugh why oh why! I don’t know the name of the lady beside she’s pretty much going bald. She chopped of my hair way too much yet didn’t even do my perm right! I guess you get what you pay for right… terrible

Got my haircut here a few times. Eva is the owner here and is a very nice lady. I’m the type of guy who just wants a quick trim and not really into getting some kind of fancy complicated haircut. So when I go here I tell her what kind of cut I want and she does it really quick and to the point without any mistakes. She also makes sure what I want and asks me what kind of fade or taper I want in the sideburns or back. It doesn’t seem to get very busy here but try to call ahead of time for an appointment or to check if she has any time. $ 12 for mens haircut isn’t bad either. Recommended!

If you live anywhere near Washington Manor, or San leandro at all and want a decent cut, at a good price this little jewel of a shop is just the ticket.

Get your hair done by Eva! I always come here to get my hair cut and coloring done! She is very nice and patient and takes her time with you. I’ve been getting my hair done here for over 20 years and I still receive excellent service from her. I never feel rushed at all. I even get my hair done here for special occasions and Eva always get what I want perfectly! I definitely recommend getting your hair done by Eva. Even my friends love her and they always come back to get their hair done here. Great prices too!

Minnie is amazing! She has such a cute funky style… very hip chick. I have long hair… and VERY protective of my locks. I was desperately in need of a good haircut. (It had been over a year… I know bad. right??) Anyways… Minnie did an amazing job! She really took her time which eased my nervousness. Needless to say… she will now be my go to fixer upper! I love my long layers and how she styled and straightened my hair. I think the only thing I was shocked about was what she charged me. Less than $ 25! That’s including the tip!

Eva at Hair #1 is wonderful. She’s been cutting my hair for over 10 years now. And she only charges $ 11 for a men’s hair cut!
