Kidsland – San Leandro

My husband and I did a lot of research on in-​home child day care and when we found this place, the moment we walked in, we knew this was the one! Our son started at Kidsland when he was 3 months old and has been there for over a year now. His first word was in Spanish and the fact that he is bilingual at such an early age is amazing. Lety (and her assistants) are so wonderful and sometimes my son doesn’t even want to go home he’s having such a great time!!!

I affectionately refer to Letti (Kidsland’s owner) as The Child-​Whisperer. She has been caring for my godkids since they were infants. At 3 and almost 5, respectively, both children are speaking in complete sentences in English and Spanish. The 5 year old can do double-​digit addition and sound out the spelling of words with surprising accuracy. Don’t get me wrong; my godkids are wicked-​smart, but a lot of the credit has to go to Letti.
Kidsland provides a stable, nurturing environment for children and their families. More than just childcare: the children are taught the importance of working through their problems, considering the feelings of others, sharing, and being good friends.
The structure of daily activities there has done a wonderful job of preparing the oldest for Kindergarten in the fall. Both children have formed constructive social bonds with the other kids at Kidsland, and the families and extended families are tight-​knit and supportive of all the kids. From daily projects to swim lessons, Kidsland focuses on giving the kids a sense of accomplishment. This focus has been such a boon to their self esteem and ability to focus.
I can’t recommend Kidsland highly enough. I truly believe has provided my godkids a start that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
