Best oil change ever. Owner is very hands on. Great customer waiting area clean and tons of updated magazines. I highly recommend this business and will definitely be back.

Wonderful place! Very friendly folks from the moment I walked in until I left. Clean and cozy atmosphere in the waiting room with coffee, lots of magazines, decorations, and outside plants. The disco ball in the service area was a fun touch I walked in at 7:30 am without an appointment and was out by 8:00 am. When I got back in my car I noticed the inside of my car had been vacuumed and the outside of the windows cleaned! That is a nice touch not often seen anymore.

Friendly and helpful! I always take my car here for oil changes (get coupon online). The owner is awesome. They’re also super reasonable if you need repairs or to have anything checked out.

Everyone looks for an honest service repair business I found that place in Midas Muffler San Leandro.
I thought I needed a new flex pipe on my muffler and the service person Lazaro said there was not a problem with my flex pipe. My muffler had become unhinged from the hooks. He hooked the muffler, with a smile and no charge.
I really appreciated what he did. Service with a smile and explanation !

In March, I had gotten about $ 600 worth of work done on my car. Nearly 3 months later, out of the blue, my car shut down on me while entering the Bay Bridge in 5 o’clock traffic. It was a terrifying experience. And what made it worst, was that my roadside assistance did not arrive until 6 hours later!
Because I had no way to tow my car into midas, I had another mechanic look at it. He soon determined that a new part Midas installed in my car is now the cause of all this trouble. I remembered the 90 day warranty they guaranteed on all their work and took my car in 1^st thing Monday morning.
When I told Paul (the owner) about my situation, he clearly displayed a nasty attitude that I had never seen before. He even gave a rude answer when I asked if there was only 1 worker in! I knew right then and there that it was highly unlikely that they were going to honor my warranty. He was upset that I brought my car to another mechanic, like I disobeyed some unspoken rule.
I was told to come back the next day and that is when Laz told me that my warranty is void because I let someone else work on my car. And refused to provide me a copy of their warranty statement. I did not know this because it wasnt stated in the warranty. They Obviously made it up!
I found out they got their parts from oriellys so I researched oriellys policy on defective parts and learned that they offer a 1 year warranty. I obtained the receipt info from midas and brought the part back to oriellys to be tested. It failed significantly and was determined to be defective. They gave me a new part for FREE without hassle and I had another mechanic put it in my car.
(TLDR)
So basically Midas just lost a lifetime customer for $ 40 worth of labor! REALLY Paul? To honor their warranty, all they had to do was exchange the defective part for a FREE one (which I easily did myself) and to redo the $ 40 worth of labor. They are truly ignorant! There were also no other cars there at the time and my work could have easily been over in 30 minutes. BUT they would rather argue and make up reasons to void a warranty than to redo the work. Bad for business!

I had a really good experience so I was compelled to write a review when i got home.
I have to admit the numerous negative reviews on this place several months ago turned me away from here. But I decided to see on Unilocal if anything had gotten better and it looks like it has. So I decided to give this place a chance.
Arrived here a little after opening like around 7:45am and it wasn’t busy at all. I was approached by one of the staff named «Laqano/​Largaza?» (it was really hard for me to read the name on his shirt), and he was courteous and polite. Told him I needed an oil change. He took my car keys and I walked to the conveniently located Starbucks two blocks away.
Came back and sat in the lobby and that’s when I noticed how nice the interior was. There was a wall of glass between the lobby and the work area so you can see the mechanics at work. The lobby had a pot of coffee ready, lots of reading material stacked neatly, some plants and interesting decorations to make the lobby welcoming and somewhat relaxing. It was impressively nice, clean, and neat. I love the free WiFi you can access while waiting.
My oil change came with the free complimentary tire pressure check and refill and windshield cleaning service. What I love is the free floorboard vacuum cleaning service! It was awesome! The total time for service was more or less 30 – 40 minutes. My online coupon was honored and my total cost for a basic oil change plus tax was about 30 bucks!

Arrived around 9am on a Tuesday and was quoted a 1.5 hour time frame but was finished within 1 hour but my coupon was for a 17 point inspection and a tire rotation and oil change but when I asked about a tire rotation he said the best tires belong in the back and he asked if I needed it but that’s a question I pay them to answer. So they didn’t do a rotation because I supposedly didn’t need it. Then I didn’t get any paperwork on an inspection so I wonder if it was even done. They had a lot of cars this morning so I wonder if they just did the oil change only and skipped the tire rotation and inspection. Based on this experience I will probably not be back.
Not getting any paperwork for an inspection and not getting my tires rotated because he said I didn’t need it when really they probably didn’t check is very concerning. I would try another oil change shop if another one is near you.

Very fast on a Saturday afternoon – i was shocked! In and out for an oil change and got my belt tightened in 20 mins. Spent the time waiting at the Starbucks down the block. Before I knew it, my car was ready! I’ll be coming back here again whenever I need my car worked on.

Nice people, cool cat, great service, serene waiting area, lots of magazines, clean bathroom, good coffee and they vacuumed my car! I will be back.

Friendly staff — quick and honest service from the techs. No complaints whatsoever. Will use them for my regular oil changes in the future.

I went in for an oil change today. They did it in less than 30 minutes and I was so pleasantly surprised that they had cleaned my car. They organized my junk, and vacuumed and wiped down the entire inside of the car. They totally didn’t have to do that. It was so nice of them and it absolutely made my day. The oil change and fluid check was cheaper than I’ve ever paid anywhere else. So glad I decided to go to this Midas.

What a great place. I don’t write a lot of reviews especially for an oil change place but this place was special. The owner Paul was a great host and was very hospitable. The coffee, music and vibe almost made forget that I was getting an oil change. Very cool experience and I will definitely be back.

Wow! This place is positively awesome! I had a great experience here getting the oil changed in my car! First off as I am walking up to the auto shop’s office I’m greeted very kindly and helped immediately. I am told that there is tea in the waiting area and they’d be done with my car in a jiffy. My oil change was very quick and they were even kind enough to vacuum and tidy my car! The price was really great too for all the awesome stuff they did! I was going to go to wheel works which would have come out to 37 after tax. But this place was 29.99 and I happened to have a 5 dollar off coupon. They did an awesome job and I don’t have to come back for another 5000 miles! Awesome, speedy service at a great price!

I was very pleased with my experience at this location. I went in for an oil change and they threw in the tire rotation I desperately needed for free. I pointed this out, and they still let me have the free service. I also was pleased to find a clean windsheild and completely vaccuumed car, two things that usually aren’t thrown in where I am used to going.
I will be back. Say hi to Chewie the cat!

I’ve used and liked Midas for years, in both Phoenix and the Bay Area. Thought I was booking a web appt with my old Foothill Midas; called to find out from owner Paul Gamble it was the E 14^th location — old one was closed! I’d been in auto service management myself, decades ago. I knew my struts were shot. Was SURE I had front bearing problems.
Midas gave me a ride home, replaced my struts, and found my bearings were still perfect. I appreciate this honesty as I’d have authorized new bearings without a second thought, and they knew it. Free alignment when struts are replaced. The car ride was better and quieter than before, but they reported rear tires were cupping! I figured they had 70K miles on them. New set of Michelins all around, my «bearing» howl disappeared, and the car rides like new! I was completely delighted with Paul’s shop, his mechanics AND service. I’ll be back!

Please note my review is for Service, not the Oil Change Service (Oil change reviews are considerably better for this shop) as those are two different tasks.
First, off let me warn you, this Midas does not do very good service at all, so bad that it is a danger to motorist. I work on cars but did not have time to work on my this one as it was urgent. Read further if that is not enough to dissuade you from this shop.
I brought my car in for brake and alignment check, and to inspect a grinding sound from the steering. It should have been a routine check, and it was. They spotted potential areas of problems. Ok, that’s good so far, no. It gets worse when they start actually working on it.
Brake check, pretty easy, alignment pretty easy. However they did not align my wheels properly. They rotated the tires the wrong way. This car is NOT a front wheel drive. It is an AWD but a Forward Cross was done *smh*.
Shop recommended a Steering box fix, new tires and a CV Joint Sleeve fix. I saw that coming so no problem.
Did they do it right? NO! When they changed the CV joint sleeve they did not clean up the grease, I found a lot of grease on the exhaust which is very dangerous as it can burn and catch on fire. The grease later spread and caused a lot of smoking and bad smell.
Four hours after getting my car back, the power steering went out and all lights on the panel flashed. The serpentine belt was shredded, I have never seen anything like it. So brought it back to the shop immediately. WTH did they do. They called me later that morning and said I needed a new tensioner and idler and quoted me 400 $. I told them I would call back to authorize it after speaking to my wife. Decided NOT to let them do anymore work on it, so when I called them (Paul) back they said they already did it? I was furious, I said I never gave you the OK. Im getting my car back. Paul, tried to tell me I needed to pay 300 $ for the work at least. I said NO, I never authorized it so. Paul was furious and just yelled at me to just come get the car! FYI Serpentine belts do NOT just shred themselves like that when it only has 30,000 miles on it. Coincidence, do not think so.
I got the car back, and learned that they lied. They never did anything the parts were exactly where they had been when I brought em in. I bought a pully and idler myself and replaced it myself, only cost me 89 $ and runs beautifully now.
Lesson for me, I’ll FIND the time to work on my cars, this was a costly mistake, All in all I lost about $ 880 to Midas for crappy work. Reported to BBB as well.

Fast service good price, I use coupon for oil change and has a free tire rotation but they never do it because «they don’t have space available to lift car» has happen to me 3 times not going there anymore

I received such a good first experience here thanks to Paul! He was warm and welcoming, and I could tell he tries to make every customer feel comfortable. He complimented me on my matching shoes and Harvard sweatshirt lol
They also vacuumed the inside of the car, and cleaned the windows.
