Near West Cabinets

Could not be happier with Evan from Near West. Did an amazing job on our kitchen renovation for our home.
We began by working with an architect named Ethan and his firm Drafting Café. He did kitchen drawings for us to get us through the Piedmont permit process. Phenomenal job from start to finish.
Ethan informed us that his brother Evan was a cabinet maker and that he would add in elevations and a more detailed kitchen design so that Evan could do an estimate for us. His estimates came in at or below two other bids — we figured that this super-​skilled «brother» team was the way to go and contracted with Near West.
What an awesome decision. Evan answered all of our questions on design in a professional and timely fashion. Very responsive over email, which with our busy schedules was key. He uses computers and the latest software for design, no old fashioned pencil drawings.
Our cabinets were built and delivered exactly on the day he promised. We now have a beautiful modern kitchen, with high gloss white cabinets and a matching reading bench/​nook. The island is walnut with a 9 foot quartz countertop and seating for 5.
As a super bonus, Evan saved the day and fit in a custom vanity for our guest bathroom on an extremely tight timeline (A grumpy different cabinet maker we had mistakenly signed for our bathrooms deserted us half way through their part — Unilocal review to come…:). Evan’s hanging walnut bathroom vanity also looks amazing, perfectly matching the 3D-​rendering he designed.
Could go on and on. I can’t imagine a better decision than to go with Drafting Café and Near West Cabinets for any residential renovation project. I will post some pictures once the renovation is complete.

I hired Evan Andersen as part of my remodeling team after seeing Evan’s work at another home. Evan built custom cabinets for our European style kitchen and three bathrooms in a high-​end remodel in Pacific Heights in San Francisco. His estimates were reasonable for the high quality of the work and all of his delivery timing commitments were met.
Evan has been super professional throughout the process from planning to execution and final adjustments. Evan worked very well with the Architecht, the General Contractor and other suppliers such as the counter tops supplier. Most importantly, Evan listened to what we wanted and proposed the designs, layout, and materials that were appropriate for us.
We are very happy with the quality and esthetics of the resulting cabinets. It will be our pleasure to work with Evan again in the future.
