The hours on the sign in the window say one thing, the hours on Unilocal say another, and I go to their web-​site and there are NO hours shown at all. Even the hours shown on my google search show something different!
I got there at 7:20pm on Friday but the sign in window says open till 7:30pm. Its dark, empty and the gate is locked up so it has been closed for a while. So I go home and check on Unilocal and it says it will be open till 7pm Monday to Saturday (and open less hours on Sunday). Okay I guess those are the hours. I rush in on my lunch break get there at 6:30pm, SAME THING HAPPENS. Dark, empty, closed for a while.
Do they just close whenever they feel like?
Each time I visited, I figure I’m going to drop off my phone make a deposit. Later pay a small fortune for the repair of my android that everyone is telling me, «Just buy a new phone, why pay so much to fix it?» I check around it will be about $ 250, and I’m okay with that. I even went to another repair place and they referred me to Phone Geeks.
They seem like a legit place to get my phone fixed but I’m having too much trouble with them already, so I am going somewhere else.
But seriously… making someone in customer service miss their lunch? I am PISSED.

So bummed! Really loved the people working here, but have had a terrible experience! I decided to head to Hayward/​San Leandro for the repair, since it seemed like the price was worth the drive (I live in Oakland). I have an iPhone 6 and I’d cracked the screen. I went to have it repaired (opted for the new, factory-​sealed replacement glass) and took my phone home an hour later. Within an hour of getting home, one side of my screen was dark and the bottom half of my screen kept flashing, and then the battery drained almost immediately after being fully charged.
I returned the next day, and the folks working there were very lovely; they replaced my screen in about twenty minutes. However, I got home and realized that the phone doesn’t work! I can’t hear calls — it sounds like whoever’s on the other end of the line is a million miles away.
Now I have to return for a third time, and am not confident the phone will work afterwards. I’ve been trying to call for the past hour to get a hold of someone, and the line has been busy the whole time! Very disappointed. Not worth the $ 15 I ‘saved’ to get the repair done more cheaply.

I was VERY disappointed with the «service» that I received from Mike on ½/​16 and I would not recommend ANYONE to go to Phonegeeks.
After reading reviews, I went to Phonegeeks to get my cracked screen repaired on 12÷30÷15. My first experience was very positive overall — they were running a bit behind and forgot to mention that they accepted cash only. To make up for any inconvenience, the salesman, Mike offered me a free screen protector or phone case — I decided to get both of them, as he repeatedly claimed that having the combination of both the case & screen protector would ensure much better protection for my phone.
On the next day (¹²⁄₃₁) I noticed that my screen looked a bit cloudy and I assumed that it was the screen protector. When I lifted it, I saw that the display itself was cloudy, but returned to clarity once I restarted the phone. The next day, on the afternoon of 1÷1÷16, my phone dropped out of my front jacket pocket and landed onto the wood floor at my home. Because the drop was only about 3 feet and there was a soft landing, I didn’t give it a second thought — I was shocked to see that BOTH the screen AND the screen protector had a large crack in it!
My receipt indicated a 7 day warranty, so I attempted to contact Phonegeeks as soon as they opened at 10 am. I called numerous times on ½/​16, but got no answer so I stopped by after 11. My intention was to either use my warranty to upgrade from the Refurbished screen that I purchased to an OEM Apple screen or to get a refund. When I arrived and explained the situation to the salesperson Mike, his response was completely different than the customer service experience of just 2 days before:
Mike explained that they would not honor the warranty and that I would have to pay full price to have the screen repaired/​replaced. He was very rude and dismissive, interrupting me several times, and was unable to tell me the difference between the 3 screen options that they had for my iPhone 5s (Apple, High Quality & Refurbished — which I had purchased). I remained professional and respectful through our interaction, but I began to get upset when he blamed me and told me to, «take responsibility as a man» and «what do you want me to do bruh?» At that point, I advised him to provide better customer service and I asked for both his name and his manager’s name, to which he responded, «everyone here is named Mike.» When I asked for the manager’s phone number, he responded «I can’t give out his personal information but if you leave your phone number, I can have him call you.»

Since the sales associate was unable to provide your contact information, I hope that you will read and respond to this review. What I attempted to explain to Mike was that the screen that I purchased from your store (along with the screen protector and case) did not provide the protection that he suggested that it would. When a minor drop caused BOTH the screen protector AND the screen to shatter (despite the phone case), I am led to believe that the product (s) that I purchased were defective. I called around to multiple similar mobile phone repair shops, and they agreed that it was highly unusual for my encased cell phone with a screen protector to crack in the manner that it did, within just 2 days of purchase. I was also told that you may want to consider contacting your screen sales rep/​supplier to explain that a customer purchased a product that may have been defective. Based off of the multiple reviews on this site, I’m sure that your company usually provides better customer service than I received and I eagerly anticipate that you will properly & promptly address my concerns. Thank you.

They ended up being dishonest about what I needed done.
So to begin with, I walked in there because I needed my phone repaired. I needed a new screen because my friend dropped it and the screen has just went completely blank. I had 2 options, I believe. 1 was to get the cheap screen for $ 65 and the other was for a brand new one for like $ 90 or something. So I told them I just wanted the $ 65 one because I didn’t plan on having my phone for too long. I got a receipt for exactly what I wanted. Gave them my phone number so they can call me when it’ll be done. They said it’ll take up to an hour to do it so I said okay.
I waited a little over an hour, and just waited a little longer just because I thought they’d call my friends phone that it took a while but it’s done. No. I walked in there and it looked as if it’s been done since I dropped it off. Never called me to tell me it was done. Which has made it worse, I expected to pay the $ 65 or something right, NO, I was being charged $ 90 for a brand new screen. It was not completely what I wanted! The dude tried to make me feel better about it by giving me a glass screen protector and a case. Also, overtime this screen f***ing sucks. Can barely here anyone on the phone anymore, and it doesn’t even lock the screen when you are on the phone.
I know some of you may think I sound a little cheap for this issue, but the point is that I just needed a temporary fix for a couple days as I get a new phone.
That is NOT the way customer service should be. That was just horrible, dishonest, and disrespectful. If I can give thing this half a star, I would. LOL!

Cracked my iPhone 6 Plus screen and went to Apple. Apple said they could not just change my screen and that i was better off buying a 6s.
Shopped around, because phonegeeks just happened to be closed. Got some crazy prices at other places, especially from some kiosk at Bayfair the guy was charging like 30% more than phonegeeks. Just ended up waiting till phonegeeks opened the following day. Got a quote, got my phone fixed and walked out like I just robbed the darn place, because their prices are Soooooooo cheap. Their workmanship and quality is excellent!

Little backstory of myself, I am very clumsy! Before coming here to fix my screen I have fracked my phone a couple time prior. I use to go to the gorilla fix kiosk at new park for 130 to repair. I came here the other day because I need to fix my phone asap and just went here cause it was the closest. (My phone was a little bent and the screen was non existent) they quoted me for 120 put on a high quality screen and bent my phone back in place. IT LOOKS BRAND NEW!!! They’re cheaper, faster service, and cool people. I will for sure come back if my dumbass cracks my phone again!

This review is for their Boost Mobile service, not repair. I’ve been searching far and wide (literally from the Sacramento Area back to the East Bay) for a BM iPhone 6 because Boost was running an in-​store promotion and my iPhone 5 could barely function any more. NONE of the 10+ places I called had the 6 in stock. Some wanted me to jump through a bazillion hoops and promise them my first born child before they would even order one for me, but not Mike! When I called, he confirmed that he does not currently have an iPhone 6 in the store but could order one for me with $ 50 deposit. Believe it or not, this was the best customer service I’ve received from any BM retailer I’ve contacted. He offered me different options and was honest and upfront about the pricing ($ 300 off the original price) while a place down the street wanted me to pay a deposit, wait for their call about the final pricing, and then come back and pay the full cost of the phone before even ordering it for me. Mike said it would take 3 – 7 days for my phone to come in, knowing I was pressed for time, he said if it didn’t make it before the weekend I could get my money back. Now that’s the type of service everyone should be offering :) it ended up taking 2 weeks to get everything finalized, but overall I’m happy!
FYI, they sell new/​used phones as well as fixed up iPads for pretty good prices.

I usually have such bad luck with my phone and all the baggage that comes with it. PhoneGeeks has got it going on! They are super cool, great at what they do, and real to customers. I spider-​webbed the heck out of my phone and was nervous about handing my phone off, I was mostly worried that something might go wrong internally but I brought it in to these guys and it works as it did before. One of the dudes is also a pro at applying the screen protector. I loved it, it was magic! Anyway, they’ll take care of you!

Love these guys! I’m a great customer /​repeat offender — second broke-​ass phone in as many months — so they gave me a free case and screen protector! Phone was as good as new in half an hour for under a hundred bucks. Mike is a character too: while I was waiting in the store, another guy came in looking for his phone, which led to the following exchange.
GUY: Where my phone?
MIKE: You left it here two months ago.
GUY: You sell it?
MIKE: Nah, I could have, but I wouldn’t. You in jail?
GUY: No! Maybe.
Still love the East Bay, and places like Phone Geeks are the reason why.

Came here on a Friday evening, and it wasn’t busy at all. I got my cracked iPhone 5s screen repaired for $ 95, (I wanted the high quality glass) plus a small discount for first timers. I also got free tempered glass for leaving this Unilocal review. The repair was done within 30 – 45 minutes, I left and grabbed something to eat, and it was done when I came back. Would definitely recommend this place for screen repairs, you probably won’t find anywhere cheaper. My phone feels like it’s brand new!

Called so many places to replace the glass screen on my galaxy s5. I was quoted $ 150 – 230. I found phonegeeks and was quoted $ 80. Dropped my phone off, ran some errands and returned to find my phone good as new! Fantastic service and they are very nice. Hopefully I don’t need to go back, but if I break my phone again I will go straight there!
Tip: it’s cash only on pick up.

I called about a broken digitizer (touchscreen wouldn’t detect touches). They quoted the work, then suggested a cheaper alternative that solved the problem for $ 40 less (swap the motherboard to a different phone shell). It’s still my phone, but now with a newer outside, so I got more than my money’s worth.

Mike & Anthony were VERY helpful in cleaning my LCD screen after getting pasta sauce all over it.
It was done within an hour. Fabulous service!

These guys are probably the best deal in town! I called at least five other places before landing here. Everybody that works here is super helpful. They’re pretty fast, but the environment is pretty chill and the time goes fast while you’re waiting.

They fixed my galaxy 6 edge after having it for just a couple of weeks. My silly self dropped it and shattered the screen. Mike and his team were professional and great to work with. I would come back here for any phone repair needs.

The Phone Geeks are great! Fast service and good prices! My 11 year old daughter broke the glass on her iPhone 5s… she was soooo sad because she loves that phone! The Phone Geeks replaced it out in less than an hour — we went to get frozen yogurt and returned to a completed job! My daughter paid for her own repair since she broke her phone. She elected to have original Apple iPhone glass, which cost $ 90, but we had a Unilocal coupon for $ 10 off! Refurbished glass would have been less, like $ 50 or $ 60 or so, but none was in stock. Plus, refurbished glass might have glue marks showing (like a burn mark) in the glass due to not using Apple glue. She didn’t want to take a chance. Call before going to make sure they have what you need in stock. Hopefully, we won’t need another repair, but if you need one, go to the Phone Geeks!

My lil guy scattered the glass in my iPad and we needed a quick fix. Apple and BestBuy were a bust. Went into Phonegeeks after checking Unilocal for iPad repair. Found parking in front and I was greeted with a smile. No wait and fast repair. Dropped it off and hit up target, while shopping got a call that it was ready. In less then a hour. Went by picked it up. The whole process took less than 2 hours and cost $ 90.00. Would definitely recommend them and would definitely go back. Let’s just hope I don’t need to anytime soon.

Came here after breaking my phone screen today (just my luck). My sister told me about this place and it was a lot cheaper than the place in hayward I would go to.
$ 85 for an apple screen or $ 55 for a generic brand for the iPhone 5. Steal! If it breaks again, I’ll be back! (Arnold’s voice) lol
