Seko’s Event Decor

We rented the gold chiavari chairs and gold chargers for our wedding in April. They were absolutely beautiful and enhanced the overall aesthetics of our reception venue. The pricing was the cheapest I’d found– very affordable if you’re looking to rent chairs for your event! Grace corresponded frequently with me via email and was quick to set up the contract and work out the logistics. We’re very happy we hired them!

We rented chiavari chairs from Grace for our wedding day. They arrived on time and were beautiful. We did have a bit of difficulty connecting with each other in early correspondence but once we talked over the phone I felt more at ease. Grace is a professional and can be counted on!

My family has been using Grace’s services since 2009, and since then their services have grown tremendously. She has always gotten back to me in a timely matter. We have rented chair covers, sashes, and chiavari chairs for 5 or 6 events and she and her team have always been on time with everything. Highly recommend!

Yes, she does have the best prices but you get what you pay for. I tried contacting Grace for the past 3 months after my wedding by no response. I finally gave up.
Her failure to return any of my calls/​messages further shows me her work integrity.
If you don’t care or don’t mind risking not getting what you agreed to, then go right ahead.
I am extremely disappointed in what happened the day of my wedding. I should have had my doubts when my sister-​in-​law mentioned she didn’t set up the draping as agreed for her wedding and when she almost forgot to order my table covers until I had to remind her but they sold out of one of the sizes I needed. Nonetheless, I still had high hope she would come through as we agreed.
The day of, I didn’t have a care in the world. It was until after that I started learning things.
For one– the napkins were light pink, not blush/​mauve as we agreed. No, it didn’t make a huge difference to everyone else, but to me it did, because it wasn’t the color it was supposed to be and didn’t flow with everything else. Blush and light pink are a huge difference in the color world and anyone planning an event.
But that was just the cherry on top. I started writing an email to her to express my frustration, but I figured it would be more effective just to share on Unilocal,since this is where I found most of my vendors (besides word of mouth).
This is what I started writing to her:
I am so disappointed in what happened with my backdrop– the one you promised you’d be able to handle and assemble. First of all, I made sure that the hotel would set up YOUR charger plates and napkins Friday night as agreed, so you would have more time to focus on the backdrop and the sashes. Instead, you showed up around 3pm, right after the backdrop fell. I didn’t give the hotel that task and take that off your plate just for you to show up late. You were supposed to be there to make sure your guys put it up correctly, but they obviously didn’t know what they were doing that led the backdrop to fall. Accidents happen, but the way you reacted was completely out of line and unprofessional, and they left knowing that the backdrop was NOT secure. You failed to want to take responsibility for it claiming you «weren’t getting paid for it.» I paid you for the hardware and the labor fees, so what exactly did I not pay for you? The backdrop may not have been yours, but I asked you a million times if you felt comfortable with this and you reassured me it was no problem. The attitude you gave my catering manager is shocking and to know that if they weren’t there, you would’ve probably walked away from my wedding leaving it like that. My catering manager had to practically beg you to clean up the cake marks from the backdrop and you did it with a sour, immature attitude the entire time. And then. instead of calling your guys back to fix it, the hotel and my wedding coordinator’s boyfriend ended up securing the backdrop, something that I did not pay them for. And you didn’t even mention it the next day when I told you the hotel had your stuff to pick up. I wonder why.
My cake guy called me because he wanted to send you the bill for $ 150 for the extra 3 hours it took him to fix my cake, But obviously, if you don’t return my phone calls, how can I expect you to pay a small bill? Luckily, I had a cake, and luckily the backdrop didn’t fall DURING my wedding. I would’ve liked to hear your side of the story or even an apology since everyone else I talked to (my florist, the baker, my wedding coordinator, and the hotel staff) ALL complained about you and the guys you sent to do the job. But the fact you are completely ignoring me shows your guilt and involvement. I honestly wished I didn’t even go through you, but of course there’s no going back. Yes, you have great prices, but I would trade that all to have someone do the job right. The wedding business is a very big industry and when you don’t work from your heart and are not passionate about what you do, it truly shows. It shows, like you mentioned, that you started this business because you knew there was a demand for cheaper rentals, not because you love what you do. You overbook events and are so rushed that you cannot fully put 100% into what you do. Every other vendor I’ve worked with made sure everything came through 100% as promised except you. They know for all brides and grooms, this is the most important day for them and want to contribute to do their best to help make it as perfect as possible. It seems like you simply just don’t care. You just want to get in and out, and move on to the next event. Word of mouth spreads like wildfire and unfortunately bad word of mouth tends to spread a lot more. I may not be able to force anyone not to go with you, but I’ve made sure to spread my experience to my friends and my community so there isn’t another disappointed bride. I for sure, and my family will never contact you again for future events.

I rented gold chargers last minute for my wedding and the owners were so helpful in the entire process! Highly recommend! They’re prompt, decently priced and lovely to work with throughout your stressful wedding schedule. Believe me, you will save money and be happy with the rented items :)

Working with Seko’s Event Décor is always a pleasure! Grace and Joe are so friendly and flexible. They truly do their best to provide the best customer service that they can give! I’ve worked with them on many weddings/​events for my own clients and hired them for my own wedding. I got married last week (9÷26÷15) but reserved the date back in February. Grace was very helpful and had many options for all your needs. I was very happy to know Seko was very punctual! I ordered the gold chavari chairs, uplighting, a glittery table cloth for the sweet heart table and a back drop. Thank you very much for your services! Made my day that much more perfect!!!

ON POINT! I hired Seko’s for chivari chairs, backdrop behind sweetheart table, uplights, and photobooth. The room was extremely ELEGANT and SPECTACULAR. My own mother was impressed by the decorations. Seko’s has one of the best prices around and their photobooth was of high quality. Printed photos are NOT blurry and VERY clear. Wahoo!

I can only say positive things about Seko’s.
They are extremely professional and courteous. I could tell that they have been doing this for a while because everything was set up exactly as requested and on time. Before renting our chairs we asked potential vendors if we could see them: Some refused, and others allowed us to see them but the chairs were too worn out. Not the case with the chairs from Seko’s, they looked amazing. We also rented a cake stand that from them that got a lot of compliments.
In short. We had a great experience working with Seko’s would absolutely use them again.

We used Grace for a handful of items for our wedding. Overall, extremely pleased with her products and services. The chiavari chairs were great, and the price is the most competitive we saw. The backdrop we used was great and received many compliments as well. Would use Grace again, and we actually had used her before for my wife’s bridal shower. Overall, she handles everything and leaves the event stress free.

Loved working with Grace to coordinate my daughter’s 18^th birthday! They provided the Chivari chairs, linens, and draping. Absolutely stunning! Received so many compliments throughout the evening. Delivery staff was efficient and pricing affordable! Definitely a recommend!

Grace was easy to work with from the moment I contacted her a year before my wedding to the day of my wedding. This company is very professional and made my wedding gorgeous with the gold chiavari chairs in the Gold room of the Fairmont SF. My photographer was so impressed with the quality of this vendor. This place does not want your business. Well at least not mine’s. I placed 2 calls and an e-​mail and Grace returned my call to a number I did not instruct her to call me at (must have had caller I.D.). I called back and never heard from her. Horrible business etiquette.

We hired Seko Chair Covers for my wedding on 8÷30÷14. We ordered chair covers with sashes, cake spotlight, draping, and uplights. When I first walked into the ballroom, it took my breath away. Everything looked much better than I had imagined and I was so happy with the way everything turned out.
Service was wonderful — very responsive, reasonable prices, and wonderful products. Thank you Grace and Joe!!!

I used Seko’s for my wedding September 2012. After searching and searching for the best prices for chair covers and sashes, Seko’s was the most reasonable. I had met with Grace (the owner) to pick the colors for my sashes for my chairs-​she was polite and very knowledgeable as to what type of chairs would work best with the chair covers she had to offer. Seko’s (crew) came and set up the chair covers and sashes (I wasn’t there, but hears they were very pleasant). At the last minute I had ordered linen napkins, (which was a blessing as well because at other places they were pricey) the crew even helped with setting the tables, which they weren’t suppose tom but because my crew was pressed for time, they jumped right in and helped! Since my wedding I’ve referred a few people to Seko’s and they were impressed as well. The only reason I’m giving her 4 stars is because I recently referred a friend to her. My friend contacted Seko’s via phone and placed her request online twice as she had been told when she had placed a call to her after she hadn’t been contacted the 1^st time she submitted her request online. I even contacted Grace myself to see if she was still offering services. It’s been a few weeks and my friend still hasn’t heard from her. The services are great, I just wish that she was a little more reliable with contacting people.

It is not easy to find someone to rely on to make your wedding look beautiful especially when you have very specific taste. Fortunately for my husband and me, we found that reliable someone in Grace Seko. It took us some time to stumble upon Seko’s Chair Covers, but boy… we are so glad we did! The Sekos are not only reliable but they are creative, accommodating and extremely reasonable in the world of wedding décor.
With her busy schedule, we were able to meet, contact via phone or e-​mail Grace whenever there were questions or concerns regarding our décor order. She was kind enough to meet with us in person for an initial consultation on our schedule and provide examples through photo books of what the possibilities were. Their mandaps (altars) are beautiful and there are many to choose from. Despite the name, the Sekos have many different items to utilize for our décor. The mandap package was complete with all the fixings — the large chairs for the bride and groom, stools, smaller chairs, havankund (fire pit), entry gate that matches the mandap, aisle runner, backdrop and uplighting in the color of our choice and a lovely Ganesh that graced our foyer entrance. Our wedding looked beautiful, simple and elegant. We received numerous compliments from our family and friends.
In addition to our wedding décor, Grace also worked with us and our florist to coordinate the design of our ballroom for the reception. She was able to utilize the chiavari chairs that we got an amazing deal on from the wedding ceremony and flip the room for the reception. The chairs were an elegant touch to our floor length champagne colored pintuck linens and the flower arrangements from our florist. The room flip was done so effortlessly and made our wedding and reception stand out as two separate events while maintaining a level of elegance that was praised by our guests.
Overall, fantastic work, service and outcomes with Sekos. You can’t go wrong working with this amazing couple and trust me, your event will be beautiful!

I rented chiavari chairs from Seko’s Chair Covers for my wedding in Dec 2012. From the beginning Grace was super helpful and nice. Everything was simple and self explanatory and straight to the point. The day of my wedding about 6 months later, she arrived on time and delivered as expected and packed up right on time. Her prices are amazing and trust me, i went searching the whole web looking for chiavari options. Chiavari chairs are pretty pricey to rent. But well worth it. It made my wedding setting look so much more amazing and beautiful and elegant. Grace is so awesome to work with! I totally recommend renting with her!

Grace is personable, accommodating, and most of all she and her staff are professional.
I shopped all over the bay area but her prices are the best I could find. They work fast, finish way ahead of schedule, and make sure you have nothing to worry about when it comes to doing the job right. I am so glad she decorated my wedding and will definitely use her for all future events. I have already recommended her to several of my friends for their weddings.
Her backdrops, crystals, and lighting gave the wow factor during my wedding! Along with the chair covers and beautiful gold satin sashes, she and her staff quickly transformed the Basque Cultural Center into a truly classy wonder.

I heard about Grace online and worked with her for over a year before my wedding (which occurred this past weekend, May 21, 2011). She is an absolute GEM in the chair cover/​décor industry! She is super friendly, kind, professional, and accommodating to your schedule.
My then-​fiancé and I met with Grace 13 months before our wedding to look at samples. Her chair covers are high quality and beautiful. They looked brand new, and the material is very high quality (no fuzz or fur or lint whatsoever!) She had the matching satin sashes (in navy) to go with our chairs and those too were beautiful. The exact shade we were looking for! She has an extensive color selection, so whatever you’re looking for, I’m sure Grace will have it!
A week before my wedding, I asked Grace for table runners and she was super accommodating and friendly! She even came to our venue to set up early (to make sure that I wasn’t worried). She followed up with our other vendors and even referred a great vendor to do my panels/​lighting!
My wedding turned out beautiful and elegant, thanks to Grace and her decoration skills! I love looking at our wedding photos and the pretty chair covers and table runners. They dded just that special touch of elegance.
