I really don’t understand what all the poor reviews are about! The pizza here is really quite good, definitely on par with Round Table, but the customer service here is MUCH better! The staff here are all so nice!
I usually get Cheese and Pineapple pizza and a side order of groovy twists. Excellent! The pizza sauce is really good, and I love to order extra and save it for the next day.
Definitely try this place out. If you like Round Table, I’m sure you’ll like this as well.

I read all the reviews and have to say I only agree with two.
I gave this Straw Hat Pizza Parlor 4 stars for several reasons:
The First one is — The Pizza is Good
The Second is — The place is clean every time I have gone in.
I even looked this time all around and did not see syringes or urine
maybe the person who Unilocaled this went to another pizza place.
The Third is — The service by the staff is wonderful. They really know
how to treat their costumers.
And in celebration of 50 years at that locations the pizza’s are 50% off.
I would much rather have a pizza from this Straw Hat than Mountain Mikes or Round Table.

Contrary to the other reviewers I am VERY fond of straw hat. I find the place charming and full of character. I have always loved their pizza (not to mention their groovy twists are to die for) and I hardly would compare there tasty pizza to chuck — e– cheese. This straw hat is family run and I have always been served with a smile. Sure the place is a little empty and needs some life, but its my favorite pizza place in San Leandro!

Came here for a 4 year olds birthday party. The pizza was just like that of chucky cheese… Bland. But what kills me was the amount of syringes outside and the smell of someone smoking crack. That’s insane!

Wow! The previous Unilocalers killed this place! I’ve been at least ten times before, and I went tonight and thought the pizza was good. My brother and I hit this place up before most Warriors games.
Tonight the four of us shared a ham and cheese Hot Hat, and then polished off a king sized pepperoni and sausage pie. The Hot Hat is like a calzone or sandwich baked in pizza dough… think a homemade hot pocket. I’m a big fan if their pizzas because of their buttery and flaky crust is different than other chains.
A solid 3.5 star pizza, comparable to a Round Table or Mountain Mike’s — but with a better crust.

Corporate pizza should at least aim for average, this place is just plain pathetic!
They’ve been at this location for 25 or 30 years all ready.
Who keeps this place in business???
