We had dinner on Valentines Day. Good food and wine list. Service was excellent. Every woman was given a long stem red rose. We will definitely return on our next trip to San Luis Obispo

Pretty disappointing. Had a business dinner for 10 and the restaurant should study how experienced restaurants handle larger tables. Having one sever run back and forth to get 2 plates at a time with lags in between meant everyone’s food was cold. My pasta did not come out and after 10 min, everyone else had to eat. No apologies nor explanations. for why my order didn’t arrive. Someone flagged down another waiter since ours disappeared to point out my food was missing. Our waiter arrived a few minutes later with my pappardelle but it was not good Pasta was stuck together and meat in the ragu was tough and chewy. Not a good experience. I give an extra star for very good local wine which we enjoyed.

I’ve had a couple corporate events here. Tonight I had bruschetta, salad, garganelli all norma and ice cream with fruit for dessert. Bruschetta — was ok. bread was a little overly toasted and they used way too much powder garlic and no fresh garlics or herbs to flavor. The powder garlic was way too overpowering; it lets a cakey/pungent flavor. Salad — basic mixed greens with some shaved fennel and a tomato wedge. A bit too much dressing; I’m not sure which kind.(But I’m bias, since I’m not a fan of dressing at all on my salads.) Garganelli all norma — this was great. Portion size was large. The tomato and ricotta sauce had a fresh, tangy flavor. It had little bits of fried eggplant in it that had a fun texture and nice flavor. Topped with grana padano and basil. This plate was great. Ice cream — The ice cream was a plain golden vanilla. And they topped with a cookie. I’m not sure what kind… looked like a lady finger, tasted more like an amaretto biscuit. But it was dry; the cookie was not so good. But had fresh berries on it that was nice. My biggest draw back from this place is the seating. They put us on side patio which might be nice in summer, but even with space heaters overhead, I was freezing. And then when they brought ice cream, that was over the top. Too cold on the side patio at night. Wish there was a better way to make the side patio more comfortable. Had this as a 3 star, but owner was kind enough to shoot me a message. Was super nice and suggests a couple things I could have done to made my experience better, so changing to 4 stars for awesome customer service. =)

We came with a party of 8 on Saturday. They had 250 reservations that night including us. They were lined out the door with people hoping to walk in as well. Our server was fantastic. We never had to wait for refills on our drinks or bread. The flavor of the food was excellent and the waiters were great about giving us recommendations on wine that would be good with our meals. I ordered the gnocchi and was very impressed. I will be back for a nice date night.

Tuesday, is half price bottle of wine! Good wine list. Three dinners we ordered, all were excellent(sole, pork chop and spinach and chicken stuffed pasta). Service was perfect. Marco, owner, totally gracious and warm. We will return any day of the week.

Went to dinner with wife and friend and his wife on a Monday. Restaurant was not too busy. Waited in bar for friends to show. The bar tender ignored us for at least 10 mins. When we finally spoke out he turned around said he was doing something on the computer and would be with us shortly. After waiting another 5 mins our friends finally showed up and we left for our table. I have never had a bar tender ignore us like that especially when there were only 5 other people in the bar. Was seated at the table and ignored for another 10 mins before wait staff finally came. This was followed by lack of attention on our wine, filling water and did not remove salad plates before the mains showed up. This restaurant normally has fantastic food and great service. Food was up to par as always but service was horrible and embarrassing. I kept waiting for someone to jump out and say we were being punked. Food would be 5 stars. Service 1 star so split the difference at 3. Hopefully next time we go service will have improved. Can only go up

Love it. The hubs and I go here for our romantic lunches when we get a sitter– once a month or so. I always order gnocchi or pasta, beet salad is great too! Excellent food, ambiance and service. Also a great place to bring visitors. Love it! Thank you!

The finest Italian restaurant on the Central Coast. Excellent food and service. Might want to leave infants/small children at home, at least for dinner. I would recommend making reservations.

Ask which pasta is housemade. Tuesday half price wine bottles is an awesome opportunity to try sone expensive vines with some really good Italian food. Take the opportunity it’s great.

This was the worst Italian food I have had in my life. It was the third worst Italian food my sister has had in her life, but she’s a bit older. We came here with a group of five. The service was terrible despite there only being about 4 other occupied tables. We started with the fried mozzarella which tasted like plastic and cigarettes. Most of us ordered the special, a goat cheese ravioli in an asparagus cream sauce. It’s hard to describe what a disaster this dish was. The bread was fine. The pumpkin squash ravioli was edible. My husband described the lasagna as «okay at first got progressively shittier.» Maybe it was just an off night, the wait staff was very nice just not very attentive. The atmosphere was very nice. They had an extensive wine list. But I’d probably skip this restaurant and go anywhere else.

Such a great place! We stopped by here on our way to San Fran from LA and had such a great experience. The owner Marco is amazing and so accommodating, and our server Jeff was great. We shared a salad and the signor mason pizza and both were great. Thanks Marco and staff. We will definitely return!

Overpriced place. Came here for lunch, got the lunch special mushroom risotto and their«closest thing» to a small side salad as apparently they can’t make a small side salad. The total was $ 28 before tip for lunch. The ambiance here is very nice and upscale; nice energy for lunch. The food just really was overpriced, and that’s for San Luis Obispo. Clearly better places in town, with an ambiance just as nice with food that is better for a better price. Also a side note on the house vinaigrette; very creamy, tasted like ranch mixed with Olive Garden dressing. I enjoyed it though they put a lot on the salad. Should be described as an extra cream Italian. The risotto was good, but very low on the creaminess, ironically, but it did have a good variety of quality mushrooms.

Consistently outstanding! The wait staff is very professional and knowledgable while still being gracious. At my last visit, I had rabbit that was beyond measure! I love a restaurant that has unique offerings like this. The fact that they have a parking lot is really nice in a town like SLO.

REALLYLOVED the O Sole Mio pizza and quirky location. LOVED the bruschetta and ambiance(simple, classic, dark, romantic) LIKED the herb potatoes side, the menu options, the service, APPROVED of Jeopardy playing in the bar. DEALTWITH the prices– not cheap, but not outrageous, especially for a nice restaurant with tasty food in a touristy area. DIDN’T LIKE the noise level(but that’s me and perhaps the flamboyant guy next to me) WOULDN’T MIND oil offered with house bread.

This Italian restaurant is located by the train station about a mile or two away from downtown. Because of the location, you can probably find a table on a weekend night. The ambiance is nice, the place is clean, has a lot of seating and a nice bar area. The food was good and the service was excellent. About $ 40 per person with a cocktail. The food was 3 stars; service was 4 and the overall value for me was a 3.

Beef Carpaccio(6⁄5) — HOLYSH*T! This is the best I’ve had anywhere. Meat was so tender and soft with perfect amounts of parmesan and capers. Linguini with clams(5⁄5) — Best I could ever ask for. At every other place i’ve had this dish, they usually screw up on one of the following: overcooking clams, not enough clams, unfresh clams, sandy clams, not enough sauce, salty sauce, badly cooked pasta. However, here they aced every single component. There were a ton of fresh clams cooked perfectly complemented with a flavorful lemon butter sauce and al dente linguini noodles. Heaven on a plate! Lasagna(4⁄5) — Unique lemony flavor made with ricotta cheese inside and melted cheese on top. If you’re a cheese lover, get this. Dessert(6⁄5) — this rating is for service because the waiter let us eat the slice of Madonna Inn cake that we brought. He even gave us candles and plates for it. Very nice and classy wait staff! The whole meal ended up being really affordable since we took advantage of the Unilocal check in offer for free corkage and brought our own bottle of wine.
